I thought the overhead cage was to protect the dogs head if you were in a bicycle accident (similar to how a human helmet would). However, it is only attached with a couple of rubber bands and would likely be ineffective in protecting doggos head in an accident as it would probably pop off.
Are most people not worried about the dogs safety in case of an accident?

Hi there, some riders like to attach a kids trailer to their bikes for their pets. It's definitely more comfortable and safer for the pets

Best to only take dogs on trails not main roads. My dog trainer said a basket is better as especially in uk with styles and Gates etc
