Honestly if anything, I find this to be poor etiquette. She is overcomplicating the food, almost acting like a child playing with their food. To do this at the dining table is rude and I'll mannered.

As crazy as this looks, as we are in modern times and don't have access to high society, Jamila didn't make the rules but is simply enlightening us. I'm so grateful. I don't think they will serve an unpeeled banana at the palace. They will have the sense to peel and chop it, and arrange it in a beautiful manner before serving.
This reminds me of that time i went to a relative's wedding and he got married into this elite class. We were late and ended up getting two seats on the bride's side dinner table. And no matter how hard we tried to eat properly we felt SO out of place. I mean we couldn't even hear a slight scraping of spoon against the plate 😂😂. Me and my cousin sill laugh about it to this day
It's still a valid video. You never know. I live in Southeast Asia and was the only girl at a construction site. One of the male staff who saw me as a sister advised me be careful how you eat a banana, hinting that i should not put it in my mouth like the usual way. So when they handed out bananas, i broke it off into pieces. Lo and behold, a few were alread staring expectantly and snickered and smiled when I did that. (if you know, you know)

There's something about proper etiquette that I just love. It may seem ridiculous, but it feels so much nicer.
I was in a social event, and I did this. Everybody laughed at me, but one of the highest profile guests didn't. He asked me why I ate the banana this way. It becomes an ice breaker. At the end of that weekend, we secure a deal and met an incredible person.
In true, the etiquette does filter people for you. The only people who did not laugh at someone who did something unusual (different) are people with manners,kind heart, and true empathy.

Sometimes I stayed as a guest in the house of a very rich family member of my stepmother, and they have breakfast (and eat such fruits) in the most average way one can think of. I'm curious where do they eat bananas like this. I know if I did that I'd be definitely laughed at. But I also know eating it the normal way holds the obvious innuendo. Perhaps peeling the banana the normal way, then putting it on the plate to cut into pieces would work.
