In case you don't know, Taxes are relatively important. Singapore is a "city-state-island" country that has some tax placed all over the place. These money would then be spent on a number of infrastructures like the roads, public transport, public hospitals, tax benefits for the "slightly poorer" individuals, the government owned Airline (Singapore Airlines) ( *Although most of the money comes from net profits* ) and the military (including the research and development of new military equipment) .
