Chloe is actually a very important character in the future if they keep making the anime and I won't say she's been Sensei-Zoned, even he said if only she waited a few more years. Won't spoil anything, but this episode gave major hints at some future events, including introducing several future characters. The demon waiting to be summoned by Rimuru and the girl at the end that may or may not be introduce in the last (I think) 2 episodes, but I feel like they need more then that to properly setup those events, unless they leave the season on a cliff hanger....

Overlord's anime is too rushed, the 3rd season is 3 novels crushed into 13 episodes.
I recommend to start reading the volume 10, the latest one is 13 so there is a lot more of stuff to read.

I love both novels, they both rank as my top 5 favourites. Having read both I absolutely love overlord’s plot and setting especially vol 13 i thought it was a masterpiece.

running theory: That superior spirit was a time spirit and the hero from Shizu's backstory who she was supposed to fight but bonded with instead before deciding to take her own path is actually Chloe, her future student having gone back in time

Doesn't make sense though, since Rimiru has yet to summon him, and as we know for both Demons and Spirits, they are not individually sapient, or rather they only exist once they are summoned. Like the Superior Light Spirit, he's the same entity as the one Leon summoned, but not the actually the same being.
The main story is complete (for this season). The next 2 episodes are extras, so they're filler. Hopefully there will be a season 2.
If there will be a season 2, then the first episode will be lit!
I hope that one of those two extra episodes will be the adaptation of “Veldora’s slime observation journal”

the first one that spirit looks much like the hero that sealed veldora and the teacher of shizu, and 'probably' the adult chloe. If that so, the mask is not given but returned to its original owner, and chloe itself time travelled to the past to make sure her self child is safe, don't know if it's true, maybe i'm just trippin right now

It is. She was Leon's best friend on Earth. Yuuki summoned her from the past so he could use her as his summon. Her unique skill allows her to traverse time between points where she exists. So once she obtains the magicules and time skills from her adult self,

and the Hero's Egg from Hinata who is under Yuuki's influence via soul puppetry curse until Hinata is killed/brought to the point of death temporarily.
At that point Chloe is sent back to right after her previous self was summoned forward, and trained until she becomes the hero.
Her soul can only exist in one place at a single point in time. Thus right before her young self is summoned, her adult body was put in a time stasis. Once her young self is sent back, her adult self will awaken with her soul returned.
She looked mournful as a spirit because she died later on. Once she falls in battle her soul returns to the Spirit Summoning with all memories and magicules intact. Thus she accumulates power with each death. But is ultimately incapable of breaking her cycle.
Mega spoilers. Seriously.
Previously she always clung to Rimuru, sobbing. This delayed him long enough to Not meet Hinata before she reaches Tempest and begins war on it while Rimuru can't help, and by the time he reaches it be becomes too enraged to want to escape and is killed in battle. By meeting her on the way, he Is defeated, but fakes his death causing her to go back to headquarters thinking the army can destroy Tempest without her. This completely alters the timeline and events of the world.

Yes thank you Chloe Albert is a barrier specialist when she first went up against rimiru she used a water barrier the hero who locked away veldora was a more powerful barrier specialist also in the dwarven tavern with the elves doing the future reading the women he is meant to be with may have been chloe because she was also in the orb with shizu. Somebody created a time paradox to insure the Future would have a set course. No doubt about it this anime filled with creativity and fresh surprises.
next season...things get intense...hinata and diablo cameo at the end of the episode...all the attacks rimuru has been facing are caused by one person pulling the strings behind the scenes..nxt season church vs tempest, eight star demon lords, demon diablo, tempest tournament..things are about to get interesting

Veldora always reacts when he sees the spirit of the hero that sealed him... The one who gave the mask to Shizu, and who now inhabits Chloe, who now has her mask back. I am sensing a conflict between a possessed Chloe and Veldora when he is finally freed, probably at the end of season 2 or 3.

I loved the anime, but i wish they animated Veledora's activity while inside Rimiru. in the manga, they had editorial notes labeled "Veledora's journal" where Veledora basically looks at the world through Rimiru's eyes and makes comments about his adventures, but my favorite was that Veledora and Ifrit become like a student/teacher. So many stories, i can't wait for a season 2
The spirit that habitated chloe was her in the future,she was the one that saved shizu when she was a child and she was the one who sealed veldora. And she is the love of rimuru's life
For those who haven't read the manga/LN, the demon he summoned possessed the doll/golem body Rimuru made in replacement for the golem he broke during the fairy's challenge. The deal was that the Fairy would help with the spirit summoning for the children and Rimuru would replace her golem. The demon serves the fairy demon lord for 100 years and gets to be free with the body. Nothing else particularly happened about with the golem (at least in this scene).
But with the actual human person thing he summoned I have no idea
The boyish woman in the last scene is Hinata Sakaguchi who superb Shizu when she was 15.
Also the summoned but couldn’t be appeared demon is Diablo.
Episode 24 is Shizu and Diablo’s meeting story.

at 5:25 when it says "but by inhabiting her, it laid the foundation for it's own rebirth" and the fact that the spirit came from the future, and has the same hair colour as Chloe makes me think that the spirit is Chloe from the future.

