Hi Will, yeh not a bad session considering I don't seem to have had much time to get out fishing of late. That Leech was a horrible thing (dead now though). Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, much appreciated.
Hi Karen, since I've moved here I seem to have less time to fish, this session was most enjoyable. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, much appreciated.
Hi Flinty, yes it was a shame it got away, bit through 30lb Amnesia. I reckon a large Conger. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, much appreciated.
Hi Lincoln, I've not been out fishing much lately as other things in the way so I enjoyed this session. Just got some Black Lug in so will be targeting the Cod as soon as the tide is right. Hope you're well?
Hi Paul, I've not been able to fish much of late so this session was most enjoyable. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, much appreciated.
Hi Carl, apparently the Leech you see in the video is rare to see from the sea and usually only found in fresh waters (apparently)??? Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, much appreciated.
Hi, just discovered your channel, it popped up in my TH-cam recommendations. I subscribe to quite a lot of fishing channels but your one had "slipped through the net", not seen it before. Now I need to binge watch your past videos. Thanks for the content.
Hi Andrew, there has been some Cod about for the past few weeks hence me buying some Black Lug. Going to have a go for the Cod when the tide is right. Hope you are well mate?
Hi, yes I believe a large Conger bit through the 30lb Amnesia trace, still a nice bite though. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, much appreciated.
It was an enjoyable session. Usually I wait 2-3 days after a storm so as to let the weed settle or go away however, as I couldn't see much weed in the surf I took a chance (on this occasion) and went the day after it was rough and hard rain. Thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated.
I have gone back to my 80s ZZiplexes as I want a rod that BENDS into a fish. These ultra stiff modern poles leave me aghast! Way back in the seventies we used rods that would REALLY bend with a 5lb codling. They weren't casting poles but we still caught plenty of fish!
Hi Kerry, have you tried a feeder rod? That would give you the bend your looking for. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, much appreciated.
Hi Rob, awesome video. If you don’t mind me asking where were you fishing? We are heading to West bay in two weeks, any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks, Andy
Hi Andrew, this was Freshwater Beach which is a privately owned beach and technically, you need a day permit if they still sell/issue them, I'm not sure? You can fish from East Beach in West Bay which can produce well, I fish from there also. West Beach is very snaggy, fishable at only very short casting distance (30 meters max) or you will snag everytime, not a beach I fish from unless desperate to get out and have no transport. Fishing from the Piers is quite common but again, not for me, difficult to land fish. I'd fish from East Beach in West Bay or if you have transport, West Bexington, Cogden, Abbotsbury and many more beaches are VERY good fishing. Distance is key 90% of the time however, 10% of the time, in short will catch the best. It is a trial and error sort of thing or watch and talk to others who are fishing on that day. Happy to meet up if you want, I live in the Bay and I'm on Instagram.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. That’s really helpful. I’m not great at casting so fishing in close avoiding the snags sounds good. Whether I catch anything or not I’m really looking forward getting out there. Cheers.
