Obviously this subject causes much debate, and there is no mention of "The Children of the Mist", about the greenstone trail, or the Polynesian Triangle that has as its furthest points Hawaii, as well as New Zealand. As a blended culture, we now recognise that we all all New Zealanders, however, and it will always be the case, who came to NZ first? There are many hidden cultures making NZ a lot older than one would expect. One thing is for sure though, the Maori peoples did come, settle and continue to do so in this beautiful country. After all in the endgame we are but travelers in time and space. What we do on this earth is the important thing. :)
I agree. There is way too much arguing, bickering and fighting between Maori and pakeha. This bicultural stand off is unhealthy for NZ and as you said "we all all New Zealanders". Maori are not indigenous. They are travellers just like the first Europeans were but they want it to be more and this continuous feuding is why I no longer live in my own country of birth. I no longer have to suffer the 'in-your-face racism' on a daily basis where the pot is continuously stirred by the left leaning mainstream media. Maybe it has improved of late. I don't know.
Well, back when I was a small lad, I was told that one of my maungas "Maungapohatu" was a comet, and crash landed on earth millions or billions of years ago. Just to be with the god of the mist (Hine Pu Kohurangi). And apparently that's where "The Children Of The Mist" Such so myself, came from. It was a great story to me as a kid. But GODDAMN , I wanna know where my kuia and koroua got there information from, Because how the hell does that work.
I found one of those stones once on a coastal property over 40 years ago. I was a shepherd at the time and mustering stock so didn't pay it much attension other than noting it looked out of place on raised ground and had a number of symbols or engravings that made no sense to me. I promptly disregarded it as I had work to do and didn't note if other stones existed around it or if it lined up on points on the horizon. But my interest has been raised in recent years with the drive to rewrite NZ history. Maybe I should keep its location secret so it can be rediscovered at a future time in a different political climate.
No use going to a University with your information. I would have a chat with your local MP. Feel free to email the photo and I can show it to expert who was the presenter. cheers.
@@jodiberntsen racist nonsense. There were no people in nz before Maori, and even if there were it wouldn’t change the fact that Maori are tangata whenua.
In Samoa they were known as the Tetea (Albinos) but were expelled due to civil strife, in Tonga one of the noble clans is called Ha'amea (Ha'a meaning Clan/House and Mea meaning Pale or Light-coloured) with mythical origins, in Kiribati they are known as I-Matang (Meaning from-Matang likewise I-Kiribati meaning from-Kiribati) a name used to describe Europeans today because of their similarity to the I-Matang who arrived in ancient times. In Tokelau, Spanish Explorers described their meeting with a canoe party of natives when they discovered Olohega, describing in detail some of them being white in skin, some with freckles and reddish in hair and so named it "Isla De La Gente Hermosa" meaning Island of Beautiful People. There are a few Pacific Islander families who are descended from them when they mixed with local populations. Names like kura/ura/vula/kehu meaning "red" because of their reddish hair and also mea/tea meaning "pale" because of their complexion.
A curator at the museum in Vanuatu told me these white people were called the Lapita. I asked him what happened to them? He said well, er, um....we ate them! Nice guy! Appreciate your input
Oh so because one person told you “we ate them” means it must be true. Rather than the truth that the gene was passed down through family (so clearly not eaten)

This is interesting as hell, but factually it's a mixed bag. I've looked into it a lot because I love reading about this kind of thing. Sadly, I'm always disappointed when I dig a bit further. The thing about the Moriori arriving a couple of hundred years earlier has no basis in fact, it's a common misconception that was disproved in the 1970s - they were Māori who settled the Chatham Islands from mainland NZ, probably around 1500, and they underwent a cultural shift due to resource scarcity. Their language is a dialect of Māori most similar to the Ngāi Tahu dialect. They are genetically and culturally Māori and their early artefacts match those found on the mainland. There are definitely some interesting and tantalising clues that people may have at some point visited NZ prior to Māori settlement, but there is no solid evidence that anyone other than the ancestors of Māori settled here for long enough or large enough numbers to leave any evidence. Contrast this to the viking settlement sites in remote parts of Canada - despite them not having managed to successfully colonise North America there is still plenty of evidence for the handful of attempts that they made. Polynesian people are well known for erecting stone monuments similar to those of the neolithic period in Europe. There are some particularly impressive monuments in Tonga, for example, as well as the obvious Easter Island Maoi, and astronomically aligned monuments throughout western polynesia and micronesia. The artifacts, stone monuments and carvings shown aren't stylistically different to other Polynesian examples found elsewhere, which is why archaeologists don't view them as being evidence for a non-polynesian culture on their own. The whole idea that the archaeological community is taking part in a conspiracy to suppress knowledge for which evidence exists I find fairly unbelievable - archaeologists, and indeed any person who's gotten into a financially unrewarding profession, are doing the work mostly for the love of it, there is no incentive for them to hide things and indeed if there was any evidence contrary to the current understanding then surely they'd be all over it.
Hi Nik, You are right; it is a mixed bag and subject worth getting excited about and openly researched as in other countries. FYI do some research on the pre polynesian megalithic builders called the Lapita people and connect the dots with the megalithic structures in Tonga and a pyramid base on Savaii in Samoa plus who do you think taught the Polynesians mathematics and astronomical navigational plotting ?
_"The whole idea that the archaeological community is taking part in a conspiracy to suppress knowledge for which evidence exists I find fairly unbelievable -"_ While I find your comment very interesting, I feel obliged to correct this assumption. The most obvious example would be Egypt, ofcourse. Where to this day any research requests are met with quite a bit of hostility. It is blatantly obvious that conventional Egyptology is completely false. Then there is Peru & Bolivia, which in a nutshell is the same story. Vast amounts of evidence that contradict the official narrative. And closer to NZ I can think of the Gunung Padang pyramid in Indonesia. They won't even let them use ground radar. It's completely off limits, despite vast amounts of evidence literally lying around everywhere there. I trust these 3 examples will suffice to get rid of the notion that "it is hard to believe that the archaeological community is taking part in a conspiracy to suppress knowledge for which evidence exists"
Mystery Babylon before God scattered them to the 4 corners of the earth, same religion now being brought to the surface again as it is written in the truth of Gods word the Bible, particularly Revelations. Genius chapter 6 gives the original story.,

John, at 5:25 you say information regarding these archaeological sites has been "suppressed" by the government. If you look carefully at the order it uses the word "restricted". Suppressed and restricted have two different meanings. Suppressed means, 'to not allow people to know about or see something'. Restricted means, 'limited to persons authorized to use information, documents etc'. If you read the order it reads as follows; 'Prior consultation requires approval of the Te Raroa-Waipoua Archaeological Advisory Committee or other subsequent Te Raroa authority'. The information hasn't been suppressed as you assert, only restricted. In fact the document that you purport to be a suppression order is in fact an "Agreement for the Transfer of Archives'. In this case from the Dept. of Conservation to the Te Raroa-Waipoua Archaeological Advisory Committee. So, please stop misrepresenting the facts to suit your twisted political agenda.
Ngamoko Nikora Supressed or Restricted ends up the same as far as "In the public interest" is concerned. Gary Cook challenged this restriction on Waipoua forest and got a partial easement which were archaeological notes describing mounds of rocks, rock circle, wall of rocks etc. However the carbon dating figures which is the most important information has purposely been withheld/suppressed/restricted from public scrutiny until 2063.
Turehu NZ This is not the same Gary Cook who co-authored with Max Hill and Noel Hilliam, "To the ends of the Earth" is it? Professor Paul Moon, of Auckland AUT University, has been quoted as saying that the book's authors lack credibility and questions their research methodologies. Who carried out the radiocarbon dating of the artifacts at Waipoua forest? Where is the suppression order supposedly suppressing the carbon dating record until 2063? As I said earlier the document you purport to be a suppression order is in fact an "Agreement for the Transfer of Archives" it says so on this video at 5:23. Restricted yes, suppressed/withheld no.

