      There is some truth to it. You do have to take care of your hair to maximize its length and shine, but the length of you hair also depends on your genes. Some people can grow their hair to a certain extent no matter how healthy their hair is. I prefer shoulder length hair...or up to my chest if I can style it well. All women should love their hair.

      All my friends are Asian, only one of them has bad hair.. so it is down to race but i agree with you, it DEPENDS on how well you look after it. But genetically some races do have better hair, damaging it is individual choices.

    WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR CONDITIONER AND SHAMPOO

  • @lovejblovepink
    @lovejblovepink 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    My personal tip is use sulfate free. It keeps your hair so much shinier and heathier and the oils aren't stripped from your hair. I personally use goldwell curly twist. Everything from goldwell is sulfate free. It smells nice, it's safe for colored hair (I do color my hair) and it makes your hair so soft and shiny. It also tames your curls so they are more even.

    Okay so my hair is pretty long, but it is soo thin! It's so frustrating. I go in the pool a lot because I'm on the waterpolo team, but I wear a swim cap to keep it dry from the chlorine. I'm definetly trying this.

      Something to keep in mind is that humans naturally lose around 50 - 100 hairs per day. This is the average and when you have really long hair it can seem like you are losing SO MANY hairs, but it's just because they are long and highly visible. (and there is a lot of "hair" per strand compared to a short strand). Odds are, unless you are actually seeing thinning of hair on your scalp, you are probably not losing as much hair as it seems. My hair is very long, I constantly clog up the vacuum, and have to clear the drain after almost every shower, and I would wager if I counted each strand there wouldn't be more than 20 in that drain, just again, each strand is super long. When my hair was short, like shoulder length, it wasn't as bad. This has been going on my whole life and I still have a TON of super thick hair.

    • @WenCookie
      @WenCookie 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the same problem... but I started to only comb my hair ONCE a day, and to not look the hairbrush because otherwise I would be too aware of how much hair was falling out. And I started to go to the gym/yoga... This helped me a lot.

      Whenever I shower and I brush my hair while it's wet soo many hairs fall out. I can also easily pull out chunks of my hair. I'm 14, so it's not an issue with aging. I also straighten my hair everyday unless I'm not going anywhere... which I know isn't good but that's the only heat I use on my hair.

    No, our hair grows from the roots so cutting it will not effect the rate at which it grows. But cutting it so often will definitely mean that your hair will take very long to grow as you will be getting rid of some of the growth that has taken place. I usually get my hair cut every 6 - 8 months. I would say grow your hair out for as long as you can and only get them trimmed when some split ends start to appear. That's what I do :)

    If you have curly hair you can only comb your hair in the shower while you have conditioner in it using a wide tooth comb. You start combing from the bottom and work your way up, which you also said. If you brush your hair when it's dry or out of the shower, you comb your curls out, ie no curl only frizz :)

    Cold water closes the hair follicles which then trap the natural oils and that adds the natural shine to your hair. Wash with warm water, rinse with cold water to close the hair follicles.

    Hi from 2017! I do an almond oil/peppermint oil combo (3 parts almond to 1 part peppermint) before I shower. I rinse it out in the shower and then wash my hair. IT. IS. AMAZING. My hair has never felt so wonderful! The peppermint helps stimulate scalp and the almond oil hydrates! My hair grows faster now! :D

  • @StellarCry

    Really good tips! Here are a few things to add: there's one problem with SleekLook by Matrix: it contains silicones. It's one cause why you have to wash your hair often - if you use products without you can have pretty hair for 4-5 days and also make the (almond) oil work better because there's no silicone coat on your hair preventing the conditioner from getting in. Almond oil is a great choice, but ordinary olive oil does wonders too, just in case you can't get almond oil.

    You can in fact continue using your shampoo, why, you may ask it's simple you detox the scalp, and that removes any of the build up of products in your hair. So you should be good with continued use of your shampoo.
    Warm water when shampooing and bathing and decrease the water temp until the water is as cold as you can stand it. It closes the pores and cuticle of the hair, and cools the natural oils in your scalp.

    our hair has to be nourished from both inside and out side. Blood carries the vitamins, fatty acids to hair cell from inside, However, we can support our hair from the root to tip with some natural oil and hair care product. I have seen some comments about Ultra Nourishing Oil Treatment and shampoo from "arganlife products". My sister is using them. Her hair grows faster than before, which looks shiny and healty. check it out

    The combing the hair in the shower is actually fine and if you have kinky hair it's recommended. You shouldn't comb your hair dry. It makes it break off and breakage slows down growth.

      This applies for afro natural hair. But relaxed afro hair should not be combed when wet. natural hair: combed when wet. Relaxed: combed when almost dry. The reason is relaxed hair are very fragile. Rhey tend to break when brushed wet.

    Comb your hair gently. A comb can rip through your hair, making it a terrible mess. Use a wide-tooth comb and-- starting from the bottom to the top-- detangle the last few inches, then detangle a few inches higher, working your way up.

I also do a coconut oil treatment about once a month.

    Your hair is naturally pretty. You wouldn't have to do anything to it and it would still look good.

    I usually find I get headaches from using a hair tie instead of actually having my hair back, there are bunch of youtube videos that can show you how to make buns with chopsticks, pens, or any other straight objects; I find when I make a bun with chopsticks it does not give me a head ache. I hope that helps :)

    she's not wrong - she didn't say NOT to apply at the roots - she said IF you don't want to wear you hair down to maintain volume - apply most of the conditioner at the ends. She's saying how to condition the hair we have - NOT grow it

    I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your video! I do comb my hair in the shower, I do put a TON of conditioner in the shower, but I won't anymore! I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thank your for sharing, and btw, I laughed and smiled at your fun personality!

    Idk about the pH, but medically speaking the reason why your hair falls out when you are on chemo therapy is because it attacks the cells that divide rapidly which is a main characteristic of cancerous cells. This is also why people on chemotherapy have depressed immune systems or nausea.