After rewatching the last 3 episodes a few times I mean it's the only explanation and I don't think it's a spoiler the Show tells you without directly telling you all you have to do is put the pieces together
about the blonde getting SPACE spirit- in many RPG like settings space magic could also be teleportation and "bigger on the inside storage" so as an adult she might have giant golem servants that she can keep in a pocket or warp in when needed
As soon as I saw the recap and all that I thought the same- this serves as the finale and there'll be a massive cliffhanger next week

This episode 23 is the end for the main story, 24 is new original story, while 25 is Veldora's dairy. This episode also shows Hinata (she is Female) appearing watching Rimuru and Ranga from behind. Overall I think quite a nice close up for the main story for this 1st season. Looking forward to the next week's original Extra Episode. For the Extra Episodes, I feel is going to be like a point of view of the story from another character's view.
Usually spacial magic has to do with stuff like creating portals to other areas and creating your own pocket deminsions

@Danny avelenda haha, cause the best part of slime weather it's the original novel or the manga is the character development and main story itself. XD if ever you're super curious though and want to know more, like a lot more, i suggest reading the novel instead. The writer is very detailed and funny at time when describing the story.

Next episode is actually gonna be a bonus episode on Diablo the demon u saw at the end. Best butler/bodyguard/righthand man Diablo. Diablo in his current form in the anime is an archdemon one of the strongest demons that ever existed, he has spend centuries roaming the world until he discovered rimuru. He believes rimuru to be the future of the world and will devote his life to serve by his side. We will meet Diablo early next season right before rimuru’s ascension to demon lord, he summons Diablo to finish off the few survivors of the army and capture the king

If you guys are still confused on why ep 23 seems like the end its because it is the end of season 1 the next 2 eps are just extras that dont follow on the story they are mainly sorta bonus chapters from the manga ig so this is the end of slime (for now nobody knows if there will be a season 2 or not but theres a high chance of it happening)
That spirit looked like the hero from shizu's flashback, and the hero that deafeated veldora in his flashback. Also, the hero did wear that mask.... and she did mention that it might have something to do with the spirit of time.....

My theory is the spirit that inhabited Chloe is the hero that sealed Veldora and the one that saved shizu and gave her the mask so after disappearing she became a spirit
And Chloe is her past self that's why Veldora reacted to Chloe and now reacted to the spirit
Pretty obvious the spirit is Chloe from the future, and Rimuru giving her the mask means that she will one day be powerful enough to travel back in time, become the Hero, meet Shizu-san, and help her control Ifrit. Just like terminator. But hey, its just a theory, a slime theory.

Just my thoughts, chloe might be the hero who defeats veldora back then, because the spirit she got is an older her and it looks like the hero who defeated veldora, meaning when chloe grows up she might use space magic(other kid girls power) to travel back in time, defeated veldora and give the mask to shizu...shizu said the hero vanished indicating she might have died and her soul came back to the kid for of her which is what happen in this episode...solidifying time travel, maybe something happened to rimuru that links with veldora and the only way for them to do something is travel back in time and kill/seal veldora...
Chloe did indeed get something special the spirit of the strongest hero who even beat a true dragon (who by the why can punt most of the demon lords)

Chloe is the reincarnation of the Hero. The spiritual body inhabiting her is basically like her powers coming back into her body. That's why Veldora reacted and why it felt natural to give Chloe the mask. It's been a while since I read the manga and I never sat down to read the light novel so correct me if I'm wrong, the anime made it a lot more obvious than the manga
My only complain to this is that they did not introduce Beretta. They could have atleast portioned him a bit of screen time since he is also one of Rimuru's servants. Although Rimuru gave him to Ramiris afterwards to keep her some company in the labyrinth.

'that was easier than I expected'.... basically every problem solved in every episode
I have 2 facts up in my sleeve...
1. That spirit was the one who imprisoned veldora thats why veldora reacted to the girl because veldora knows the girl has a connection from the hero.
2. Because of what the pixie said that was the spirit from the future, the spirit maybe the girl from the future because of these two reasons:
1 She kissed Rimuru because the girl obviously likes him.
2 Because Rimuru gaved her the mask and there was like a reflection from the spirit where she was wearing the mask.
These are just facts of mine...
It'll probably take 2 years worth of additional light novels to create season 2. I doubt they'd handicap their l.n. sales. But I'm definitely looking forward to all thats yet to come.
