Having spent countless hours under vehicles travelling our beautiful country, I feel your pain, honour your ethos and temperament. The content and production is on point. For me, this is the best 4WD channel on TH-cam.
Maxine, Karstan! Not Lost..... You are Geographically Challenged!! 🗺️ Are you over opening and closing gates yet? So glad you had tech, drone n Dad helping you guys. Have fun and thanks for taking me there.
Just finished watching your series of The Block and decided to see what happened to you afterwards and found out you are now TH-camrs so immediately found you and subscribed. I thought you were robbed on The Block and are happy that you are living your best life now with your lovely daughter. I will continue to join you on your journey
The good old shortcut... haha. Been on many of those due to hubby loving dirt tracks. Loved this episode, you crack us up.. so looking forward to your adventures.
Epic adventure episode K&M, glad you got into camp before dark. Nice shirt Karsten, next time you're in Cairns I'll shout you a beer and a new "T" shirt, Cheers. 👍👍👍 🦘🦘🦘.
Hi guys. My name is Evaldo, I'm from Brazil. I don't speak English very well. I started following you when I was in Sydney to visit my children at the end of 2023 when my son showed me you in a Kombi home driving through the Australian Outback region. When I return to Australia, my son and I would like to meet you in person. Hugs from this follower on the other side of the world.🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Hi guy's Good job not giving up lolooo 🤣 Been there done it too ,had to drop a few fences to drive over, then put back up, that's because old maps were never updated. All part of the adventures. Keep up the great work and have a lovely time Stay safe and can't wait to see next upload Cheers wazza. Nice to have ya back
Loved this ep of adventures into the unknown tracks of the outback . Our type of adventure. No truer words spoken about the journey and the destination. It was a pleasure meeting you all at Charlotte Plains. Can’t wait to see where you head next.
Hey guys, great ep! The anxiety levels must have been through the roof, but you're right whilst you've got plenty of juice in the tank and food and water all is good. The Oka looks great and travels really well by the looks of it. Looking forward to the next instalment. Cheers Bob n Barb
Not gonna a lie you guys bought a tear to my eye when I saw the sign? Some of those outback tracks are only used by the fencers, and they only go out once or twice a year! And I would have love to be a fly on the wall listening to the conversations on being lost! So glad you made it! ❤ wouldn’t of expected anything different with you both being experienced at this😊 sending loves❤
You guys are living life instead of passing through it, and always remember...Destinations are only places to stop and reflect on the journey you have made. GB and enjoy.
We’ve been subscribed for a couple of years. We’re staying at Nalini next year 😊 We loved the Combi. Your OKA is a great expedition vehicle. Ripper episode you two! Karen decided we need the Hema Atlas you are using. Order placed! We’ve been using Hema booklets and maps for our Outback travels. We tow an off roads caravan with a much modified Discovery 5. With your fuel capacity, water, fuel, food and StarLink being temporarily “geographically embarrassed is no big deal. I hope others can learn from your thorough preparation. Looking forward to the next Ep. Rob (72) and Karen (66) WWBDFQ
Maxi, why all the stress. Last episode you were travelling in a 1963 Kombi in the never never and now you have probably one of the most capable 4x4 trucks on the globe with a ton of water fuel and supplies … 😂 Explore the great land !!! The new rig is 110% - just f*cking love it! PS: my ocd is running wild with the windows down with all the dust coming into the van 😅
Hanging up the dogs a old wise tale gets rid of other dogs and let's neighbours no dogs been caught to keep people on notice. Them cats eyes aren't nice at all in foot will Evan go thru sandels or your plungers😢. So happy u guys are back doing adventures
Glad you found your way. These are the stories you'll remember. How goods your Dad being a co-pilot from his lounge room haha. Can't wait for next vlog guys, good stuff!
