I remember meeting you at the Ralph's in Inglewood and now I'm a home owner and your videos are definitely helping me out. This is all sonew to me but m glad I have your videos.
hi I’m a 14 year old trying to start a business and I want to say thnak you so much this really help me learn I couldn’t even find I video about this at least not as good and in-depth as this one
So proud of you for taking the time & initiative to fully educate yourself on this! I'm 26 and about to hold a weed eater for the FIRST time. Practice makes perfect, if you put your heart into it, you're gonna do amazing!
Just wanted to thank you for this informative video as this was my very first time to use a weedeater on my own so I had to turn to TH-cam for instruction and your video covered everything I needed to operate. Informative and through. Thank you for the knowledge shared. 🙏😉👌🏽.
thank you so much for this video! my husband is sick and sleeping so i wanted to surprise him and i just mowed my lawn for the first time and now i’m getting ready to whipper snip!😂
this is a really good tutorial especially for a beginner like me. (If there are any other beginners out there, I would recommend this video, it's very informative and goes over safety too.)
Thank you for making this video. My dad taught me how to mow the lawn when I was single digits but I never learned how to weed eat or edge. Now I’m in charge of my own lawn and I want it to look nice!! Now to get rid of the ants 😭
I left home at 17 and have hopped from place to place since. I’m now rooming in a house with all women two toddlers and a cat with an overgrown fence and back yard. I used to live with my father and stepmother who gardens but they always did the yard work when I was busy or paid someone else. I now need to cut along these fences so my cat and the children can roam free. Thanks for the video
Thank you so much for this video. You went in depth and detail which was extremely helpful compared to the other videos I have tried to watch. With no real father figure/male influence, it has been difficult to find actual informative videos for little things like this. Now, at 31 years old, I'm about to use a weed trimmer for the first time. Wish me luck (since I am a klutz) 😂
If I may add a suggestion but before I do that let me explain a very common mistake most people make when mowing their lawn, now as with any lawn mower be it walk behind or riding, there is an adjustment on the wheels and on the tractor you have a handle that adjusts the mowing height, as a rule I always set my mowing height to 3-4", never any lower during the mowing season, now let me explain why I do this, #1 raising the height to your mower or tractor deck allows for a more lush thick healthy lawn that will keep the sun away from your lawns roots, the sun will kill your lawn if you mow lower than 3-4", I always use the #4 setting and every year I get people stopping asking how I get my lawn looking so beautiful, now doing this is not the end of the work involved in caring for your lawn, I also apply the Walmart cheap Sta Green fertilizer twice a year, now this won't work for every lawn as I live in the Deep South where the temperatures get above 3 digits daily and I must water my lawn daily, In my neck of the woods we call cutting your grass to the ground Scalping, contrary to what you may have been told about the benefits of cutting your grass less if you scalp your lawn let's just say "Somebody done told you wrong", I hope this helps someone have a more beautiful lawn.
Just came here from your crimper/wire cutter tool vid and you've got a new subscriber. Its like having a cool neighbour who drops little nuggets of knowledge when you're having a chat over the garden fence 😂
I searched up “weed wacker” cause I felt like that would’ve gotten the results I was looking for, but I instantly clicked on this video just because it said “weed eater” cause that’s what I’ve always called them lol Can’t wait to use this video to clear the yard, thank you!
I’m 42 years old and I’ve used lawn mowers, tractors, chainsaws and more but never a weed eater. I live in the woods and simply never had a reason to have all the grass around something like a post perfectly trimmed. But here we are and Monday morning I’m going to work with my friend all week to run a weed eater. I hope I don’t embarrass myself lol!
Thank you so much! A lawn care place quoted me $350 NOPE so I decided to learn how to do it myself. I have the tools just never learned how to do this.
On Milwaukee you pass the string throught the guides withouth opening the cap and just twist. No need to hand restring. I hope this helps, It was a headache for me to change string until I found out the hack 😊
If they are rocks that can’t be or won’t be removed, your two hands are probably the best tool. If they can be, then several tools are available though all are not power tools- hori hori knife, stirrup hoe etc.
This is a great how to! Will it be ok to reference this video to my students in my lawnpreneur bootcamp? If we could chat offline. I have a couple questions for you or email.
Thank you for that Easy breakdown.. how do you clear away the cut grass? Will a leaf blower also have a vacuum effect? I'm new to yards And would appreciate helpful tips because I have and HOA and want to avoid fines.
@@Ch33no look at your trimmer from the operating position. The cutting head rotates anticlockwise. If you use the left side of the head for cutting, the grass and debris will be flung toward you by the rotating string/blade. If you use the right side the debris will be flung ahead of you. Position yourself accordingly and you will see the difference yourself.
Good informative video, thank you! I am looking for videos to send my husband, he's never had to deal with what I got going on out here. You should try weed eating this damn jungle I got to deal with! It is TOUGH!
I do have some questions though; do you weed whack or mow first? Can weed whacking be done with an edger? And do you need to run the weed whacker over the ENTIRE lawn, or just a bit?
Weed whack first. Better to use a weed wacker over an edger, because you can use a wacker to edge as well. Use it to hit high weeds over the entire lawn.
Hey boss just wanted to let you know you are loading that Milwaukee trimmer incorrectly. The cap has red lines and if you line it up with the holes that say “load” you will notice a cavity that will allow you to pass the string all the way through. You then simply take a few feet of string put one end through the hole so i comes out of the other side and walk it back so that there’s an equal length on both ends. Then you twist the cap which will roll up the string inside the spool and once it’s loaded to a normal length you are good to go!
*Watches video. Take weed whacker to lawn. Begin edging lawn next to concrete driveway. Instant nylon string break. Throws weed whacker back into the garage, pulls out Sawzall and trim it this way lol.
I never weed eated it in my life I'm going through a divorce now I have to. I got a Craftsman electric one from someone used. I tried to cut with it it is cutting my legs

Great instructions and orientation to my weed eater. Thanks so much!
Hey, glad it helped.
When you bump it to feed more string, do you do it on the concrete or…
You can but that would degrade the tool faster. You can bump it on the grass.

tried to use your tips today, never again just got fired thanks alot raul

Thank you, sir! I'm about to go outside and try. Nervous about holding my hand steady 😬
Lol. You’ll be fine.
Is it just one gauge or you can lower the gauge for shorter grass?
Thanks for the vid, question will the string be damaged by hitting around a fence post?
No, it will get worn down over time or possibly cut if the metal is sharp.
Informative video 👍, Thanks
Glad it helped.
Great tips. I need to get one for my house
Good add on.
Thank you! GOD bless you!!!
Glad it helped. Be blessed.
Rocky areas is what I need the trimmer for! My lawn mower won't get into the nooks and crannies. So what do you suggest I use instead?

Any way to do it without getting covered in grass? I've tried different angles . Is there a trick to it?
Good question. Weed eaters sometimes have shields or string covers for that. They’re called grass deflectors.
