    I have been trying to learn zbrush to make ornamental designs for cnc woodworking. I have watched your video and others on zmodeler. I think I am starting Get It with your help and a couple of other zmodeler videos. Thanks.
    I had to watch this video 10 times and do several tutorials to figure out how to do what your doing but I think no got it.

    0:18 how did you subdivide it at this point? the curve looks smooth. Did you use dynamic subdivide (Shift+D)?? If then what's the diffent if you use subdivide mesh( Ctrl + D)??

    Please make a step-by-step process video of how to do everything! Or at least point me in the right direction to learn, because Pixologic's tutorials are really not helping me achieve this kind of look.

      I used the curve strap brush on a plane, then hit the reconstruct subdiv to lower the geo a bit and from there used zmodeler.

    Hey, this is an interesting tutorial, but how do you go from the 3D curve to the flat version at 0:03 ? Thanks

    • @geospooky
      @geospooky  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'll notice the first curve I drew is more dense and a little wobbly, so I reconstructed the subdivisions and selected one polygroup, then deleted the rest. Giving me a low res flat plane that I can then re-extrude to whatever thickness I want.

    • @nor.3446

      George Barnes i cant reconstruct the subdivs cuz its saying that it contains triangles (on the 2 ends) also when i extrude a plane it just becomes hollow. How do i fix those things?

    • @geospooky
      @geospooky  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nor.3446 if you want to use reconstruct subdiv, you're going to have to find a way to eliminate those end cap triangles and make them quads. Without seeing it, I'm not sure how your model is hollow when you extrude.

    • @BearyK8
      @BearyK8 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@geospooky hi george i know this this really old but i was wondering if you could help me out? i can reconstruct but i have no idea how to make it flat, i'm really new to zmodeller so i'm not even sure what to google right now haha

    • @geospooky
      @geospooky  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BearyK8 Not sure if I follow 100%, but it sounds like you made the parts and turned them into an imm brush? If that's the case you can insert a plane or some other flat object to place your scrolls and use the gizmo or transpose tool to stretch and size it appropriately.

    Hello from Russia! George, I'm not good at english for ask a questions. I'm trying modeling things like this for our CNC router (instagram.com/rezba_moscva/). Thank you for urs video. Mabe if you have enough of time you would make new video where you can show us how to use these posibilites step by step like asks HanBOHobbit. I have basic knowledge in Zbrush, but I don’t know how to work specifically with polygons. That is, I have to go out to do a bunch of strange things through Initialize - Qqube. I can drag the edges of the square, stretch them. But nothing worthy comes out. Everything I do is like stucco. Such faces (as in the present thread) cannot be made without polygons.
    It can be 1 small pattern. Pleaase. I really want to learn.

    Were you showing off your skills or telling us how to do it? nobody can tell what brushes or zmodeler settings you used. You just talked non essential things. it was more like see what i can do and you can't because i will just show off you my skills but not gonna tell you how to do it. I am afraid but this video was not useful.