Yes the Irish were connected to the Egyptians..... And the people made of the clay of the land were possibly aboriginal or an aboriginal mix. The aboriginals made it from Australia to the Amazon in South America. Their DNA exists in 3 tribes there. So its not out of the question they made the much shorter journey to NZ. And some Maori stories say the people here were dark and ugly (no offence just repeating). Some of the incoming Polynesians took the best women for themselves.

Whereas European culture can embrace and explore the idea that their origins may be different from what they have been taught, I find it intriguing that Maori culture would struggle to investigate with enthusiasm that perhaps their history is not what we have been taught. To be defiant in attacking this idea of indigeneity is insecurity in my opinion.
"what we have been taught" is that a group of seven waka travelled together from hawaiki to find a land populated by the moriori who were then eaten and enslaved. so on the contrary, we all welcome the truth, which is quite a different story from that.
Historians and archaeologists dismiss these theories. Michael King wrote in his history of New Zealand, "Despite a plethora of amateur theories about Melanesian, South American, Egyptian, Phoenician and Celtic colonisation of New Zealand, there is not a shred of evidence that the first human settlers were anything other than Polynesian",[10] and Richard Hill, professor of New Zealand Studies at Victoria University of Wellington, said in 2012, "Not one of [the theories] has ever passed any remote academic scrutiny."[8] Hugh Laracy of the University of Auckland called them "wild speculation" that has been "thoroughly disposed of by academic specialists."[9] Another historian, Vincent O'Malley, and the New Zealand Archaeological Association regard the theories as having a racist or at least a political element, seeking to cast doubt on Waitangi Tribunal claims.[8][11] Scott Hamilton in "No to Nazi Pseudo-history: an Open Letter" further explains objections to the theories of Bolton and Doutré (and the website Ancient Celtic New Zealand).[12]

Actually you are incorrect. The Archaeological reports are open access in Archives New Zealand Auckland and Wellington Branches. They're also available online through Whangarei Libraries Northland Room Digital Collections. I have some of the copies which I obtained via the Maingay Collection which is online and fully accessible. This video like the Plumm production lacks any academic rigour and fails to stand up to scrutiny. The entire thing is based on a theory with the 'evidence' found to fit that theory. DNA testing of the Rapanui elders by Oslo University proved they all had Polynesian descent originating from the Marqesas Islands. Scientists also proved the polynesian people were master navigators and more than capable of traversing the Pacific as far away as Easter Island. Also in the DNA evidence they found the Rapanui had had some contact with people of South America. This "there were people before Maori" is flawed, without any plausible evidence and has no sound basis in fact whatsoever.
Hello Liz, "academic rigour" is an oxymoron especially from our so called academic institutes. If these people say anything controversial they are "down the road". Openness with ideas for discussion can only come from people like us; we are not afraid. Those in Universities are so PC and willing to tow the line for fear of losing their jobs. If you are an academic Archaeologist would you like to help?
Sorry I can't accept your argument. Had you a sound basis with proper evidence instead of conjecture I would take this so called 'Waitaha/Turehu" theory as perhaps plausible. But it isn't. There hasn't been one piece of sound evidence produced. Just a theory without the solid evidence required to prove it is plausible. You're quick to dismiss the Academic community, and I highly doubt anyone there would supposedly lose their jobs. Because somehow simply accepting a theory that cannot produce the supporting evidence isn't how someone academically trained would work. At least not those that are taken seriously James Belich being one of them. Archaeologists go on the evidence they excavate, date and examine to determine the timeline in comparison to those who make the consistent claim that the Waipoua Reports are all supposedly locked up until 2063 because of some supposed government conspiracy. And yet I was able to obtain them via the Whangarei Libraries digital collection. I'm a Heritage Researcher Turehu and like the archaeologists I go on documented evidence which includes reading archaeolgical reports. When you come up with the actual archaeological evidence to prove your theory then maybe you'll get taken seriously. Let me know when you do.

I'm not a racist in any way. I dont really care if NZ is completely given to Maori. They are generous people. I'm 1/8 Maori. I like truth, and history is like a gig saw puzzle. The accepted story of 7 great wakas arriving in NZ would suggest a unified arrival. As we all know Maori are not unified and were very brutal on each other. This suggests arrivals came from different peoples, at different times. Many Polynesian people have the birthmark on their behind. This originates from Genghis Khan , down on through Asia, and many Asian people have this spot on their behinds. Also, some early arrivals to NZ came via Iran thru Peru, Easter island (you tube ancient NZ history, completely non racist, many Maori stories) AND SOME from the more traditional route, Polynesia. Also many hundreds of ships left Europe and Asia in 14/15 hundreds. Only half returned home and were accounted for. It is possible many roamed the oceans and picked up women and landed in NZ. Remains of Spanish galleons have been found in the Kaipara harbour. So lets work it all out. Nothing to be scared of surly ?
Absolutely Mark, I find archaeology and the movement of people fascinating and the Maori who call this a racist subject must be fearful or ignorant. Wouldn't it be great to have a time machine eh?
maori migrated to nz over a 100 year period, not all at the same time, not even all coming from the same place, some waka came from cook islands, since the sites of the building of the waka are still there like te arawa and tainui, they also stopped in samoa for supplies where a tohunga hopped on te arawa waka to continue the journey to nz, some came from tahiti easter islands hawaii and even rarotonga, point is maori weren't a people or culture until they arrived in aotearoa where they developed their own culture over 500 years, the first settlers were not brutal to each other at all as there was an abundant amount of resources and land there was no need for fighting, hence there are no weapons found to be made during that time period, and dont forget, polynesians are genetically descended from taiwan/lapita group, all of those other places you mentioned lack any substantial proof of their being in nz so until you show some, it is all just wild theories
There is plenty of speculation of very advanced groups of people worldwide who lived well before recorded history .Look at Gobleteki apparently 12000years old.The world had been travelled for much longer than our memory or written history.

