I watch your channel all of the time and I love your content. I am 14 years old and I’ve been prepping for about a year. My parents dont agree with prepping so it is quite hard for me to prep. I have about a months worth of food stores and I keep adding by the day

Now is a great time to show your parents that prepping is a must. There are plenty of examples to go around this year, especially the on going economic crisis caused by a single virus (well not really, it happens because of the super debt cycle but just go with the virus, okay?)

Ruger ought to wake up and put this stock on 10/22 as OEM.
It is available as an OEM option for the Ruger PCC. I just got one and it is a pretty nice set up in my opinion.
I will never understand how Magpul made this and didn’t put Mlok cutouts in the rail
not only that but no QD mounts, that's gonna cost a extra $70 -$100 depending on the sling you choose
@@sandymitchell8182the no QD makes sense from a business perspective, they can sell them to you for more money. Dirty but typical business practices.
The mlok slots wouldn’t have cost them much of anything, definitely an oversight.
I'm about to go but this gun because I want a 22 and it is extremely affordable!

I have a similar setup but with the stainless barrel. Took er to the range today - shot minimags, Win power points and wild cats. It performed like a champ 🔥

Little trick to share that I’ve used with my rig of this stock. The QD mounting holes…run a small loop of cord, I used 325 paracord basic it’s what was on hand…thru the holes. About six to eight inches doubles up enough to stick out one side with a overhand knot fitting within the opposite recess. Clipped a spare shoulder strap from a laptop bag to each exposed loop.
Quick, simple sling set up. As the rifle is still sub five pounds even with ammo in the stock compartment, it works without fear of the plastic sling hooks failing.

Two advantages over AR7 are quick assembly and magazines, for that price I might get one but I still love my Henry Survival Rifle.

Just got one of these in FDE and love it. Has a little shorter length of pull which makes it great for the kids and gives it a nice compact feel. The grip angle feels a lot better as well. Had already upgraded to a BX Trigger, Volquartsen automatic bolt release and was having extraction issues with certain ammo but remedied that with a Kidd extractor. Next move will be a red dot and the Magpul mount.
I really like that set up and the price is very reasonable. I have been wanting a take down for a long time. Now I have to get get one.

I have that setup. It's solid, but not without minor issues. The back of the receiver has a small gap between itself and the stock; you can see what I mean in the video. This does not inhibit the function of the rifle in any way, but it looks wrong aesthetically. I believe that the small gap may be a necessity to insert the receiver into the stock.
The foregrip is small, I wish there was a way to grip further out without touching the barrel. As mentioned in the video, the grip-storage is snug; so much so that it is difficult to open, but that ensures that what is placed in there is safe from the elements. Other than those minor issues, it is a very good addition to a 10/22, in my opinion.
If Roger would make these in a .22 Mag they could sell 5 million more !

I used to have the Henry. Great gun very durable.
Make sure to check your local laws. Concealed carry is some states (like mine, VA) only work for handguns.

Man I like these, would just sit in the safe for me though, can't hunt on public land with a .22 here. The bunnies are safe for another day
Might get a .243 cut in half for a pack rifle though, I like having everything packed away and streamlined

I have 2 10/22 on X22 furniture. and one has a bull barrel. i enjoy taking them out to shoot and so does my son. Great set up. They both have sig red dots on them. It makes for a great combo.
And you forgot the Henry you have it sight it in after putting it together because the sights are on to deferent pieces. And the 10/22 the sights are on the barrel. I like the Henry but the 10/22 is a better pick because of that

Be careful if you switch out the standard compartment cover for the cheek riser cover. The C-shaped hinge is weak and will break off. Like mine did.
I thought I had this all bought the day you posted the video. What did I get today, stock only, not the rifle. Now everyone sold out and big daddy won't let me on regardless of the membership fee. Note to self - find my own defenses.
Correction. Quick google search shows over 11 million Marlin Model 60s have been produced vs 7+ million of the 10/22. 2nd most produced. Though Ruger's claim that it's the most popular may be accurate today.
Just purchased one today should be at my FFL dealer next week.

the only problem I have sometimes it jams I don't know if it's a ammunition problem or needs to be worked in other than that I love it
That slanted stock comb on the regular Ruger 10/22s doesn't do it for me. The Magpul is much improved plus it offers a raised comb option for scopes.

Got the same exact 10/22 backpacker in olive green but with a primary Arms 1-6x ACSS 22lr scope. Ultimate survival set up !! Love it!

I have a 22 that everything and clips, fit into the stock, plus it's water proof if dropped into the water! Be safe!

Really cool. But the Kel-Tec Sub 2000 gives me a more compact 9 mm that I can also use with my Beretta 92 magazines.
22 LR nice - 9mm better
Maybe for self defense, not for "survival." I'd take this gun over a sub 2000, in a survival situation, any day.

Thanks for all your intelligent information over the years. Would you add the 10/22 to an emergency pack that has The Ruger Pc 9mm Magpul Takedown? I will get the Ruger 10/22 Magpul Backpacker to practice with the same system, at 7 cents a round. Unfree state here, city, these rifles are amongst the few legal semi-auto carbines. With 22 lr 200 rounds are 1.5 lbs, and 200 rounds of 9mm is 5 lbs. It seems worthwhile to have both takedowns in my emergency backpack. Plus 2 semi-auto 9mm handguns I carry. What do you think? My 5.56 Nato mag loading lever action is long and heavy, plus the ammo weight will remain in my Studio.
Taking a 22 lr handgun seems impractical. What do you think? If yes, would a Buck Mark pistol with a suppressor or an FN 502 with no suppressor be worth taking? Much appreciation.

Have you done a video on the Ruger 1022 takedown that has been upgraded and modified?? I have one finally. And I’m going through the mods actually very quickly. I’ve already changed out the stock, the trigger BXT 25, the bolt With a competition bolt, next is the Talos threaded barrel 1/2 x 28. And considering optics some thing very light.

I put this stock on my 10/22 takedown of course and now I cant hit the side of a barn!! @ 50 yards I couldnt get a shot on paper ,its shooting about 20 inch's low. anyone else had problems with this??? i'm dumbfounded it was a very accurate rifle once. #2 its nearly impossible to het the bead sight on top of the rear factory triangle sight, also tried a Red Dot but It would come down enough to co= witness

I have the Henry AR7 but it seems to be very temperamental regarding the type of 22LR ammo used in it. With Winchester, it has A LOT (>50%) of misfeeds. CCI is much better but still having ~ 5% misfeeds even after sending the gun back to Henry for this issue. Is this just the nature of 22LR ammo or should I buy new magazines for the gun or just move onto something else like the Ruger or the Magpul? By the way, I have only used high velocity ammo as recommended in the instruction manual.
I just recently bought a AR-7 from Henry and it’s been straight garbage. Average 2 fails to feed per mag (8). I’ve sent the rifle back twice now. Trading it in on one of these and not looking back.

My 10-22 takedown is the least reliable gun I own. Stovepipes all the time no matter what. It does it so much it’s not even fun to shoot. Its been back to ruger but they didn’t fix it.

Nice gun. I’ll keep my AR-7, it stores into the butt-stock and I think that is FAR FAR FAR better. It floats and it’s waterproof and IT HAS SPACE FOR TWO EXTRA MAGS plus one in the receiver.
Anybody have experience with BigDaddyUnlimited? Found it odd that they won't show prices unless you're a member, and that membership is $9+/month (with 30 day trial for $0.99). Also see lots of reviews saying the search capabilities are atrocious, so curious about experience anyone has had.
