Thank you so much for suggesting the slightly larger size 60 idle jet! I have a 34PICT3 carburetor, only gasoline diluted with ethanol is available around me, and I'm about 500 ft above sea level. Before switching to a 60 idle jet my engine usually stalled when coasting the car to a stop (like when driving up to a traffic light or stop sign), and tapping the accelerator pedal would keep the engine from sputtering out but that is kind of hard to do when braking. Cleaning the older idle jet helped just a little. And now with the size 60 idle jet installed my engine runs really well without any annoying stalling issues! Later I might also swap in a larger size 130 main jet... but so far I'm very happy with these results!
Good video. I like the comments at the end, You can tell you have some excellent knowledge and its always great to share. Stay positive and keep up the great videos.
Thanks, good info. I'm actually going to help a friend with his fuel pump, he installed a new one, not working, so I will take him one of my spare long type push rods...that should do it...
Another great video Slades. In my area we have two gas stations that have ethanol free gasoline so I run 93 ethanol free in mine. We also have a station that sells 100 octane leaded racing gas but it’s not for road vehicles and I don’t want to take a risk getting caught using it lol. Thanks for the tips on the carburetor. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Blake, we have a place up the road. That sells pretty much anything you want. But the ethanol free gas is crazy expensive. I think it’s like five dollars a gallon.
How are you brother. Doing well over here. I started the engine. Feel pretty good about it. First start in over 25 years. I still have to do a thing here and there, but overall good.
I had fuel pressure issues on my car with the newer pump and an old guy told me to add more gaskets under it so doesn’t have as much push. Fixed my problem right up and I don’t need a regulator…wondering if you’ve ever tried that?
Hi Slade, is this a new video? It looks like a combo of new and old? The hinge on the engine cover on your friends bug looks like a way to keep the engine cooler?
Roman Dolan Go by how your cars running. When there’s an idle problem here, from our fuel...no vac leaks! I upjet to 60 and it cures it! On the roll if there’s an issue with running hot. A 127.5 main helps a lot, even up to a 130. They run to lean on today’s poopy fuel. With 5% if your idling okay and not running hot you should be fine. Thanks for being here!!

@@SladesVWBeetle yeah ours is around $3.50 or so it’s not cheap so I get my dad to buy it for me he brings it back in a gas can 😂

Tim's Workshop TJY I’ve been putting up some of my older videos. Almost have the most of them
Up. That honestly does help lower the engine temp!
Hey
Your video title sounds like you are working on a beetle, 😂!
How Laney Lives I just shower to tips n stuff that time 😁
Slades VW Beetle 😂
Some great tips. Here in the uk we have 1/2 as much ethanol as in USA I.e 5%, would you still recommend the larger idle and main jets?
