Top hats were also made with mercury, therefore connecting to Weazing's poison type. Plus, like you brought up, smoke stacks pollute. Or, *poisons* the air. So, all of those traits just naturally fits together, and relates back to the poison type or to each other. It also helps that smoke stacks kind of look like top hats.

Sadly, many don't understand it because of lacking Explanation of Gamefreak or for whatever reason. I don't know why, some just see it as not important or even useless, which is just sad...

But even yet, most people and i fear also Gamefreak have not Realized the Fact that Regional Forms can be the Solution to many Problems of this Franchise!! They can be used to Fix many Pokemon! For example those perceived as 'useless'! But not only them!

When I first heard Obstagoon I thought of the word Obstinate, which means to be stubborn and not change your opinion, which is something teenagers are definitely good at doing, so it fits the theme really well

The first second I saw Galarian Weezing, I was in love
Never could I have imagined this to be our Poison/Fairy type but Gamefreak has blessed us with a true masterpiece

This video - "I actually looked into it, and here's why it's all quite clever, actually."
That's classic Pokemon for you. An example back in Gen II was Forretress. A metal ball bug, it made no sense to me and I hated it as a kid. Then when I was older and needed it for my competitive team, I noticed it gets Volt Switch, a special electric move. It dawned on me then that it's a bagworm that uses electromagnetism to attract metal for defense, as opposed to gluing together a sleeping back made of plant material. It can use that electricity in Volt Switch, move using electromagnetism with Rapid Spin, Gyro Ball, and Magnet Rise, and shed it's metal protection to create hazards like Spikes and Stealth Rocks.
I actually think Forretress and Vikavolt are closely related with Vikavolt using the electricity for hunting Flying types as opposed to defensive protection. Alola has a unique magnetic rock that Vikavolt needs to evolve, channeling that electricity like a railgun which also uses electromagnetism to shoot projectiles. Alola being based on Hawaii also implies there were many more birds there than most places during most of it's history, giving Vikavolt plenty of prey to specialize in hunting.

Galarian Weezing's typing + the levitate ability makes it immune to both Dragon and Ground, two heavy hitting types, not to mention a quad resistance to Fighting.
And a quad resistance to Bug too. Fairy/Poison looks like a good defensive combo
Plus fairy counters dragon and fighting as well, so it looks like it could be a pretty good offensive threat if it has a decent sp. attack stat. And if it still gets flamethrower, that will help counter the steel types that would otherwise wall it hard
I would hope that it can still learn flamethrower through TMs.
I think Galar forms of a starters trio with changing their types to a different type triangle would be cool. Like Flying>Fighting>Rock.
problem with this is that flying also beats grass, and rock beats fire while being weak to water

i love the idea of evolutionary lines that are only accessible to specific regional variants, also the new zigzagoon line is just super adorable.
I never dreamed that it could br possible, but Galarian Wheezing is my favorite of the new pokemon. He's just so dapper!!
Maybe zigzagoon couldn’t fully evolve unless it was in its natural habitat or place of origin it would be a cool explanation for this.

Obstagoon only happened as a response to the way Linoone and Zigzagoon fight.
They literally tackle the heck out of each other all day, so Linoones ended up adapting by evolving into an "Immovable Wall" Pokémon, an "Obstacle" to Linoone/Zigzagoon's movement

I figured that if it became more docile in other regions, it would have lost any reason to evolve.
This could indicate that Obstagoon requires some sort of special method to evolve, such as a stone or it having 0 friendship.
The problem with Obstagoon being a defense mechanism is that it doesn't explain why we haven't seen a non-dark variant in other regions. As far as I know, gen 8 is within the mega timeline.
@@corb5905 When they moved Zigzagoons to other regions there were little to no other Wild Zigzagoon lines to pick fights with, so naturally they became more docile overtime, you can tell by reading the Descriptions of Zigzagoon, Linoone and Obstagoon on the Pokémon Site right now.
They had no need to obstruct outside of Galar, so they stopped evolving to do it, reason why there's no Pure Normal Obstagoon.
No Mega-Evolution on Galar so whether or not they are in the Mega-Timeline is debatable.
Maybe they evolve from an excess of teen angst.

I just wanted to say that I love how the images of the Pokemon onscreen are all animated! They're really cool to watch and makes me enjoy your videos more ^^
My theory on Hoenn Zigzagoon is that when they came to Hoenn they were met with the Mighthyena fam which already had filled that niche of a “dark bully predator “ forcing them to mellow out and become the more passive normal types that they are due to competition. Obstagoon even looks like it could be an evo for the mightyena line.
So galarian zigzagoon was first.. then became hoenn-zigzagoon to become a viable HM Slave gen 3 lets play
The line how Galarian Zigzagoon is the original one cannot be true since it’s a Hoenn Pokemon, meaning the species was first discovered in Hoenn. It would be a Galar pokemon if it was found there first.

My personal theory is that since Galarian environment was so harsh for Zigzagoon and it’s evolutions. The ones that escaped to Hoenn found happiness and mellowed out.
