A hint about Chloe is the mask Rimiru gave her that he copied is actually the same one Shizu gave him.
So from what I heard, not sure if it’s 100% true, but the reason that one part where Rimuru said, “but hey, that’s a different story,” was because the studio wasn’t sure that they were going to get a season two at the time so they figured they wrap it up as is. Which is why the start of season 2 jumps around, as you’ll see.

Chrona time loop is more confusing than 11th physics
The series was suppose to only have one season to get people into the manga n light novel.
But people made enough noise so they released the ODA last 3 episodes to show less rushed content. Then when they released season 2 they also showed extra set up they skipped to get everything set for things going forward. You will love season 2 ^_^
The best girl appeared with an epic entrance . You have to wait for S4 to understand the greatness of her.
Another thing: She isn’t Shizue

@@silver7215 cuz we already know what season 3 gonna cover (which is coming at April). And tensura will definitely get a full adaptation. So we also know what arcs S4 gonna contain
In episode 4, in the crystal ball for his destined person, we actually first see Chloe and then Shizue is shown.
Everybody doesn't seems to realize this but shizu is now irrelevant

You can skip the first 2 episodes of the OAD and watch the last 3.

The person looking in the crystal ball isnt a villain, but you will learn his deal in the next episode...this is the finsl episode as far as progression of the story so they did the wrap up in this episode

If you go back to the episode where the elf shows Rimuru his destiny you can tell who his destiny really was.
The episodes 3, 4, and 5 of the ODA should be watched after episode 24. Episodes 1 and 2 are just fan service, cute but not important to the storyline. The first 5 or 6 episodes will go back in time a litte bit to show what was happening while Rimuru was teaching. I'd watch Veldora's Journal if you want another recap from Veldora's POV.
The OVA's 3, 4 and 5 is a 3 episode arc, original to the anime but still fully canon. You will enjoy season 2 better if you watch them before you start it.

Yeah I feel there's a connection between Shizu, Chloe and Hinata, the Hero role, this superior spirit and Rimuru.

8:17 nope sins her spirit rests in rimuru, her and shizu completely different ppl (SPOILER BELOW)
thing is Shizu trained the hero, there the connection, and in future she traveled back in time to change past and also Shizu's pathm hero knew she cant save her but were setting her in to path meeting rimuru to eventually save rimuru cause each think makes rimuru stronger even devouring Shizu, biggest change ofc is meeting Veldora early on (she sealed him in that cave to create their early meeting), in her time lime this happened later, reason he was weaker and was killed

This ep shows just how much they rushed/skipped in order to make it a more self enclosed story. In season 2 youll see them jump back in time to they can fill out the crucial stuff they skipped over (beginning of relations with the animal kingdom) before they come back to the end bit with rimuru leaving. Its annoying that they yada yada over the birth of berareta this episode too. They spend so much of ending doing multiple montages but relagate rimuru summoning his first demon to "oh this happened but its a story for another time" >.

About the only complaint about season 2 that I'm aware of is its slow moments. There's a lot of world building and political stuff, and not too many people were thrilled about that. It's essential to the story though.
