You are absolutely having too much fun. Thanks for the latest video. That was quite a storm. We are back in New Zealand for our "second summer" once again. Wish we could have a coffee with you to hear all about your adventures. Filed under Just Another Story That He Loves to Tell, Iron Wind was struck from astern by a 35' aluminum fishing boat doing 25+ kt. in Houstoun Passage near Saltspring Island last summer. Hector was single-handing at the time, and was doing our usual sedate 6.5 kt. $60,000 later all is well. Thankfully, it was the other guy's insurance company's $60K. She is back in Friday Harbor for the winter while we are enjoying the sunshine here.
First of all, we wish we were able to have that cup of coffee again with you two as well. Perhaps you'll be in Europe over the next few years? If not, we'll make it happen again somewhere! Glad to hear that you are ok and she's all back together at someone else's expense. Crazy experience. Also glad you enjoyed the episode. We are having fun in between the challenges, which is really the description of life in a nutshell. Love hearing from our longtime online crew and that reminds me that I need to get cranking on another newsletter! Cheers and here's hoping this NZ summer is WAY better than last year's! Kevin and Carla
The storms here have been nuts. We had another big storm in Ibiza that was just as bad or worse. We didn't take any damage there but the nearly new catamaran next to us ended up getting pushed into the concrete pier by the storm surge and taking some real damage. That's where we boat the extra fenders, the springs and the big inflatable fender for the stern. It's funny how much you learn when the shit hits the fan. Just like the old work days! Hope all is well with you. Cheers from Hammamet, Tunisia
Thanks, we've nailed that cross as well. We actually added those lines but didn't capture on camera. Our issue is the lines then interfere with our passerelle. Oh well, always something. Thanks for watching and commenting, and for the welcome! Loving it here.

Ok that storm and wind was nuts. I am glad you were tied up and not underway.

If you make a cross on the stern mooring, you will stay still and not swing.. and welcome to Europe 🎉