Don’t know why people think there would only have been one or two waves of settlers on New Zealand. In the Caribbean where I am from there are the same indentations on stones referred to as work holes. Very similar spirals carved into the stones and caves, made by a people whose name has long been lost, they predate the Kalinago (Caribs) and the Arawaks. Similar markings, I realized, are found in the Canary Islands on the other side of the Atlantic. Moriori are the Tangata Whenua of the Chatham islands. You are promoting a Myth and lie created by your people. Based on writings of Percy Smith and Elsdon Best, there grew theories that the Māori had displaced a more primitive pre-Māori population of Moriori (sometimes described as a small-statured, dark-skinned race of possible Melanesian origin), in mainland New Zealand - and that the Chatham Island Moriori were the last remnant of this earlier race. These theories also had the advantage - from the view of the European settlers - of undermining the notion of the Māori as the indigenous people of New Zealand, making them just one in a neat progression of waves of migration and conquest by increasingly more civilised and technically able peoples. This in turn was used to justify racist stereotyping, colonisation and conquest by cultural "superiors" Youre merely creating another fantasy to justify your presense in New Zealand...keep dreaming the only one buying your theory are those people wearing tinfoil hats.
***** We are not promoting myths and lies based on other people's writings; based on artifacts and rock formations we have filmed and touched and measured, we are postulating that there was a civilisation in NZ long before Moriori and Maori. It's around 1300AD archaeologists and scientists typically share this period as the time of the arrival of the first settlers to Nz but there his so much proof and evidence that suggests more its almost like they don't want to acknowledge it or ignore it because the alternative answer would prove archeologist and scientists have been wrong all along. But also another reason for lack of evidence could also be every 1000 years Nz is known to have catastrophic volcanic eruptions and is considered the reason alot of ancient evidence has been distroyed.
Your evidence is based on speculation no proof of claim my genealogy as an original of Te Hapu Oneone you will find a community established here before pacific migration having bought kumara or sweet potato and corn which had origins in south america. If you want to know the history ask the original native inhabitants. This is the problem when so called scholars rewrite history to suit themselves. If you go to the Kaimanawa Ranges ask locals about the great wall that was covered by the 1869 Tarawera eruption.Have to disagree utter rubbish no proof of claim..Celtic were living in Aotearoa 5000 years ago doubt it or it would have been known as New Ireland! 1325 is a load of made up bull, maori was the name given by Captain Cook after abducting a Tahitian, the Taupo eruption was in 1889 my nan was a youth Waiharakeke she passed away early 1970s age approx 110yrs old documented in our archived and recorded maori were seafarers it was not discounted marriage to settlers... your pseudo theories hold no water...
Have to disagree with you. Maori have been in NZ since around 1325. The Taupo Eruption was 186 AD and the tephra ash preserved human markings/inscisions on boulders which I have filmed which are identical to those found in Knoweth and New Grange Ireland. This is AT LEAST eleven hundred odd years before Maori set foot in NZ.
Turehu NZ Hey, I was wondering if you could post a link to where Auckland University verifies this? I've been looking for the past few days and can't find it.
I would like TurehuNZ to either remove this video from TH-cam, or at the very least change its title. TurehuNZ has not presented any credible evidence of pre-non Maori settlement of New Zealand on this video, or anywhere else, for the reasons stated in my earlier posts. They are his views and are not compelling or credible evidence so the title to this video is both misleading and insulting to the Maori people. And lastly, who at the University of Auckland has given official recognition for any of the views presented in this video?
Ngamoko Nikora This video presents factual hard evidence of pre Maori occupation. No way could a primitive cannibal race have any concept of mathematical calculation with the astronomical calendars. To those Maori who are offended; tough. It is a free speech world on You Tube. "Maoriwithattitude" on this blog is an aware person who mentions how Maori elders distort their pre Maori history by talking about the fairy people in a way to make the stories more of a myth to cover up the reality of the Turehu. As a pakeha I am insulted by you playing the victim all the time. The world does NOT owe you a living. Your insecurities over this subject is pathetic. I challenge all Maori who read this to do some digging for the truth; pester your elders. Alot of them are good people and may open up. Your aggression and insecurities are what will always hold your culture back. Be open, be helpful towards the quest for truth.
Turehu NZ Firstly, this video does not present hard evidence of pre-Maori occupation. Let's look at the stones as shown do you have any geological/archaeological opinions from established academic experts in this field supporting your view? I think not. For all we know the stones mentioned could have been placed there as a result of volcanic activity, or other natural occurrences. As to the markings on the stones they could have been the result of some 'prankster' in recent times chiseling them out with a hammer and chisel. I asked you earlier, who at the University of Auckland has given official recognition for the views presented here? You have not responded, which can only be interpreted as no one at the University of Auckland agrees with you. Free speech is one thing, but to present opinion as fact without hard evidence in an attempt to displace Maori as the indigenous people of New Zealand is an insult. As a child my father would often talk to me about the Turehu and would show me where they would appear. They were from the underworld, supernatural beings like the leprechaun from Ireland. Secondly, you have no evidence of pre-Maori occupation of New Zealand for the following reasons;(1) any large scale settlement would likely be accompanied by the destruction of a considerable amount of forest by fires, and scientists can discover the date at which this sort of destruction began by testing pollen spores preserved in the sediment of lakes. Tests do not indicate any man-made destruction of the forests began until less than 1,000 years ago, so your claims of a mass settlement of pre-non Maori Celtic people occurring 4,500 years ago looks rather unlikely. (2) If large numbers of Caucasian people lived in New Zealand thousands of years ago, then we ought to be finding their skeletons, as well as burial items which reflect a non-Polynesian material culture. But the oldest skeletons and burial items that have been found are distinctly Polynesian, and are less than 1,000 years old. (3) The strongest evidence against your claim of ancient non-Maori settlement comes from DNA testing. You have asserted in articles published that the ancestors of the Maori slaughtered the male Celts who had settled in New Zealand and then raped their women, and the present Maori therefore have some of the blood of the ancient Celts. In recent years scholars have run a series of DNA tests on Maori, in an effort to trace their ancestry. These tests confirm that Maori are a Polynesian people, and that Polynesians have their origins in coastal Asia thousands of years ago. In 2005 a team from the University of Victoria, Wellington was able to establish an ancient connection between Maori and one of the indigenous peoples of Taiwan, both groups have the same rare gene marker for coping with alcohol. If Maori really were part-Celtic, then the connection would show up in DNA tests. It doesn't. Finally, John I would therefore challenge you to accept the fact based on overwhelming evidence by academic specialists that Maori are the real indigenous people of New Zealand.
Ngamoko Nikora "Real" Academics and archaeologists are the main problem in covering up evidence. They fear for their jobs if they step out of line and go against what the UN has foisted on our Government. Look at the Celtic symbolism that adorns Maori head gear and around the waist. The rat bones found under the Taupo ash precede Maori by 1100 years. Who brought the rat to NZ? The cave near Taupo which was exposed by torrential rain revealed a family of European skeletons huddled together to hide from the Taupo eruption of 186AD, the adults had copper braclets around their wrists. Why don't you do your own research? You are fortunate in being able to approach Kaumatua and the keepers of history and quietly interview them. Even video the interview!
Turehu NZ 'Real academics and archaeologists are the main problem in covering up evidence'. OMG John, you're a conspiracy theorist par excellence. When experts debunk your theories you resort to the old covering up the evidence argument. As to the Pacific rat(Kiore) the latest radiocarbon dating puts the date of arrival of the Kiore at around 1250AD. No rat bones have been found beneath the Taupo ash of 232AD. Six dates on rat bones found in South Island cave sites, carried out by two different laboratories, all came out at 1250AD or more recent. As to the Taupo ash of 232AD and Kaharoa ash of 1314AD there has been no discovery of human settlement beneath the two ash layers. How do you know that the skeletal remains found in a Taupo cave date back to the period of the Taupo ash? Who carried out the radiocarbon dating on these skeletons? And how do you know that the said skeletal remains are European? Who carried out the DNA testing? Where is your proof John?
Kudos,to you for tackling this fascinating subject; to my understanding there were two indigenous people on the islands before the Polynesian influx, the Small "faerie like "people and the tall red/blog haired (possibly connected to the celts) ;who's remains have been found mummified in China and are also found on North America. Not too sure why people are so set in stone with their beliefs about history...As things do get discovered throughout time, the goalposts inevitably do get moved...history does change. As everyone knows we are a young country, we are forever evolving, learning and its bound to change. England itself has as you all know, a huge history, yet the more study and archeological digs that go on around the Roman sites, Medieval sites and the Henges etc, they are learning that their history is not what they first thought it to be...It in itself is still changing and evolving as history always will. We need to be more open-minded about this, nothing is set in stone, not even the 'facts' in the Bible, but that's another story for another day!

