I bought an old industrial sewing machine for canvas and heavy duty sewing and for the first few weeks I had trouble with the bobbin thread getting jammed every now and again when I removed the material I was sewing. I wish I had watched this video a lot sooner as it explains these issues and fixes very well.
I just want to say that, I had no idea that these things were taught in class! Lol. All of the things you went over in this video I had to learn on my own while crying, cursing and giving up on project over the last decade and a half! 😂 If only I could go back and tell myself what I know now!
Thank you for this video I just received my Juki DDL8700 my husband surprised me. mine has a black motor where the wheel is to lift up the needle is that normal? Do you have a video how to set the thread tension? Do you have a video how to thread the juki as well?
I bought a juki sewing machine hzl-27z today. i never operated a sweing machine before. To practice i started to sew a litle piece of fabric. the first run wente ok but on the second the fabric got stuck and the needle came off. How to pull of the fabric?
Thanks for your video. Very helpful. I have a tl2000qi and really like it. However the thread cutter is out of sync and will not cut. When I try to use, it will stitch 3 times instead of cutting. Have you heard of this happening?
Hi I have a J150 QVP and can’t change from free motion option back to straight stitch. Any suggestions on what could be the problem . When I press the button to change back to straight stitch, the machine just beeps. Please help. I’m in Texas
Does your machine also have the fuse knob? I’m trying to figure out what that is for. Like a little knob that says fuse right next to the power switch.
I have an 8700. Threaded right. Bobbing wound and put in right. Raise foot and remove fabric and there are 3 threads coming up from the baseplate. One is bobbing and the other 2 are one thread. I have to cut the threads. I have a sensor for needle position. I'll look to make sure it's set so the take up lever stops all the way up But what you explained isn't like this. There's multiple threads coming up from hook. There should be only one for bobbin.
Gosh- ya- this one is new to me. Maybe when the bobbin thread is being pulled to the top, the first is stitch is actually more than just one stitch? I would double check the hand wheel is only being turning for one rotation a d no more- so the take up lever starts at the top & returns there
Hmmm- that’s unusual. There are many types of needles to purchase- you could double check you have the correct type. In our classroom sometimes students accidentally insert overlock needles (which are shorter) into the jumó lockstitch machines- they look very similar so I’m not surprised it happens. If it is the correct needle, I wonder if it is places as high as possible in the needle holder- loosen the holder so you can slide the needle all way up until it hits a wall
Hello???? I'm actually having an issue with my handwheel not turning loosely. Its very tight and im not sure how to loosen it. Its brand new just got it today and wanted to know if their was an issue??? Is it ?y bobbin or my motor??
Bxrdo * that’s happened to me, too. I called for service from OC industrial- they are based in Santa Ana, Ca (I wonder if they offer zoom service calls during covid???). Sometimes they just use muscle strength & un-turn the jammed wheel. They told me that it jams if the machine hasn’t been used in awhile & that it’s important to routinely run yo get the oil through. Other than that- I don’t really know 🤷♂️
I have a juki industrial sewing machine at my.job and it was sewing fast like I wanted until the maintenance man got ahold of it and now it's very slow how do I speed it back up? Thanks to anyone who can answer my question
Is there a small electronic box under your machine? If so you can change the sewing speed there.I just made a quick video for you... th-cam.com/video/R83lYiaR7jo/w-d-xo.html
You might have to call a repair man. This happens in our sewing lab, and surprisingly most times our service person is super strong and cranks the handle to work again! Problem solved! BUT... sometimes there’s a darn broken needle jammed into the Bobby case and it just needs to be taken apart to be removed.Or once it was more serious with something inside the machine. Sorry! I wish I could help!!! So frustrating!! If you live in Orange County, CA, OCI (Orange County Industrial) is pretty quick and amazing at fixes.
My wifes Juki ( HZL-F series) has a problem with the needle hitting the bottom case holder. Any idea what causes this issue and how to correct it? Thanks

That actually happens to about 2 of our machines a semester. I asked our repair guy from OC Industrial in Santa Ana the same question. Sometimes, he just yanks REALLY hard on it and it loosens up! I always think it's a jam and am surprised when he does that!!! Then he makes sure the needle isn't threaded and slams on the presser foot to run the machine for about a minute or so to get the oil running through it well. There was a time when his muscle power didn't get the knob to unjam and I can't remember how he fixed it! I'm always so busy with students when he comes by, so I didn't catch it that time! But since we are out of the classroom for almost a year!!!! I have a feeling this is going to be big problem next semester when we return- so I will keep you posted! But if you are near Santa Ana, the guys at OCI are pretty incredible and fair pricing in my opinion. Good luck! Sorry for the late reply- I'm actually getting use to this TH-cam thing! I mostly just post for my students which post in their academic shells. But it's been so fun to see other people using the videos, too! I'll try to be better about reading comments!
It’s jammed!!! Our repair guy sometimes muscles through them & gets them unlocked- other times he has to dig deeper- but you may need to service the machine. We usually find a broken needle head jammed in somewhere when that happens to us

I had no idea the lever had to be up and that you should always turn the rotator towards you! No wonder I would always have my fabric get stuck! 😮
Great video.
Thank you so much, you help me a lot❤️❤️❤️
Thank you very much
We have a Juki for aviation. What causes a thumping noise?

I have a Juki DDL-555ON My needle keeps falling out of it I put it in correctly and tighten it correctly but it still just falls right now

@@FashionProfessor thanks for the tips this really helped I appreciate it!
My needle is stuck in the down position ...cranking the handle doesn’t move it at all, any suggestions?

I don’t think the bobbin case is in correctly- the opening at the top should allow the needle to go up and down without hitting the case.
Hi this sounds like a timing hook issue , I experienced this recently
