My hometown is from the Pampas and it borders an area full of pristine Atlantic Forest (which is a small mountain range), it's right between were these two biomes collide. That was my backyard for quite some time during my childhood and early teen years, lots of fond memories and great natural beauty. I always come back to visit when I can.

The forest shown in the video is the Atlantic Rainforest, not the Amazon Rainforest, but also in Brazil.

With hundreds of thousands square kilometers and distances in thousands of km, it can be hardly called "mini". It is a pretty large primary forest. But thanks for documentary! We love Mata Atlantica! 1:48 Morretes! Who can, try the tourist train from Curitiba to Morretes!
Mata Atlantica, smaller Amazonia where you need sweather :-) Above, on the plateau near Curitiba, sometimes there is a snow on the araucarias on the edge of the Atlantic Forest. Snowy tropical forest.

The problem here is to state that this incredibly important, this unique biome, is a "mini Amazon"! It's hard enough to make the world understand the existence of the Atlantic rainforest without implying that it is something else than what it really is. The Amazon is the Amazon, and the Atlantic rainforest is its own very important biome! It isn't the Amazon!

I’m Brazilian and my father bought a property in the middle of Atlantic Forest 50years ago . Now no one can build anything. It became a little village only for those who’s already there .
More intreview than show the forest
The forest does need to be preserved, but perhaps there are corporations or governments interested in the region's mineral wealth, manipulating public opinion. Have you thought about how much carbon the lethal weapons of war and entire naval fleets release into the environment? How much plastic is dumped into the oceans, the real oxygen producer, by unbridled consumption? Research about programmed obsolescence, how many heavy metals and how bad is it for the environment to constantly change cell phones? Who is the villain? There is no good or bad in geopolitics, there are interests.

Such an amazing forest. Very disappointing that it has shrunk so much due to human activity.
So true. The forest is smaller than it used to be, but we all must protect our biodiversity while we still have it. Not to mention how beautiful this biome is, right? 🌱🌳
