- Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches Kena Upanishad in this series.
The Kena Upanishad (Sanskrit: केनोपनिषद्) (also alternatively known as Talavakara Upanishad) is a Vedic Sanskrit text classified as one of the primary or Mukhya Upanishads that is embedded inside the last section of the Talavakara Brahmana of the Samaveda. It is listed as number 2 in the Muktikā, the canon of the 108 Upanishads of Hinduism.
Kena Upanishad has three parts: 13 verses in the first part, 15 paragraphs in the second part, and 6 paragraphs in the epilogue. These are distributed in four khaṇḍas (खण्ड, sections or volumes). The first Khanda has 8 verses, the second has 5 verses. The third Khanda has 12 paragraphs, while the fourth khanda has the remaining 9 (3 paragraphs of main text and 6 paragraphs of the epilogue).

ABOUT VEDANTA
Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest. Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta affirms the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of religions.
ABOUT US
Vedanta Society of New York is affiliated with the Ramakrishna Order of India. In fact, this is the Order's first Center started by Swami Vivekananda, in 1894. It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the present Resident Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta Society of New York.

Atman is neither known nor unknown..can not be objectified by senses, speech or mind and self luminous beyond cause and effect, an unbiased witness consciousness …truly the highest knowledge 🙏 so far so good…waiting to see …how does every object eventually become subject (as everything is brahman)
According to Sri Aurobindo, the brahman extends itself as substance and then the creation begins with Ishwara Shakti as the dynamic principle, brahma maya as the creative principle and purusha prakriti which actually manifests- - the duality as such is there right from the time the creation starts..and it remains through out, however its for us to realise that the unity of the creation lies not only in conscioussness ( because the brahman is conscious ,its not an accidental happening) but in the substance of the creation itself, this is Sat, chit shakti is the consciousness power, and ananda .. but as we move into vijnana levels, all three exist simultaneously. Ie where there is sat there is chitshakti and Ananda inseparably one,and then we really begin to understand advaita, because the substance of the physical body itself starts undergoing a change as it too becomes brahman..
This portion of Brahman being substance is not much emphasised in the purusha prakriti levels because evolution is still in its primary stages, however as the evolution proceeds this principle is revealed and we start moving towards immortal bodies.
Having said this👆it would certainly be interesting to know from Swamiji what the kena upanishad says 🙏🙏
Objects don't become the subject. The subject appears as objects but no objects ever actually exist. They are appearances only of Brahman to Brahman in Brahman.
Pronaams!🙏🏻 Namashkaars to all!🙏🏻

Thank you Swami ji .
Kena Upanishad classes so far are quite extensive and detailed. However, if the classes would be like Vedanta Sara and Mundaka classes, where the teaching were as I feel as a layman were concentrated on explaining the mantras with limited supplementary references.
May be this is limited to my opinion and expert teacher like Swamy Ji must be knowing how to interpret the mantras for the listeners.
Eagerly waiting for the next class video.

part 5 m 1.3 1.4 : 07/11/24
- teacher refuses to say about atma because he himself doesn't know it. shankara explains that teacher had chosen this path deliberately in-order to alert the student that it cannot be known through any instrument, thoughts, mind, organs anything.. the teacher is just making the student heads up for what's about to come.. shankara says yes, atma cannot be known through those earlier things but can be pointed out through agamas (lineage of teachings). also uses words like karya-karana (cause and effect) , these are workings of maya but atma is beyond cause and effect.
- swami says about sri krishna talking about brahma nishta.. those who are not shaken by wordly fears, success-failures etc shall only attain. swami says how to practice this brahmanishta? 'knowing i am the atman and not this body'