Interesting. I recently heard of people called the Menehune coming here from Hawaii a long time ago, They were of small stature and were stone workers. A place called the Menehune Fishpond on Kauai has intricately cut and placed stonework.
Why couldn't Maori or their predecessors have made these ? Spirals were inscribed by many cultures..not just Celts! Where is the evidence of Celts sailing to NZ in those days?
I have met non-European people from New Zealand who claim their ancestors were there before the Maori. There are many things about the history of this planet we don't necessarily know the full story of. However posing the idea that they were from Ireland by simply pointing to some rock features or symbols is not enough. A quick search shows that there are Polynesian symbols which give a very good match to the ones in the video here and spirals are very common. Proper archaeology should bring answers; provide dating and bring the evidence of earlier peoples living and dying to the surface. So I wish you good luck in persuading experienced practitioners to join your work.
There were no people in nz before the eastern Polynesian ancestors of Māori. Māori did not all arrive at once or from the same island, so obviously the later arrivals found (eastern Polynesian) people already here.

What were the seafaring capabilities of the pre-Celtic people 4,500 years ago? Did they have the capability and know how to make enormous trans-ocean voyages (traversing two or even three oceans no less depending what direction they chose) like this possible?
The Irish were never considered a great maritime civilisation unlike the Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and British. They were the most poorest and undeveloped region of Europe till the 1960s.
I think everyone should read this email. Its by a former NZ judge and Law Lecturer, and whether they like it or not all families should read it and be aware of what’s is happening In June 2022, Anthony Willy, former Judge and Law Lecturer, said “The catch cry ‘democracy does not work for Maori’ has become the mantra for the destruction of democracy. Quite simply we are witnessing a coup designed to dismantle our democracy and the Rule of Law and replace it with the worst form of tribalism coupled with the greed of those who want what they have not earned.” The rollout of the Government’s He Puapua plan to establish Maori sovereignty by 2040 is proceeding at breathtaking speed. We are living in revolutionary times. It is a coup, by a small number of iwi elite who have their hands on the levers of power thanks to our Prime Minister’s willingness to sacrifice New Zealand democracy for totalitarian tribal rule. Virtually every facet of our society is now subjected to their influence with their latest ‘conquest’, the legal system, by replacing Western Common law that has evolved over hundreds of years with Maori tribal practices. Replacing democracy with tribal rule is so extreme, that Jacinda Ardern knew she would lose the 2020 General Election if her plan became known. As a result, she kept He Puapua hidden from her New Zealand First coalition partner - and from the public - until after she had secured the power to govern alone. None of the significant changes, which are undermining democracy and our Kiwi way of life that are being introduced through He Puapua, have received a mandate from the public. The restructuring of health, polytechnics, our legal system, and water services are all illegitimate policy changes designed to pass control to the tribal elite. None have public approval. In this climate of division created by Jacinda Ardern, key institutions are being corrupted from their original purpose of serving all New Zealanders as equals, to prioritising and privileging those of Maori descent. Under her leadership, democracy is being replaced by apartheid. Jacinda Ardern is not doing this alone. Supporting her are the powerful members of Labour’s 15-strong Maori Caucus. Recently Willie Jackson addressed a group of 5000 at a big marae. He shook his fist in the air and stated”When we have control of the water we have total control of Aotearoa” They are well on the way to doing just this while all the confused pakeha are looking on bemused! He Puapua is dangerous, it spells the end of one law for all, and of DEMOCRACY, He Puapua must go. New Zealand, we cannot remain silent, we must voice & demonstrate our opposition to He Puapua now!.
Maori people, for thousands of years lived their lives in harmony with nature in these lands. Just two hundred years ago these lands truly were paradise. Then along came democracy with its unjust schemes, corrupting all that was good. And paradise was no more but 'democracy' still reigns. So don't despair when democracy doesn't look at you the way youre accustomed to. That's democracy!!
Most maori know the history we don't need to hear from others really to be honest and Maori were approx 17,000 years way before dates told in this video, plus if truth be know as for the immagrants like the English they came a lot later, they have no real claim to New Zealand as the Spanish landed here 500 years ago. But the English don't want to acknowledge loosing face and grounding.

Ancient islanders have light skin who looks caucasian among them and red haired too. They bear the name of their clans describing just that, they're tall and light skin. This Moriori group of people speaks a Micronesian dialect if those documentaries are factual but it appears there's a lot of Polynesian influence on their language as well. Many of their words only used in Micronesia instead of Polynesia. I'm not sure about how Celtics came to be but stone settings like this one in the Video is pretty common in Tahiti, Yap, Guam and some of the islands. Perhaps the Celtics were one and the same as the islanders ancestors origin but the whole blue eye thingy and light skin was a much later results of intermarriage from the European side after the real indigenous group migrating away? I noticed the islanders have similarities with the celtics and the Norse too. Possible that all the similarities are only ancient sharing of information and cultural influences but has nothing to do with a particular group trying to claim ownership or origin of something.
Irish and Māori culture are similar in many ways but that does not mean white people were set up here before us māori😂 many different cultures have similarities and are on opposites from each other in the world
Irish are white folk. You say Maori and Irish culture is similar. Have you considered that Maori inherited some of Irish culture which is of course much older. If this is the case, there is evidence that late Neolithic Irish came to NZ with Maori absorbing their culture as Maori definitely did not travel to Ireland.

