Senjougahara is totally the other central character of the series. Many of the problems that got solved were as much of result of her interference as Araragi's even if it might not be as direct as him. This scene was totally like Araragi going in extreme pervert mode when Hanekawa said she would do anything. He did the best that he could do to help her in cover of that, here Senjougahara did the same for Hanekawa. Kind of opposite from Hanekawa who would act kindly without regard to herself. Senjougahara is extremely kind but she would rather die than be acknowledged as one. While most of other people would give their life to protect Araragi, Senjougahara is most actively protecting him, even from himself at times

Senjougahara also proceeds on verbally and physically abusing him not only before the relationship, but also after when they started dating. All of my guys friends who have watched (or read) the Monogatari series says that Senjougahara is their least favorite charecter. Calling Senjougahara "extremely kind" is a stretch. She's not a "bad" person per say, I mean, she's a good friend with an "okay" personality, and of course she'd be protective of Koyomi. She's borderline obsessed with him and views him as her property.

I dont know many good friends who would go as far as she does..actually in this very season no one else but her searched for Hanekawa all night, knowingly slept in same bad as black hanekawa and risked her life with tiger. Also, faced Kanbaru knowing how dangerous rainy devil could be. She is too proud, but has swallowed her pride for sake of Araragi, its not possessive, its protective. If we judge people by just what it seems like they are doing over what they are really doing then Araragi is nothing more than a lolicon, siscon, pervert, Hachikuji is a rude child, Kaiki values absolutely nothing more than money and so on.

She pretty much steals the show whenever she is on camera. As for her kindness, the examples you mention of her abusive nature are part of a chronology-one that shows her slowly healing from the deep emotional scarring of her past. The initial stapler incident is perfect in depicting the cold-hearted extreme that represents a person with no emotional weight other than a determination to survive. We see her gradual transition to what I would think is a very kind-hearted person by the time we get to Owarimonogatari. Yes, I agree that her kindness is not obvious from a surface evaluation. But that is the point. Nisioisin doesn’t serve up any elements merely for shallow impact. He carves deep, folding in the hidden qualities that will eventually emerge to surprise us at first, then fulfill our expectations that these characters are indeed complex and human-like in the most logical sense. The logic is where the human traits, and especially the schizoid aspects, harmonize with the plot and fall into place as puzzle pieces do. So yes, some will only judge characters on the surface. They will see Nadeko as cute and innocent, and mostly harmless, rather than a hopeless and even potentially dangerous psycho (she is both). They’ll see Hanekawa as an extremely kind person-practically an angel, rather than a hopeless victim of dehumanization with a neutered personality, half being an automaton that always agrees without consideration, half being a hidden violent monster (she is both, and she is also kind). And some will see Senjougahara as a cold and sadistic person, rather than someone who has retained a certain playfulness, despite having been traumatized in the past, and now strives to lower her defenses and share her love with another. Those of us who see the kindness in her core personality, and the affection in her “sadistic” interplay with Araragi, are responding to Senjougahara’s depth of character when we proclaim her to be “best girl” (well, that plus she has pretty eyes and a lovely voice). Her affection for Araragi and her consideration for Hanekawa are both manifest as quite strong drivers, very plain to see, despite the playful/intellectual masking that is part of her character. As a complete package, there’s just more going on upstairs, and I find it to be delightful!
Believe it or not, In the books she did worse things with Hanekawa after Araragi had told her about him kissing Ohnonoki, Shinobu and Hachikuji. Funniest thing is she made him kneel naked and told him that his punishment will be watching her violate Hanekawa. It's too bad the studio didn't animate that at the end of Onimonogatari.

It's not a thing. It exists as a concept, but stuff like Oedipus and Electra complexes have little evidence. Sigmund Freud is famous, but many of his outlandish ideas have been debunked in modern times.
It's moreso a mix of other character's narratives partly skewing their perspective of Senjougahara, as well as Senjougahara presenting herself differently to others vs. Koyomi
