I came across your video this morning and recognized that picture from the magazine right away. I still have that magazine and that car inspired my 72 dart 440 build in the mid 90s. So cool to see this car is still out there. I now own a 68 valiant with a 360. Thanks for sharing.

I've been back at school so I haven't had much time to get out to the garage and get some things squared away. I had to fix the hood and take care of some issues in the lower 1/4 panel. Plan is to take the car out on Drag week this year.

Fantastic video. My best friend built this car, and I lent a hand here and there. (circa 1983’ish) I talk to him occasionally despite living several hundred miles away these days. He let me drive it a few times when he first finished it and it was a monster. Cool stuff, man. Keep up the great videos!

@@xlr8carlife127 So very, very cool!! Loving all of your great videos, especially of the Valiant! One of our friends referred to this car as the Plymouth "Violent". Lots a great memories attached to this machine.

Once I get all the rear suspension parts (been waiting over a month) I'll shoot some more video.

Me too got a 67 68 72 love Valiants.. they are the average man hod rod to build but last couple years or so they have gone up big time in price. I didn't pay more than 700 bucks for any of mine and they are all rust free

Cool car! I bought a 68 Valiant big block 727 dana60 street racer built in the mid 70s. Mine seemed to be cosmic also!

I go back and forth on how to go forward with the car. Part of me really wants to keep the car looking like it did in the magazine. The other part wants me to change it into the car I want. A high 9 second low 10 second street bruiser. Either way, I'll be taking more video this winter of the progress.

I reached out to him and wasn't able to get a direct response. But he did like one of the pictures I put on instagram. One of my buddies lives down by him, at some point I plan on bringing the car down to Moparty and maybe seeing if I can reunite him with the car.

Nice car didn't hear you mention it it's big bolt pattern or small bolt pattern

I don't believe those Road Wheels (sometimes called Magnum 500s) came in anything except 14 inch 4 1/2 inch BC. Which may be why he switched them out. I don't think the ones on it look quite right, though.

Having issues finding wheels with the proper offset for the back without a megabuck custom wheel. sometimes it is what it is especially if you want to keep it looking more old school. I kept small bolt pattern on my 72 Duster, you could either get centerlines, or sometimes if you were lucky Cragars, but usually the chrome was garbage on them. @@auteurfiddler8706

@@Brianscoronet according to the article, the cam was just an old Mopar performance hemi grind and the exhaust was just some 2 and 1/2 in with turbo mufflers. After drag week, I've swapped it to a 3-in stainless with flowmaster bullet mufflers