When Tasman and Cook arrived they found Maori's. Now if you actually listened to what they were saying it would not be such a mystery. Maori's claim tangata whenua status from they fact we descend from the original inhabitants of this land. Be they Irish be they Phoenician be they Tamil be they Chinese be they Viking whatever what is for sure a large component of them were Polynesian and most likely they were shipwrecked. Maori's claim our status, mana whatever from the fleet that arrived about 1350. This was a planned migration and many of the crew were royalty and experts, priests with skills that would be required in this new land. Which they knew about because the ancestor Kupe the navigator bought back the instructions how to get there. Through geneology the new arrivals quickly made connections with there long lost relatives and so it was until the pakeha arrived. One of the main differences was the fleet Maori's were gardeners the tangata whenua were hunter gatherers. Hence the observation of stars was not a mystery and whats more these new people Polynesians did construct stone altars but you already no that don't you. @@turehunz342 no, moriori and maori have the same eastern polynesian ancestors, who arrived in nz from 1250AD onwards. they share linguistic and genealogical ties with ngai tahu in nz's south island.
@@turehunz342 as above the Polynesian ancestors of Māori and moriori arrived in New Zealand from 1250 onwards, then some of those people went to the chathams and became moriori (culturally distinct from maori) there. One way in which they became distinct is that the adopted “nunuku’s law” of non violence. Back in nz at that time Māori were probably not very violent as there were plenty of resources and low population density. Later inter tribal warfare increased, then with the introduction of muskets all hell broke loose. Taranaki iwi ngati mutunga and ngati tama were displaced by northern iwi, moved south to Wellington, then took a British ship and guns to take the lands and people of the chathams for themselves. That’s the short version. Interesting, right?
Hahaha and I bet he thinks that the patupaiarehe are his direct ancestors too! If they were a people here they are definitely entwined closer in the Maori bloodlines than his.... just sayin.
some of the Maori women had ancient Persian/Indo European DNA and many red haired descendants. It’s definitely not unique to New Zealand though some other interesting finds are the Florida Bog people with red hair as well as the chachapoya red haired culture of Peru. Look up red haired, giants of America, and you will find endless examples and many tales passed down through the native peoples. One in particular being Lovelock cave.
@@inigomontoya8943 There seems to be some misunderstanding. The main ancient genetic heritage reflects Taiwanese origins with a gradual migration through the pacific. It also needs to be made aware these tests are well into the colonial period so various DNA heritages through subsequent mecegination are hardly going to be surprising. There are also traces of ancient PERUVIAN DNA, rather than Persian as its surmised Polynesian sailing expeditions made it to Peru and returned with Kumara and possibly wives. 4,000 to 5,000 years ago red haired Irish people setup standing stone observatories and temples of worship. Why has the government placed an embargo on this knowledge until 2063?
The embargo on the archaeological dig at Waipoua forest which I think is what you are referring to was put on by Micheal Taylor concealing the carbon dating of inhabitants centuries before Maori. My friend the late Noel Hilliam was there at the dig and told me. What reason has the Government got to hide this knowledge? Anyone's guess. After votes, maybe UN directive??

I have read many positive and negative comments on this video and all videos that attempt to clarify the correct and true history of these two islands we call New Zealand. I have read that many millions ago the Earth consisted of a number of major continents that slowly broke into the type of shapes we see now. I understand that one large mass was called Gondwanaland and the land we know as our country was part of that continent. Is it at all possible that some of the more ancient things that have been discovered here were created then before our land eventually broke away from this land mass. Dinosaur bones were discovered in the Hawkes bay region I believe, which could well have come from animals occupying our part of that land mass, The age of man is slowly growing older as more discoveries are made, already some are claiming that man was around during the dinosaur age..I am not saying that smaller stone walls etc could have come from that period, but things like the giant carved boulders , kaimanawa wall etc could have been created before this country found its place. Something to think about.
I was driving and noticed a Kiwi cabbage tree which isn't that interesting untill you realize that you are in Ireland. I stopped and had a look and it was definitely your stock standard NZ cabbage tree. Kind of understandable if it was in someone garden but it was in a paddock much like you see on Kiwi farms. It was a very mature tree, how did it get there and grow in that spot? Maybe there is a population of NZ cabbage trees and maybe other NZ plants in Ireland that have been there for thousands of years which could go a long way to creating an historic link showing historic travel between the two countries. I have not seen any others anywhere else in the world despite having traveled extensively. I think I can kind of remember the location.
Interesting. My understanding was the cabbage tree was brought over pre Maori from South America. I wonder then if the late Neolithic Irish who we believe settled in NZ, returned to Ireland hence taking that plant with them?
@@turehunz342 definitely not. cabbage trees are native to the western pacific, polynesia and nz. they have been taken to england/ireland since european arrival and are fairly popular there, known as the torquay or torbay palm. they were first grown in the UK in the early nineteenth century. there were no pre-maori from south america in nz. there is no evidence for anything like that. stop making stuff up.
I am glad that I am living long enough to see these things uncovered. I am still amazed by the vitrified forts that I saw when I went out to some smaller islands on the West Coast of Scotland. Now there is a puzzle. These stone sites in New Zealand are fascinating.
Guys, please. I am interested in NZ's rich ancient history whom Maori referred to by many names. I have climbed Mt Tahanga which my researcher friend said was an adze making factory due to the fact that the hardest stone was here. Sheep graze over this hill and the grass is very short. I found an adze carved by human hand, and the area where these people worked the stone. I understand that Maori were more wood carvers than stone masons. I would love to hear why some Maori of today are so concerned about the rediscovery of our past and in fact I would relish an environment of cooperation between Pakeha and Maori. There are other sites I wish to explore in 2015 and make another short doco. It looks likely that the sudden demise of these fair skinned folk was through being "vanquished" by Maori. The past is the past and even in the middle ages one in 10 people died a violent death in Europe. The point I'm making is that an environment of confrontation and fear amongst us stifles discovery and enlightenment. I have heard a rumour of a cave with 3 metre plus tall skeletons for instance of ancient inhabitants here. It will be "fun and games" for sure trying track this down amidst fear and secrecy. If anyone knows of good doco material on this subject ...let me know. Regards John
youve got a pretty valid point my friend, Why are all the maori people so offended by the very idea of this? What is so frightening about finding out that Maori people were NOT the firstinhabitants of new zealand, and when you try back this with evidence they seem to get more and more defensive about protecting what they believe and completely denying the truth because of pure arrogance. i've read some pretty interesting books on celtics/vikings sailing over to new zealand. and ive read the story of rata, Interestingly enough you cant really google rata and learn about him.
sam halvorson most of us know the moriori were here first. Vikings settled here just afterwards, people believe that's where the morioris got their red hair and same with a few Maori tribes like ngatikahununu (my tribe) and many east coast tribes. So we do know. You always have stupid people in a bunch that think they know better.
Aaron Pickett Bearing in mind that the era of the Vikings was about 793AD to 1066AD when the Normans took over, what time period do you consider the Moriori to have settled in NZ if they were here before the Vikings? Also I would be keen to hear what evidence you have of Viking settlement in NZ other than red haired Maoris.
Turehu NZ How come up in northland we have stories of viking ships buried in the sand GPR was used on it and that has been confirmed oblisk's have been found five thousand non maori skeleton's pulled out of caves in te kopuro crushed up by white farmers for fertilizer and maori with names like pani ora which they themselves say came from spanish ancestor's. These people where not celt's when lumeria sunk it pushed Aotearoa up out of the pacific they fled to our land.We did not vanquish them as you say in some cases they became our chief's for their treasured knowledge and wisdom that's why we had a name for pakeha some tribes called them the pake pakeha but they didn't speak celt they spoke a dialect of maori.
Portugese have been here and if you read 1421 the Chinese were at Ruapuke Beach 350 years before Cook! .. I have an old book and there was an Egyptian skull found in NZ... Gary Cook has done a great job with this vid... who was in NZ first? 🤔🇳🇿

