    Graham, I've come over from Mike's channel & I'm so glad I did. I gave up fishing years ago due to bad health, but you have refreshed my passion. I have started to build my gear up and will be put there come Spring/Summer.

    Excellent video. Those were some nice carp! I got to finally hit the river today after spending almost two weeks suffering with the you know what. Today was extra 'soecial'. Not only was I back in action, but I finally hooked one of my 'bucket list' fish, a Bowfin!!! Not a big one, only 6 lbs but still!! I caught it using a small chunk of uncooked but previously seasoned before freezing (salt/pepper) piece of chicken breast trimming my wife saved for me. It took about 10 minutes to land as it hit my hook about 25 yards out and in fairly fast moving water and I did not want to loose it in the rocks. That beauty along with a few 5+ pound large mouth bass made for one awesome afternoon. Thank you for helping me keep my sanity with your videos while I was fighting the 'C'.

    Great episode. Clearly an effective method. I have never seen or heard of a chummer float. I do have something similar in the form of a maggot float. Same principle where by you load the base of the float which just so happens to be a maggot feeder contraption, full of maggots and then cast out the self weighted float and away you go. I have only actually used it once. I want to give it another try after watching this video. :) Thanks for an excuse to fish! Tight lines everybody

    Been making plans to add some chum techniques to a shore mark I fish regularly. Maybe not actually from the float itself LOL. Another enjoyable video as always. Thanks.

      I reckon it would work off rocks or piers for Mackerel and Garfish,only in flat conditions though.Might not see the float if there are too many waves.

    That is like the upside down version of Japanese Sabiki fishing. Never thought of doing that sort of rig.
    For the bait you mixed up. Have not done that in ages but we use to sometimes steal grandma’s curry powder and add that as well.
    We got scolded so bad. Lol

    @thevikingbeaver9246 หลายเดือนก่อน

    with the groundbait being so sticky i would have a small pot of dry branflake so i could roll or pad some of that as an outer layer. that would then allow an immediate cloud to form and trickle through the water column while the sticky stuff loosens

    A bit surprised old Grey didn't make his own Chummer float.I know a Mullet angler who moulds a handful of mashed bread around the lead shot of his float tackle ,to feed his hook bait.

    Hi Graeme, add your paint first i.e tip colour, then add a clear varnish (two coats)..
    Great days fishing, never heard of the chum float to be honest..👍

    Made up my own floating feeders in the Summer went to a local lake and took 18 carp using micro pellets well soaked and a 8mm banded pellet on the hook, I had 5 doubles biggest being 14 pound, an absolute deadly method when they are up in the water

    Brilliant video Graeme yet again. The "Fishermans Friend" of fishing. Cheap and cheerful does the trick time and time again !!!!! Not interested in promoting all deat baits and additives as all top watchmen do> Abreath of fresh air mate. !!. Keep em coming.

    Bread, my favourite bait! In fact, it's the only bait I use nowadays. I find there are more carp closer to the surface than on the bottom generally.

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You may be right with that theory,I was getting them right off the top last night .Also caught them on the bottom but they always seem to be more active on top as the light drops.

      Video glasses ?...Do you mean my polarising glasses ?. They are prescription made,but I have to say they are dark than I would like. Good in really bright conditions but quite dark on cloudy days.

    I used to use something very similar on the Norfolk Broads, same principle with feeder on the bottom of a float, which we would fill with maggots which would slowly escape and descend to the hook bait. This would work great for about an hour or so, then the fish would soon wise up and keep well clear. I guess that’s the difference between wild fish and what generally could be described as tame fish…

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would tend to agree. Its more suitable to the commercial day ticket waters where the fish are super competitive .

    Would this float work on a river for chub ?

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have never tried it. No reason why not if you have a big chunk of flake underneath,but you would getting through groundbait every run down. It would empty on the way back I think.

      Just the way I have been brought up....nothing wrong with hard work...keeps everything in a straight line. Its just that the biggest workload seems to arrive just as the weather is getting good for fishing...who wouldn't moan...its frustrating.
