You can tell this video is from before they became famous. There is only mild applause when they are introduced. It's funny to watch the introduction and not hear girls screaming after they say Justin's name.
Man oh man, you can tell they’re nervous. But they’re just kids at this point, cut them some slack. I think they sound great for their first performance in the states, considering how well they sing just a couple years later

I understand your gripe but they play there position chris lance and Joey aren't the singer's their the blenders when they come together they create the harmony that Justin and JC. Feed off of
It's interesting hearing earlier renditions of this song. This performance was basically saved from the moment JC started singing his lead part. They really needed to turn down Justin's mic.

I've watched 15 live versions of this song and this performance was.... rough compared to the others. The harmonies are way off. This is an early version and obviously that got better at their harmonies and timing but this was...shockingly disappointing and proof that everyone starts somewhere and has to work to get better
May I mention that the guy who took the lead vocals after the first (ahem) lead vocalist (?) was a far, far better singer. I guess that's obvious except to those who are sexually attracted to the first. Vocally there is no comparison to the objective listener. Did the really good vocalist become real famous or had he become disgusted with the business aspects and just quit altogether. That's happened many times before. I've seen this happen where the best of them, just give up fighting the machine.
You probably don't have a musical ear to say the after Justin sounded better😂😂😂. Justin is a beast. he was nice enough to give the others some shine. You tried it.
+Halfcrazy 7 Hello Halfcrazy 7, Guess u didn't know I played professionally at 14 thru 28. Got a little sick of the business end of it all. By the way, I won't go into detail because of your young age and lack of knowledge in art of vocalization. It's fine to like someone because of how they look. Most people do that. Even me, sometimes. But that's only with female singers. However, I won't lie to myself about professionalism in music. There are times when singers are just different but equally gifted. This however, is not the case here. Ones gift is fairly superior to the others. This time your singer is very good, but only second best of the two. Please don't be angry, try to be objective and listen to an old guy who went back to playing again in N.Y.C. for the last 18 years. I may have learned something over the years. And how old am i anyway and what did you think you were going to get from replying to me😕
+Halfcrazy 7 What I was hoping for was an objective opinion. What do you think people expect when they ask you a musical question? But for now, it's like beating a dead horse. Have a good life and stay safe.

They performed this song on and off pre-no strings attached between 96 and 98 especially overseas but I think the big problem of why it may seem a little bit off is because poor Justin is going through puberty.