Does he actually think that early Irish people came to NZ? You can make the same comparisons to many cultures when looking at patterns cut into stone. He started off with a theory and went looking for things that would fit his preconceived ideas. That is not the way to study anything. Confirmation bias at it's worst.
So Maori couldn't do this please! this so centric in its theories, why do people have to try to erode Maori belonging by trying it on with this stuff. Who said Maori didn't have this knowledge and culture> Maybe you should embrace native Maori culture and assimilate or bugger off to Ireland where the Gaels will set you right with a back hander.
Bunji The anthropology Dept of Otago estimate Maori were in NZ about 1300 at Wairoa Bar Blenheim. We never said Maori didn't have this knowledge, although people reading this blog can make up their own mind whether a cannibalistic culture had sophisticated mathematic and astronomical abilities. If you are offended that Maori culture was a violent agressive culture....tough titties mate, history is what it is. "This stuff" as you call it has been around way before 1300AD and it is in Public interest to find out who these ancient people were. If you don't like what eventuates perhaps you can bugger off to "Hawaiiki" ...where ever that place is!
Archaeology is only as good as the last carbon date, who said ancestors of modern Iwi weren't there before then or another group who are today amalgamated into present Maori culture and as such form Maori ancestral connection through integration. Don't like that theory hey!

I am Irish and am fluent in Irish Gaelic, I am immersed in my Celtic language and culture for most of my life. There are many similarities between Maori culture and Irish Tradition. The Irish have an oral tradition in which history and genealogy is recorded. In ancient Ireland before it was colonised by the British our meeting houses and forts were exactly the same as the Maori. Our forts were called "rath" and were built on hills and surrounded by trenches and palisades. The Maori are very similar in character to the Irish . The Maori are the tangata whenua of Aotearoa and their history is as old and complex as is the Irish. I am learning Te Reo Maori. Soon I hope to come to Aotearoa and meet the magnificent Maori people and speak to them in their native language.
So Peter, would the symbols for instance on the headband which Maori wear, the chevron patterns and the lozenge within a lozenge be of Irish origin? Also did the ancient celts do a dance of some form which current Maori turned into a haka?
@@turehunz342 The Irish did indeed have a war dance and was a chant to the victory of their chieftain in battle. Often it ended with "(chieftain's name or tribe ) abú !" The English who saw this first hand often mis pronounced it and called it "hullabaloo" Hence the term " a lot of hullabaloo" i.e. a lot of dancing and chanting before a battle. The Romans often commented on the Celts war cries before battle. Caesar wrote in his book "Gallic Wars" that the Celts beat their swords against their shields and screamed battle cries and insults at their opponents. The Celts like to chop off the head of the leader of their enemies. Incidentally the vowel sounds of Irish Gaelic are exactly the same as the vowel sounds of Maori. These are pure sounds and are short or long and do not vary.
I am also of irish decent, living in New Zealand, and wanting to connect with culture, but finding a lot of cultural disease. It might sound stupid, but I tend to feel something, a duty. I feel connected to the land here more than I have before, but a lot of uncreative people who seem to lack empathy, keep telling me I should leave. I pick up the plastic they leave behind at the beaches. I think I might have some ambergris, but I'm not sure. Where is the community of creativity and culture? I feel it is being persecuted...
Patupaiarehe. I do think they integrated with us Maori. I have strands of orange hair on my head among my jet black hair and in my facial hair too, same with a few Maori I know. The last part of saying "The real tanga whenua." just be careful with how you tread with that statement. Maori have been ignored and disregarded for a long time and it has taken a long time to revive our culture. The manner in which it was delivered is a bit insulting, you are using a Maori term to disregard its own people so maybe think about that before posting.
+Trojan John : The Patupaiarehe would be the common ancestor of the white people in this country. They were fair skinned had blue/green eyes according to Maori oral tradition. For Maori to say they integrated with them is an insult to the mana of pakeha. There was no integration. Here we have an ancient well developed culture with the tiki, stick games, poi, koru etc. Over a millenia later polynesians arrive , get taught Patupaiarehe culture, then butcher and cannibalise these peaceful people then usurp their culture and call it Maori. What an insult! The only integration is through conquest and rape, so those with Patupaiarehe blood in them should be ashamed. I'd keep quiet about it.
+Jon Teriini Not bullshit mate. This info is from the mouths of Maori elders to the early missionaries. So by the stance you are taking, you are saying those early Maori Kaumatua are a bunch of untrustworthy bull shitters??
+Jon Teriini So you want to talk about racism? Maoridom is a racist culture. 1) The Maori Party is solely concerned with Maori issues...racist. If a Celtic party was formed to only be concerned about Pakeha issues which group would be the first to jump up and down? 2) The Maori All Blacks is a racist team selected on race NOT by merit. Again imagine if there was a European All Blacks Team excluding those with a drop of Maori blood....which group would be jumping up and down crying unfair? 3) The NZ Sports awards have of course Female and Male catagories but also the Maori Sportswoman/man awards, the latter of which can be included for the NZ Sports Awards! Absolutely RACIST! Milne Nehe Skudder won a Maori Rugby Award, why not have a Samoan, European or Tongan Award? RACIST. As for cowardly behaviour the Maori are the biggest cowards. Not once have I heard a "thank you" from Maoridom for all the money, special treatment and handouts given to them by the taxpayer and yet on many occassions there have been formal apologies to iwi for whatever incident hurt their fragile feelings....get real you parasite!

