It’s a solid mic, but definitely unique in terms of use. I’ll probably setup a boom arm on my desk and use it primarily for talking head stuff. You’ll love the Lark M2’s!

It’s possible plug in a shotgun into a DJI Mic transmitter. I do this all the time, and it even provides plug-in power so most on camera (non-XLR) will work with it. It has the added benefit of a recorded safety track.
Yeah, technically, you can do that with any mic that has a lav input and internal recording. It's just not as all-in-one as the VM30, which is why it gets the 'world's first' tag. I've tried it-it works, but it's bulkier and less sleek than this. Still, it's a good (solid) option if you already have the gear and don’t want to spend more!
The Zoom Microphone , records to itself and also has 32 bit float, and in the software you can take the audio and make it stereo and mono after the fact and surround
I use Premiere Pro, but I’ve got some friends that use CapCut and Davinci Resolve and each program has pros and cons. If you’re familiar with the Adobe suite, Premiere will be the easiest to learn. I greatly appreciate it, TH-cam is an awesome platform but definitely a learning curve in itself.

Zoom M3 was first and imo I think it sounds better than this one.
