Slime was only suppose to get one season but it was so hyped they did a season 2 and they are continuing it. The teaser at the end was suppose to try to get people into the light novel for them to continue.

When Shizu talked about the hero to Rimuru, when the Hero left her, the hero said "I'm certain we'll meet again". As you know they didn't, so why was the Hero so sure of it ? Make what you want from this
@@Angel_Rod and the spirit that came into chloe IS the hero (you just need to rewatch earlier episodes to confirm it's the same person). The spirit also appears to have abilities to travel through time (at least somewhat) so I don't think your theory is that crazy. P.s. There is a further hint in the next episode about the mask btw.
The part where Rimuru summons a demon to replace the golem he destroyed is glossed over, and another comment explained it but they actually animated a new scene about it. I believe it was inserted in reruns and the Blu-Rays in Japan, as well as on TH-cam on the Bandai Spirits channel but was region-locked to Japan.
