On your turn 1 what about playing Flicker Wisp fused for two arcane, getting go again for Second Strike then Lightning Press the Static Shock for another two arcane? They had the dreact anyways but maybe they say no blocks on the Static Shock to try and cover it with one card.
Out of curiosity, why do you say Florian would like to go first? I feel like the ideal play for him is to have you potentially attack and drop the earth from his hand for decompose.
In my experience, Florian wants to go first so that he can set up (Grasp, Arcane Seeds//Life, get an Earth attack in the yard, arsenal, etc.) and so that Aurora can't. Florian has very little to do on Turn 0 compared to Aurora.
not related comment but ninja is back!
Ninja never left (but maybe he will now!)!

Pushing early damage is less important to me than not letting Florian get Earth cards into his discard for decompose.

I don't play Aurora but this was really interesting regardless, crazy that the missed purg bait probably lost you the game
Thank you! I appreciate you stopping by :) Aurora vs. Florian is a really tight matchup where little mistakes add up over a long game.
Respect for posting your non-winning matches for analysis.
The losses usually make for better reviews than the wins. No one learns much from me talking about how good my decision-making process is!
