I've just fixed the exact same problem following your indications 💪. 2nd soldering DIY of my entire life so I was a bit nervous, especially when I decided to re-solder the joints of the other working channels (because I don't want to deal with those million tiny screws ever again !!).
Have a Cambridge azur 640c CD player I picked up recently. The RCA audio out jacks have a flake in them, acts like cold/bad solder issue. It is pretty nice, but disappointing that this appears to be a common problem. Thanks I will give a resolder job a shot.
650R, Expensive,good when functioning,unreliable,possible speaker destroyers. Use headphones to switch relays so that it doesn't come on at full volume. Picked up one for $15 at recycling, superlative sound.Only needed a reset. Give it a try if you come across one.
@@Synthematix I've had this amp from new for 20 years or so and the volume is stuck in max. I read you could replace one of the eproms. Do you have any experience? It's a great piece of kit so loathe to throw it away. Cheers.
@@philrhodes3985 The rotary encoder may need to be fully cleaned inside as the tracks on it could be oxidised, try desoldering the volume control take it apart and check m8
My one only works in direct mode!!! All channels works but only if I use direct input with RCA connectors??? Anyone could advise why is this. How to fix!
Hello, could you please give some advice where to search for the problem? My Azur 540V2 shuts to standby with Overload Protect message on screen, no matter which speakers (4 or 8 ohm) or headphones (Sennheiser HD515) i'm using, the volume lvl is far from it's maximum sometimes it can work for an hour and sometimes shuts immediately, volume lvls are different -57db -40db
obvious what's happened there. when it was nicked from the house it came from it was yanked from the stack without being unplugged first and the speaker terminals got damaged lol.

I know this was a long time ago but do you think id be able to get that fan out without taking the whole unit apart? mine needs replacing.

When you took it out do you recall if the whole motherboard would have to come out to replace the heatsync fan...... Heatsync fan on mine is noisy
+Lee Mc to get the fan out you have to take the front off OR connect it too the 5V dc line of the front board, then it will be always on but silent

This sounds like a transistor problem, maybe the filter capacitors are bad also.
