Thanks Leon, I just ordered Menace Sik pipes as well. I'm 6'0", and weigh 225. I think the frisco lift and high bars give the bike a larger look with that upward sweep. The caloma gold flake tank was an extra 500 bones. I think I'll hold off on the heavy breather as I think I'd like to keep the look period appropriate. Maybe an old school air filter. Also put a tuck and roll 2 up seat from Biltwell and passenger pegs on it. May put some 412 progressive shocks on too... Cheers!
Thanks... Had it done at the store It was bought prior to picking it up. The ride was feeling like I was bottoming out a bit. Took a spanner wrench to the suspension today and went from position 2 to position 3. Made a huge difference..
I'm 6'16" (1,88 m) and I just ordered one, everybody says "oh you're too tall and the bike is too small" and stuff, I had doubts, but then I test-drove it for 45 min, and I felt really comfortable on that thing. 1) If you're tall, you're tall on every bike.. 2) It's more important that it feels right, than what people say it looks like. 3) if you still have doubts, you can relocate the footpegs.
Yea, this is my first Harley too. If you watch one of my other videos, you'll see what I had for my last bike. I've lived on both coasts but for me Cali is home. Cheers!
You'll love it. Only thing is I'll stress... The suspension setting. The dealer left it on 2. Very very hard on the bumps. I used the spanner wrench and put it to 3 making a huge difference. Now I'll put on 4 after reading that setting 4 is for up to 225 lb weight. Love the 48 though!
I'm about 6'0", 225. I put a tuck and roll biltwell seat on there recently, and I think I'll have to go with some progressive shocks to take the edge off a little...Definitely pushing it though with my size...
Thanks man. But make sure the dealer sets the damping setting on the 5th. It's a really rough ride otherwise...Considering some 430 series progressive shocks at this point also. The bars really make it a different experience than the stock ones. Cheers!
Nice motorcycle! I'm getting one as well. But I would like to put custom exhausts on it and maybe even paint the tank with an American flag, or just gold is also fine. Man this bike IS gold! But I like the original stear more, just opinion. It looks more cheesier. Btw how tall are you? I'm a strong 6 foot 2(189 cm) maybe this Harley is too small for me? What's your opinion?
If you decide to buy this bike, immediately set the damping to the 5th setting. Huge difference... I'll probably wait to get the progressive 430 series shocks till I decide to go 2 up...
I also just ordered street glide air shocks, the stocks shocks are murder. That'll probably raise my rear end about an inch but I don't care at this point. That may also reveal just how bad the fronts are however, in which case, I may have to add progressive springs to the front.
It came with the drag bars. I decided to remove them and go with the 12 inch Z bars. I didn't want to be in the clam position riding, and I thought the frisco tank lift and apes gave it a more old school look. Completely different ride than with the drag bars...
I juss love ur bike its awesome even m planning to buy one however m confused bec m 6"2 and I dont want to look funny I juss love the look of 48 and now m confused between 48 and street bob nd the reason why m scared bec once I buy ny of harley I cant think of changing it bec I will keep it for the rest of my life as its very expensive in india:(
