I find it a bit concerning that after so much time they mostly just added some new content and hardly any core development and called it full release. Especially worried as someone who prefers to play in singleplayer.
Sounds rather like TSW, maybe it's a thing with train sims... well, other than Derail Valley. The only downside for me for multiplayer is not being able to choose time and train exactly as you would like. I don't understand why the same AI that runs the timetable in multiplayer can't be used to run AI trains in single player and give us the option of saving single player progress - that to me would make single player pretty usable. I've been keeping up with the dev blogs on their forums and it does look like they've done a lot, but theres still plenty to do, I just hope they've done enough to keep people interested while they continue to develop. I still think its got a lot of promise and even though I don't know the routes, I find it more satisfying to play than TSW (can't put my finger on why).
The fireman is not yelling at you. Due to poor forward visibility, the PKP required firemen to call out signals as a confirmation that the engineer had seen them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but some of the largest U.S. railroad companies still require train crews to call out every non-clear signal over the radio as a safety precaution.
I know people are worried about the sudden release but frankly i dont think this is due to greed but more of a forced financial decision due to hardship, which would certainly explain why it felt somewhat rushed. Either way i understand that people are worried that theyll become as incompetent as DTG, but you need to remember this game has substantially better polish (pun not intended) than any dovetail product. I hope they will still iron out any bugs like theyve done so far, and i feel somewhat confident they will.
Don’t bother with these closed-minded people. Everyone in recent years has become more and more spoiled and doesn’t understand anything about business and game development. Yes, games have become less polished than those from 2010, when you would go to the store and purchase a finished game like Zelda. However, today games are becoming more advanced, and it takes significantly more effort to meet today’s standards. That’s why people complain when a game is “unpolished”; creating a “perfect” game is challenging. This update includes 100 km of new track (including an 80s version), seasons, new liveries, etc. These additions are far from small and are provided for free! I’ve heard on the Discord server that the developers are already working on fixing the bugs. Both you and I are optimistic, and I am confident that SimRail will become the best train simulator, especially when compared to DTG. (Talking about the “bros glazing” comment).

Also the fireman is telling you the signals ahead

All I wanted was a save option 😭
