About The Shore:
THE SHORE is a first person story driven game with an atmospheric environment and narrations. You will encounter mysterious creatures and unravel the secrets behind them. Strong elements of horror, struggle to survive an unknown world that will make you question your own sanity.
The Shore is a game about the mystery of the unknown, set on a forbidden island filled with horrors. Based on the works of H. P. My only complaint of this game is how loud the music can be at times.
100% agreed, it was super hard to understand indy or even the narrator at some times

I was trying to figure out what the sound designer was referencing around when he catches a glimpse of a tentacled horror, and it finally hit me: it's very much like the creepy music from the film version of Annihilation.

That’s how youtubers get views. No one would tune in to see someone stoic play games.
Real horror is ambience and the hints of what's around the corner and behind you, not tentacle creatures. The stuff your imagination suggests is almost always way scarier than what can be shown, especially in a video game.

just to clarify, a Orca boat actually is a type of boat rather than the name for one. usually used for lobster fishing, it was modified in Jaws. so they all looked like that and they all had the Orca brand unless painted.

The voice actor sounds like ever since he was stranded all he knows is endless pain and suffering, all his hope is gone and now there is only despair.
Which he did well as it reminded me so much of how Viggo Mortensen narrated in The Road. Someone so devoid of will and so weary that just talking requires more energy than they can muster.

I've watched this playlist 5 times now and it never fails to make me cry. I always cry when he talks about how his wife died. Andrews voice says that hes been through lots of shit and has been hurt a lot, both physically and mentally. Then when he realizes that he went through all he went through, even his daughter was just made up so he could wake up Asaph and end reality. His wife, his family, his pain, his sadness, his hope, his daughter, his life just all an illusion, a dream if you will, just end reality and hopefully wake up for this sad, agonizing, and painful dream.

The sound design in this game is god tier. no pun intended.
The music is amazing.
The voice acting is phenomenal.
The graphics look fantastic.
The feels are all real.
Whoever the voice actor is, he better get an award for this. I’ve never heard anyone sound so hollow, so defeated. His voice is literally the sound of hope dying. He’s incredible. I really can’t get over his voice and hope other devs hire him for more voice work. He would have made a great voice actor for Joel in the last of us. It would have been very fitting, I think. It also has that Red Dead Redemption feel to it. A gunslinger given up fighting and Joel, a man with too much fighting left to do.
His voice just makes you want to cry.

I watched a lot of horror games TH-camrs. So far, You and Markiplier are the best at them. Mark makes them somewhat funny, you make them incredibly immersive. I feel he fear, like I am playing them myself
There is something so tragic in the delivery of the voice actor, tragic and a little extra. Just the right hint of ease with melancholy. Like a calm sea with a black wave bound to throw you deep to the floor of the ocean in the distance. It's all so breath taking yet heart breaking.

Bro, cosmic horror is just amazing, all the idea around humanity's primal fear, the unknown and about creatures and things so horrifiyng that the one who sees It get insane and don't even can explain, and the place, the atmosphere, the music, dialogues, all of that is made perfectly to give that sensation of loneliness and ate the same time the fear of the things we pass throughout the gameplay, just amazing.

First story i recommend: The Rats in the Walls
Dude, go for it, its simply amazing, read Tha Call Of Cthulhu, i know its the tipical one, but its so good, that story got me into Lovecraftian mythology

Well, the thing is, only one of those creatures is Cthulhu. That’s a name, not a species. The rest are various other beings from the Mythos. Some of the statuettes you find, for example, depict Nyarlathotep. The thing with stumpy legs and a lot of tentacles on top of its body seems to be a Dark Young of Shub-Niggurath. The humanoid fishmen are the Deep Ones, servants of Dagon and Cthulhu. And the alien monster that chases you down some corridors is stated to be an avatar of Cthulhu. Calling them all cthulhus is, well, not correct at all.