Love it! This is my type of travel. In the WA Goldfields last year, my ‘track’ hit a dead end at the Trans Australian rail line (with the embankment being about 2m above ground level ). I had to follow alongside it for almost 50km before I found a spot to cross. Not lost…I knew exactly where I was; just had difficulty getting to where I wanted to go :)
Ha done the same, was following a lovely straight road on the gps for ages, suddenly realised it was the rail line I was following lucky I had enough fuel still have a you dumb b chuckle years later😅
Getting Lost is all part of the fun when you travel, if you get upset, you may as well stay at home! LOL I bet Maxine is over gates though, that was fun seeing all those bloody gates! All part of going bush in the outback! Qld is bloody huge, when you get lost! grrrrr!
The last guy I would ask road conditions about now. "Owwh not bad mate- what ya driving? A 73 Holden panel/ well you won.t make it in that." !!! You guys have slipped head long into Glamping. Did love the episode . That rig really only needs a drone and a compass. Oh ya, a wire cutter and repair spool.
Great episode guys. Now you have had the oka on the road for a few weeks, how are you finding the build? Are you happy with what you did or are you thinking of changing a few things?
From The Block to the Outback. Do you know what would be awesome. Bumping in to old Foreman Keith Catching some shade under a tree. Hehe... Blockheads..
Looks like the same area 4wd 247 got stuck in a recent episode for a few days because of the rain and had to find their way through the maze of fences to get out
The tracks remind me of some of the ones on my late father's cattle station. A tip for the future: When you can't go left and you can't go right, you can always go back. Enjoy the trip!
We use hard map book plus GPS. We were on Flinders Island ( not a real big island.) Driving through open country farm land following GPS and map both indicating a road. A bloke pulled us up and asked were we were going and coming from, we had a good old chat, then he very politely told us that we were actually driving through his property and we were actually on wrong track, and if we travel to end of road we will come to a dead end with locks on gates. He very politely again told us were to find the key for a second gate and also gave us information were we will be and another track that will take us to a mountain top with a view of the whole island. Loved that island and the people that live there. Sometimes the worst tracks can tack you to the most scenic places.
I got a tip about checking for electric fences. Do not use the palm of your hand to check the wire. If it's electric your hand will clench around it. If you use the back of your hand and touch it from under the wire, your hand will still clench but it is free from clutching the wire. Never tried it myself, but it is probably worth mentioning it.??
Would of loved to see Durrinbandi, my fav author Robert G Barrett's, Les Norton comes from there. Bloody good read, check him out, im sure yous would love him. All the best on your travels 🤙🇦🇺❤️
Last time we did this we got chased by the farmer on his quad bike… he was not impressed, made us turn around and escorted us back to the exit! He was ok at the end!!!😂 PS: K needs a new tee shirt so I watched all the adds so he can afford to buy a new one! 😜
Another tip: Be careful about running over dead Mulga tree branches. They are as hard as steel, and can easily puncture a 4wd tyre. On rough tracks like that, you may not know that the tyre is punctured until it is shredded. Could be expensive!
Unfortunately the gps systems when mapping run off satellite imaging and therefore put it down as a road when really its a fencing maintenance track. Just for future reference if it doesnt have a name its someone's maintenance track or home made track.
The version of Starlink everyone is using today is the Beta version, in very early 2025 we turn on the Alpha version, it will harness all 60,000 satellite's formed into a diamond Ley Line, it will be insanely fast and by the end of 2025, it will be provided free to everyone, it will run on our new 8G network and everything will run on it and from it. Phones, computers, autonomous cars, incoming flying cars and auto driverless taxis, and lots more, all phones will be sat phones too.
Really ! I question your abilities and experience in taking your Family into Australia Outback. You seem destined to perish unless you do more preparation for these journeys. 🇦🇺

There's more value in potential mistakes, than to look back with regret, upon a life of the road not taken.

Just a tip, when using a map, rotate it to the direction of travel, much easier that way
Yeah I used to do that .. now like to keep things north .. match it to the gps
