I really enjoyed the last videos, they are getting better and better, especially with these entertaining co-commentators like Bryan, Matt and not-tired Chris. (But please don't forget our all-time favourite gasstationfoodcyclist with all your new cool friends 😎)
11:00 is my favorite because Jeff's like "hey, you need this to work waaay more than I do". It's not a friendship contest, and that was textbook riding in a break when you're the best sprinter and you have a big team working behind you. I learn a lot from these videos!
Thx for posting. I won this race a few times, last time being 1987 in the P1-2. Always like to get that Cherry pie! Very technical course even back then!
FWIW (for future reference), if the new sponsor is Voler the clothing manufacturer from SLO, they pronounce it VolAY (kind of a pretentious French affectation)
@@jamesf8864 Then no. There's a big difference in french between é and è sounds. One comes from the middle of the mouth cavity with the lips only half open (like the french world voler, or é) the other, the one Patrick describes, the è, comes from the front of the mouth with lips opening up and is more like french world violet (the t being silent there)
@@lauig The difference here is that the word is not vole, volé or volè, it's voler. Voler is the infinitive of the verb to fly, and in this instance, the 'er' ending is pronounced the same as an 'é' 🙂
@@jamesf8864 I am French. (My comment was solely based on patrick's one, "VolAY (kind of a pretentious French affectation)" which doesn't seem to describe the boringly classic way of pronouncing "Voler" à la française.)
@@lauig I think he was just making sure people pronounce the second syllable as "lay" (in English) rather than "lare". This is the problem when people use foreign languages - the pronunciation always goes wrong 😂
I've been watching all your race videos. They are so good! the racing there is so different from what we have here. racing categories here are divided based on age of the rider. and if you don't know who your racing with how do you set yourself up to win? assuming you don't have teammates or sometimes a couple. in your opinion, what should be best course of action for this situation? thanks!
It's a really hard race that takes the snap out of your legs, plus he went very early for the surprise factor. I'm willing to bet he just ran out of steam and was trying to carry as much of his momentum to the line.
btw, how do these speed-measurements work? cause if you look at 8:00 the speed goes from 30 to 20 kph on a climb, which is understandable, but then keeps falling long after the apex, then slowly rises to 30kph until it pops to 50kph even though on video nothing happened... and it cant be a delay because right after the apex he went downhill
65m to the line, the guy upgraded to your grade sat up, to let you pass ... he was going for 2nd ...... do you think going up a grade and winning it would be smart ......
oh that's a really cool effect with the wattage of other riders
Agreed! Jeff - any details on how you are accomplishing that? Software, workflow, etc...
dashware and premiere pro. i made a video about it check my channel

Haxen Schorsch 😘
Definitely NOT tired
🤣🤣🤣
Another great video! "Skinny Willie" is our new guy Brad Wiggs from San Luis Obispo. He's hilarious and you and Chris will love him.
*Really* good tactics explanation about TMB in the field keeping the break only so far away so Voler can't control the race. 👍
This is addictive. I’ll be watching these videos all night. First time I’ve heard Chris who has helped win a lot of races.

9:37 Crash
14:37 Finish
Wezly spoilers lol
I vomited just looking at those power numbers going up and down. Cool video. Greetings from Austria, NorCal.

@14:52 Chris - 'Jeff when I saw this video for the first time I was confident that you lost' LOOOOOOOOL I'M DYING XD XD XD
That sprint at the end is so far beyond my reach I can't even comprehend what happened
This is some next level editing, mans got the watts of other riders wtf, we’ve Pokemon evolved
Willie Myers! What a guy, pretty sure he's everyones favourite racer at every city he visits.
I LOVE the Cherry Pie course... as long as I get a decent start!
Way to keep on the power Jeff! Impressive sprint for the W👍🏽
That sprint from Yuri tho, fly around like a bullet!
Hey guys, Ive got my first crit coming up this June in the UK and it's because of your videos! Congrats on another win!
FWIW (for future reference), if the new sponsor is Voler the clothing manufacturer from SLO, they pronounce it VolAY (kind of a pretentious French affectation)
Or...simply the correct pronunciation of the French word, voler 😉

Awesome! I can’t wait for my first crit in March
Awesome job! Will we get to see your new bike?
Watched this one being voiced over on Instagram live, a lot of fun! Exciting ending too, keep up the great work!
Catching up on some old videos that I missed while waiting for the Red Bull fixie races to make an appearance.
what a video man! tthe way skinny willy rides is so nice to watch, reminds me of hirshi. monster ride from Jeff as always
These videos are just pure gold!
That course looks absolutely exhausting. So many corners!!

Super strong legs and finish!!! Congratulations!!!
lovely video
you tried really hard to shake that tiny willy and finally he dropped off. As always entertaining stuff, thanks.
As a Brit, 7:50 onward is pure gold.
Damn these races awe awesome to watch!
Another great one,. Thanks! And wow that course is so weird
Super cool double data!
Epic sprint. Nice job. I could never do this corners :)
Looks like a really good race to me, gj guys
Congrats on the win! Love your content
Thanks for sharing. Great racing 👍
Spoiler in the title is a major bummer! Still loved the video
Justin williams is such a beast on sprinting.
What an interesting course
Gahhhh, I've got work to do!
13:59 WILLIE NO!
oh he lived
I was scare for you too at that last lap. If he waited 50 meters he might have gotten you.
lol...tinier willy...them's fightin words!
WOOHOO GREAT WIN!
beast
This course is like an autocross.
That dude attacked then went arms on the tops surely smashing it to the line wouldve been better? Either way stellar effort !
It's a really hard race that takes the snap out of your legs, plus he went very early for the surprise factor. I'm willing to bet he just ran out of steam and was trying to carry as much of his momentum to the line.
In any case, it was a well timed move (he came past with a lot of speed) that caught me by surprise and almost got the best of me.
@@NorCalCycling indeed ! He opened a nice gap on you for the run to the line another insightful video !
This course is insane. I think vegan cyclist did this race last year and it took a while to get used to the corners.
IIRC Yuri took a free lap in this race, but didn’t pay attention to why. What happened?
He crashed
@@NorCalCycling I should probably read video descriptions.
awesome

GPS flawed
Looks like a brand new front tyre, what rubber are you riding on?
Sworks turbo, came on the bike
Oooh what’s the new bike???
@@nathanphillips875 I would guess Venge or Tarmac, as they specialized sponsor the team.
Venge 👍
Do you run 28mm tires?
26mm

14:40 what if he keep boxing you in and wait a bit later to sprint
may be he can get a win
Must. Get. Home. Faster.
*I swear, the video looks like Madden Cycling* (it does not look real)
Always hang on to the last sprint... There is no reward for the person doing the hard work in the front. Kind of dissapointing
5:37 very very careless, if he had angled himself more and moved his wheel to the right both of them would be gone