The ancient people (Neolithic) who came to New Zealand, possibly as early as 4500 years ago; most likely from Ireland, encoded their cyclic-astronomical, calendar and navigational sciences into the positions of standing stones. The sciences were encoded as numbers, forever extractable by precise distance and angle measurements from the central hubstone to an outer marker stone. Standing stone arrangements acted like libraries of coded distances and angles and, as long as the stones remained in place, they were eternal repositories and sentinels of the in-built codes. Further to that, standing stones could be solar observatories for accurate fixes onto the equinoxes and solstices, surveying alignments markers for land-mapping or waymark-trail positions for travellers. Using the overhead star map combined with other very advanced, mathematical, positional-plotting or dead-reckoning techniques, these ancient people could calculate their position anywhere on this planet and could, thus, sail the 7-seas and survive.
Aaron Morgan The tangible evidence in Ireland and for that matter the Orkney Islands, England and Scotland is in the precise arrangement of the standing stones and henges. A circular mound some distance around these henges would provide the horizon. Using relationships of angles and distance in relation to the sun and moon these ancient people ran navigational schools and taught the scholars the use of hub stone positioning as solar calendars. They were obsessed with the marking of the seasons and of time.
It could have been the other way around. when the Asians moved through europe and put those stones there then moved from there with some of the Israelites to inhabit the rest of the planet.
Polynesian mythology or oral-traditions speak of master mariners, such as Maui or Rata, passing through the Pacific, but the original lands of origin for these sailors have never been fully established. A best guess is that they were Phoenician or Egyptian. Since the dawn of the colonial era, anomalous, non-Polynesian skeletons of former, pre-Maori people have been observed in burial caves or as trussed-burials in sand dunes. Some were very tall, reaching around 8-feet, while others were of a small pygmy race of only 4-feet tall. Yet others were of ordinary stature. These people did not have the Polynesian rocker-jaw and many were observed to have red or blond hair. These kinds of remains still exist in remote locations and should be forensically tested … instead of being turned over to iwi for immediate destruction whenever they are discovered, as is presently the case and official policy. Megalithic structures are found across the entirety of the New Zealand landscape and, hopefully, these things can be the subject matter of on-going videos.
I've never heard of "'Rata" but "Maui tikitiki a Taranga" is remembed in tribal histories as one of the 'Dream makers', along with "Kiwa" and Hotu Matua, Tamatea mai Tawhiti and Ngahue and Poutini. Maui like Hotu Matua was descended of the Te Maoriori people of east Africa while Kiwa was the first Pae Arahi, the great Trail Maker of the Urukehu people of Peru...
Aaron Morgan Admiral Rata, was the greek commander of the red sea fleet. he commanded the Ptolmey III feleet that sailed from the red sea in 232BC in an attempt to prove correct Eratosthenes's theory that the earth was round. Maui, the Egyption was a principal navigator in admiral Rata's fleet as it sailed down the red sea and headed east looking for new lands. he sailed all the way from the red sea to new zealand and he made stops along the way in parts of the world like new guinea. rock carvings have been found in new zealand, Fiji, pitcairmn islands, santiago and easter island. these are incisions all point to people who were not poynesian landing in these locations laying a crude depiction of the navigational instruments used on the voyage and a greek - egyption royal symbol carved into the stone. there is no known record of any of rata's people returning to the red sea or to alexandria. I've heard many maui storys but Maui being a Phoenician navigator. And Rata being the admiral
sam halvorson Wrong , we know that anciept Egyptians or greeks did not have the capability to travel 21 thousand kilometers to New Zealand , there is also zero evidence to suggest otherwise. Egpytion or greek history does not even mention this journey. Which would have been far beyond the capabilities of navigation in those days. Also Fiji, tonga and samoa were alredy populated by then The ancestors of Polynesians no doubt probability are descended from ancient egypt people hence some of the similarities We also share thousands of similarities with south east asian languages from where migrated to the pasfic , AUT University professor Paul Moon said the authors lacked credibility as none of the writers had any qualifications in history, archaeology, anthropology or related disciplines.Ptolemy's maps were not an indication at all that New Zealand was discovered by the Greeks or Egyptians, he said."This is no evidence at all that people came to New Zealand at this time. On the contrary, Ptolemy's map shows a complete lack of geographical knowledge about the South Pacific," Moon said.Sorry
Mita TeTai youve got nothing to back up your statement other then the fact its your word over mine. Mate go and read some old forbidden history books of new zealand and discoverer it for yourself. im not going to sit here and argue with people like you over this sort of shit. I honestly dont care if you dissagree. im not wrong. i dont care what you think either lol. The Egyptians and greeks did have capible ships and sea worthy ships that COULD sail those distances around the planet and more. there were even ancient and old maps they had created with a rough picture of new zealand on them. go and read up history on it before you try and tell somebody they are wrong when really you're wrong. and very ignorant of the truth. Like i said i dont care what you think so if you comment back im just gonna block you. if you dont like it. Dont read it.
sam halvorson I have nothing baking my statement up? Michael King a well respected historian wrote in his history of New Zealand, "Despite a plethora of amateur theories about Melanesian, South American, Egyptian, Phoenician and Celtic colonisation of New Zealand, there is not a shred of evidence that the first human settlers were anything other than Polynesian Richard Hill, professor of New Zealand Studies at Victoria University of Wellington, said in 2012, "Not one of [the theories] has ever passed any remote academic scrutiny. Hugh Laracy of the University of Auckland called them "wild speculation" that has been "thoroughly disposed of by academic specialists. I can go on and on lmao , they know alot more than you and I. No i'm sorry thats complete bullshit. If the egyptions did infact travel to New Zealand , wouldnt it be well known? not just new zealand history but world history en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_maritime_history The Histories 4.42) -- in Herodotus' time it was not generally known that Africa was surrounded by an ocean (with the southern part of Africa being thought connected to Asia And you mean to tell me they traveld 20,000km to new zealand? LOL Why isn't there no mention ? This is the world acording to herodotus 440bc (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_maritime_history#/media/File:Herodotus5m1.jpg) "how did the Egyptians construct vessels that could make a round-trip voyage of up to 3,000 km?" Notice how surpised they are that egyption boats can travel only a meer 3,000 km? (discovermagazine.com/2011/jun/02-egypts-lost-fleet-its-been-found) "scholars had long known that Egyptians traveled to Punt, but they debated its exact location and whether the Egyptians reached Punt by land or by sea. Some had thought the ancient Egyptians did not have the naval technology to travel long distances by sea, but the findings at Wadi Gawasis confirmed that Egyptians sailed a 3,000km round trip voyage to Punt, located in what is today Ethiopia or Yemen, Ward said." Again there is debate whether the egpytions traveld 3000 km let alone 20,000km through open water And even more so , the journey to punt is a straight line following the coast of the red sea So to your statement "The Egyptians and greeks did have capible ships and sea worthy ships that COULD sail those distances around the planet and more" No, No they could not have Good day LMAO
The OG people of this land were here when it was this continent was much much bigger and today it is known as Zealandia ... Those who lived in the highest mountains survived the catastrophy that followed which lowered most of the continent into the sea (hence ,if you walk to the end of the earth you`ll fall off) and surely some1 saw that ..
I can tell you with 100% certainty these stones were not placed by ancient europeans. There is not a single shred of physical evidence to support this statement. "Conventional history tells us" maori were the first to arrive around 1300AD. You find ancient stones and immediately declare the most unconventional answer for it. So did the europeans place those stones and sail back to europe. No because they didn't know how to navigate the pacific. Polynesians were the first to do this.
The Hills Maori Pas were on, were built by Celtics. They have found MOA bones actually cut, not broken like Maori. Plus there were skeletons in Coffins. Maori found in caves. Maori said they weren't Maori people.
Very interesting. I have read much about Waitaha but have not heard of an Irish link this early to New Zealand. My grandparents came out from Ireland in 1922, and it would be wonderful to know the truth of this. How can we get the information released earlier than 2063 as I'm sure most Kiwi's would want to know the truth of it.
what you're talking about is made up nonsense. there is no evidence of any people in nz prior to the arrival of the polynesian ancestors of maori from around 1250AD.
@@judioliver8082 lolz you need to check what you accept as evidence. myths are not evidence, and the fantasies of unqualified kooks and amateurs are not evidence. actual science shows no evidence of people in nz before 1250AD.
Mate you are speaking truth. I am impressed that I can find a few videos on this subject from the recent years. Time to take our fight to the big men. Thank you for shedding light on the ancient world wide culture from before the flood.. 😁We The patupairehe shared the land with the Turehu and Panenehu in those times.
It needs to be noted the Maori are by race, cannibals.

