Well chickadee, I’m 70- love my favorite thrift starting full on Christmas September 1. I sell on line& love adding Christmas to the mix. I feel like Covid changed our thinking re: early acknowledging the holiday. We needed the joy & community. The old angst was against commercialism, the new is fueled by nostalgia. Elizabeth

One more comment from me! I'm in Texas. Still having days in the 80's - 90's. Lived in Ohio for 3 years and the holiday season (fall into Christmas) was magical with the cool to cold and snowy weather. I'm jealous! 👵🤣
I always look at ornament displays because you never know when a nifty one will turn up!
IN PAST YEARS I BROUGHT FALL IN AUG 31st & CHRISTMAS/HOLIDAY ITEMS OCT 31st. THIS YEAR I DECIDED EVEN THOUGH I RECEIVED FRIENDLY BOO'S FROM FELLOW VENDOR'S, I STARTED FALL AUG 1st, THIS WAS A VERY GOOD DECISION AND HAPPY WITH THE SALES. TOOK HOLIDAY IN OCT 1st, HOPEFULLY SALES WILL CONTINUE TO BE GOOD. THX~ENJOYED YOUR VIDEO TONIGHT & HOPEFULLY YOUR SALES WILL BE MERRY & BRIGHT THIS HOLIDAY SEASON ‼️

I shop for Christmas all year and wish more booths would carry Christmas items year round, even if they carry a small section. You are a smart business owner. Halloween is also a huge seller. 🌻✨️
Great Video!!!! The most important thing is to SALE!!!! Having a Booths is a job. Not a hobby. I shop for Christmas year around. Now I looking for Spring and Garden items for 2024. A lot for great tips!!!!! 😊

I have noticed how early the retail stores have Christmas items this year too. I have a booth, this is my first year and have wondered when to start the transition so I'm glad to see this video. I also have an Etsy Shop and yes!, my one kind of ornaments sold even in the summer. 😊
I sell Christmas all year long. I have a back alley between my space and the next vendor booth to display Christmas without offending anyone. The owner isn't a fan of displaying Christmas early, but if we can "hide" it, she's okay with it. Your display is perfectly curated.

It is never too early for Christmas! I would buy so much if I were there! I use a ladder like that in my house for decisions. I also have one in my garden. Thank you for making a Christmas tour !!!

I work at my mall as a cashier as well and Christmas does sells all year long. One of our vendors sold out of most of her markdown Buyers Choice Dolls in August!

Having a retail background always made me want to decorate early. But the lady who ran the store was managed by the other booth people who were extra jealous. They would complain if I would put something up even before Thanksgiving. One of the many reasons I quit. I wish I would have carried it on though.
Maybe you can start a new booth.
We are also thinking about putting Christmas in our booths now to get a jump on the sales since no one else has much out!

I think you are right about bringing in your Christmas items in early. I don’t have mine up yet. Where I have my booth the owner asked me about 2 weeks ago if I could bring in my Christmas items. 😮 He told me that people are buying it. He also said I should consider putting it out all year because customers do buy it all year as well which I did not know. I usually don’t put mine up until after Halloween but now I think that might be too late.

Last week I brought Christmas into my small booth. This weekend my small booth is turning into my Christmas booth… I’m pricing things as I type. Absolutely no one has purchased anything Christmas from my booth from last week till today. I’m in Arkansas and we are a lil slow here. I have faith Christmas purchasing will happen soon crossing my fingers. 😊

Our store owner requires we take out seasonal items within 2 weeks after the holiday. I put a few Christmas items in my booth in early September and they sold quickly.
Excellent timing for this video!! We just opened our first booth in February, and signed up to open a second booth Oct 15. We are going to have it only be a Christmas booth (using furniture that’s for sale to stage items). Thx; excellent advice in this video.
Also, today in my shop I started working on some projects that are just waiting for me to finish them up. I kept hearing your voice saying, “it’s not making you any money if it’s sitting in your basement.” It inspired me to get those items finished, so we can get it in our booth and sell it. LOL Great minds...At 4:10 I was getting ready to write exactly what you said...use part of your booth for Christmas. But going a couple more steps, some of the marts near me have vendors with Christmas year-round. (Doesn't work for me. I'm always a season BEHIND! LOL) Anyway, with a booth this HUGE,, you might consider using a portion of it for year-round Christmas. (my whole apt is 800 sf and I'm sitting here looking around and wondering how I would fill it with stuff. 1300 sf = Gigantic!!)
Opinion: yeah, too early for Christmas but in these days with everyone working sometimes more than just one job, we don't have the leisure of shopping during the "holiday season" as we once did. Are any of you old enough to remember the days of Christmas shopping starting the day after Thanksgiving, dressing up to shop, meeting friends for lunch, and trying to find spots for the huge shopping bags stuffed full?
I do remember after Thanksgiving shopping. I have seen a bunch of Christmas booth all year at other malls. I just don’t have that much stuff to stay stocked all year, but maybe one day. Thanks for watching,
What do you charge for the jar with old colored light bulbs? Great idea!
I think around $8. Things in jars and bags have been selling well at my mall...so I am always looking for more to put in jars or bags.
Have you ever made or considered making " gift baskets" for Christmas? If so...how did that work for you? I was thinking of trying it in my booth, like a table cloth, matching napkins, napkin rings. Maybe a bread board or cutting board, , rolling pin, cookie cutters, and a recipe from an old cookbook?.. put them in a basket, or tie everything together on a cutting board? Let me know if this is good idea or too " expensive" for the average buyer? Maybe price everything individually OR they can purchase All at a slightly reduced rate?
I think it might be worth a try. I have found my customers are PICKY. They want what they want. What has sold well for me are grab bags. They can't see what is in inside so they like the thrill of it. I have done "junk" grab bags, but other dealers in the mall have tried other things and we can't keep them in stock.
So what kind of things do you put in the grab bags? Are they all the same price or different prices? What price range are you talking? I'm very interested in trying that!
People buy when they see the things they collect and yes I buy Christmas year round. I don't have much time to go antiquing in fall or december so I wouldn't see your Christmas items.
