    Thank you!! That was super helpful. Now how to create a reset button that resets to specific parameters?

      Thank you! This isn't your exact ask, but it may help: www.tableau.com/about/blog/2015/8/how-dynamically-set-default-values-quick-filters-43563

    Thanks for sharing. Any way to add an option to clear a search box while resetting all other filters?

    Hey Anthony this is awesome, btw do you think it’s doable to apply reset all function to parameter filter also?

    Thanks so much for this video, Anthony. Super helpful to see it done. However, the action doesn't seem to work on filters that "apply to all worksheets using this data source". Any tips?

    • @dfir2570
      @dfir2570 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there, go into all the other filters where it says 'apply all' and in the target sheet deselect whatever you have called your 'reset all sheet' - now when you click the button it should reset all actions - assuming i have understood what you are asking. You might have to double click the button for it to work fully.

    How to deselect action filters (highlighting) when reset

    • @AnthonySmoak
      @AnthonySmoak  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't figured that out yet. I know it can be annoying to see a selection still highlighted after the reset.

    How can you reset the filters to a default value?

    Is there a way to reset button not to select anything in the filter, basically reset button should clear out all selection

    • @AnthonySmoak
      @AnthonySmoak  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reset button does clear out the filter selections, does it not?

    How about reset highlights?
    Unfortunately I added an action filter to one graph. When I click one date, then other graphs will stay even though I clicked my reset filters because the highlight in my first graph is not removed yet.
    I prefer to use action filter so the user can easily filter the data if he/she saw a spike in the trend -- they will just click it.

    How to reset filters for all fields not for selected fields it is possible?

    • @AnthonySmoak
      @AnthonySmoak  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to select the fields you want to reset. If you want to reset all fields then select all of the fields. I haven't found a shortcut.

    I'm connected to multiple data sources (5) and this method doesn't seem to work. Is there a workaround for using multiple data sources? Thank you

    • @AnthonySmoak
      @AnthonySmoak  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Zachary. That's a good question, I have never experimented with multiple data sources. The forums may be of help here.

  • @thisisbige7970

    If I have a dashboard with files from different data sources, do I need to create a new button for all of the different data sources? Not all the tabs have the same filters does that matter?

    • @AnthonySmoak
      @AnthonySmoak  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't had an opportunity to test that scenario. Try it out and let us know!