In Tokelau, Spanish Explorers described their meeting with a canoe party of natives when they discovered Olohega, describing in detail some of them being white in skin, some with freckles and reddish in hair and so named it "Isla De La Gente Hermosa" meaning Island of Beautiful People.
Stonehenge must have been built by modern brits, then, seeing as similar structures can be found all over modern britian
rahowhero where
Whatu Wikohika he was being sarcastic....He is stating a similar scenario but in a European context. It was well stated.
_"The whole idea that the archaeological community is taking part in a conspiracy to suppress knowledge for which evidence exists I find fairly unbelievable -"_
While I find your comment very interesting, I feel obliged to correct this assumption.

There are stories of some of Tuhoe having children with the people that were all ready here. Rereke nei(respect to other beliefs, this is just a story there are many and to each their own. This is a story on my marae and our whakapapa, children of the mist. We are descendants of a long line of chiefs and the people that were made of the clay of this land. But all Maori come from royal lines and each marae has a great story. Go and listen to the descendants laugh, song & eat with them. I have been to 8 marae so far and love listening to their stories it is like I am on a voyage through time. It seems to me that maybe, just like my ancestors. The Irish too could see through the vail and in doing so could also astral project their consciousness over distances. If your looking for science to prove this it’s called quantum physics (just a food for thought)
Michael King wrote in his history of New Zealand, "Despite a plethora of amateur theories about Melanesian, South American, Egyptian, Phoenician and Celtic colonisation of New Zealand, there is not a shred of evidence that the first human settlers were anything other than Polynesian",[10] and Richard Hill, professor of New Zealand Studies at Victoria University of Wellington, said in 2012, "Not one of [the theories] has ever passed any remote academic scrutiny."[8] Hugh Laracy of the University of Auckland called them "wild speculation" that has been "thoroughly disposed of by academic specialists."[9]
Another historian, Vincent O'Malley, and the New Zealand Archaeological Association regard the theories as having a racist or at least a political element, seeking to cast doubt on Waitangi Tribunal claims.[8][11] Scott Hamilton in "No to Nazi Pseudo-history: an Open Letter" further explains objections to the theories of Bolton and Doutré (and the website Ancient Celtic New Zealand).[12]

In the Caribbean where I am from there are the same indentations on stones referred to as work holes. Very similar spirals carved into the stones and caves, made by a people whose name has long been lost, they predate the Kalinago (Caribs) and the Arawaks.
Ngamoko Nikora You show me proof of the Kiore Rat carbon dating of 1250 AD!
Is the New Zealand govt. afraid of the past?

We will allways be set in our beliefs its what made us today 🙄

Had the maoris discovered the wheel before the Europeans arrived in New Zealand?

I think everyone should read this email. Its by a former NZ judge and Law Lecturer, and whether they like it or not all families should read it and be aware of what’s is happening
In June 2022, Anthony Willy, former Judge and Law Lecturer, said
“The catch cry ‘democracy does not work for Maori’ has become the mantra for the destruction of democracy.
Quite simply we are witnessing a coup designed to dismantle our democracy and the Rule of Law and replace it with the worst form of tribalism coupled with the greed of those who want what they have not earned.”
The rollout of the Government’s He Puapua plan to establish Maori sovereignty by 2040 is proceeding at breathtaking speed.
One way in which they became distinct is that the adopted “nunuku’s law” of non violence. Back in nz at that time Māori were probably not very violent as there were plenty of resources and low population density. Later inter tribal warfare increased, then with the introduction of muskets all hell broke loose. Taranaki iwi ngati mutunga and ngati tama were displaced by northern iwi, moved south to Wellington, then took a British ship and guns to take the lands and people of the chathams for themselves. some of the Maori women had ancient Persian/Indo European DNA and many red haired descendants.

There seems to be some misunderstanding.
I’m not sure why people cite legends (of giants) as evidentiary proof of existence of anything, unless they’re also claiming Bigfoot and Leprechauns ALSO exist.🤷♂️

It written in the bible the fish that feeds thousands and Giants dinosaur and aliens these people's in corporation church royalty they know
I don't think the human race existed 180 million years ago, which was when Gondwanaland started drifting apart.

As an Irish man living in nz now that is very interesting reading Peter, cheers for the information, also good luck with the te reo

Using the overhead star map combined with other very advanced, mathematical, positional-plotting or dead-reckoning techniques, these ancient people could calculate their position anywhere on this planet and could, thus, sail the 7-seas and survive.
so your pre celtic mariners sailed from ireland to new zealand some 170 generations ago by which route and for what purpose ?
and what tangible evidence did they leave in ireland of this supposed maritime prowess much less there actuall existence ?
Aaron Morgan
Who knows why these ancient Mariners left Ireland. They were very clever navigators and could sail the seven seas and they did.
Aaron Morgan
The tangible evidence in Ireland and for that matter the Orkney Islands, England and Scotland is in the precise arrangement of the standing stones and henges. A circular mound some distance around these henges would provide the horizon. Using relationships of angles and distance in relation to the sun and moon these ancient people ran navigational schools and taught the scholars the use of hub stone positioning as solar calendars. They were obsessed with the marking of the seasons and of time.
Turehu NZ Tuatha Dé Danann
It could have been the other way around. when the Asians moved through europe and put those stones there then moved from there with some of the Israelites to inhabit the rest of the planet.

Some fucking rocks? That's your evidence?!
