Well I do love Brian Cox. And my cousin went to the same acting school in London as he did, she even met Brian Cox, giving her acting pointers and gave a speech and her graduation.
True that, I shudder every time I hear about a property I love getting a new project these days, I didn't know if it's possible to make something currently that doesn't follow the 'modern audience' formula. It's always at the cost of the story, characters, and IP. I often wish movies could just get put on hold until ten years from now just to give them a chance
Ideology is in material. Ideology is choices on what is good or bad, important or not important. No Ideology means blandness and nihilism and meaninglessness. If you don't see Ideology in any work, it means you want one-sided transparent propaganda. The question is : is the Ideology well illustrated? Does the story makes sense.
@ you speak with such conviction . I must be wrong with my conclusion, but then I remember every film for last decade spits same old ideology. This film should celebrate Tolkien, not try reinforce same message audiences have been hearing for a decade.
6/10 for the quality of the movie on its own. 4/10 for being a poor adaption of the actual story. The excuse for her not having a name in Rohan's history....is very stupid. Even with the reasoning that she never cared about ruling, what legitimate excuse is there that her own nation would forget her accomplishments and give them to someone else, while she in the ends, selfishly, decides to abandon her country when it took generations for it to recover...which is probably why they rewrote that part of Rohan's history, as an act of revenge for her running away from helping with the recovery. Not like I don't think the movie could have worked with her as the POV, since she could have played a small part, but they made everything big happen evolve around her...when she was a unnamed one sentence character, which Tolkien made clear was an insignificant character. Helm didn't punch Freca for proposing marriage, it was because Freca threatened him the music and voice acting was great, the writing wasn't
The severe lack of major marketing for this movie really is guaranteeing that this is sadly going to bomb….which I think it’s once again showing that David Zaslav doesn’t give a living 💩 about animation
Sorry, it might be placed in the setting of Tolkiens world, but the oh so 2024 woke message is boring, forced, and just not Tolkien's lore. I'm glad you enjoyed it, just not fir me.
Im sick of these horrible dull pushed female leads that all have the same personality. This is just woman boss the movie again feminism agenda just like rings of power on amazon is. This is a disgrace to tolkein. Horrible review.
Ok dude please be nice she's just trying to be positive and like kristoffthegreekpolisher said Tessa is part of an critic establishment so don't expect her.to give you a honest review ps hi kristoffthegreekpolisher and Tessa😊😁
I saw the movie, it's the most decent Tolkien's adaptation in a while, nothing on the main character gives "girlboss" or "Mary Sue" vibes unless you have a bias or false beliefs around those concepts
Don't speak If u haven't seen it, she loses in this movie time and time again, if anything it's ANTI woke, she gets her ass beat, so don't speak if u don't know 😊
Yes, it is very worth watching it.

Its okay. I'd say its about Gladiator 2 levels of 6/10
This is on my watchlist and the fact that you liked it just makes me want to watch it more :)
I might watch it cuz I'm a die-hard of Lord of the rings and the animation looks beautiful also hi Tessa great review😊
I’ll be there in the first showing on the first day at my theater, can’t WAIT
Did you get that hammer popcorn bucket? 🍿😂
Minor Correction: War of the Rohirrim takes place 183 years before the events of The Hobbit. (182 years if we are talking about the film trilogy).
Yes another girlboss movie about a character that wasn't even named in Tolkien's original work is exactly what we needed. 🙄
All right excellent! 🎞🎞🎞 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I’ve been looking forward to this one in a while I love the idea of a lord of the rings anime movie
Reviews and films like this is why I don’t trust studios, that put their own ideology above the source material. Anime and Tolkien deserves better

@ These writers have the audacity to say Tolkien overlooked Hera. They are under the impression their story is better

No it needed to be longer as long as fellowship of the rings exsteneded
It's woke Japanimation trash that never should have been made, but that's the state of "entertainment" these days.
This is the most lore accurate adaptation of Tolkien ever made. People are just suffering from woke fever an affliction similar to TDS.

You are right, but this lady is very much part of “critic establishment “. Don’t expect an honest review from this channel.
