Somehow I missed this video when it was originally posted. I think I enjoy the videos spotlighting the "secondary" highways of SoCal over the ones just of I-15 or I-5. Thanks for another great ride along.
California has so much coverage that it can be hard to find some original things to film, but it's such an interesting state, that it's hard not cover old territory. Thanks for the watch and the comment.
Really nice ride, but sucks to see the 56/15 interchange isn’t fully controlled access. I-15 looked to be one of the most modern freeways I’ve seen from California. Also, a metric sign at the end is two thumbs up from me!
Saw the exit where I used to take to go to work :) These local lanes are too short and may never compare to the collectors (if I guess right, you are referring to Highway 401 in GTA?).
Interstate 15 and interstate 5 often get congested since there’s no third interstate connecting Los Angeles and San Diego.Interstate 5 would be less congested if interstate 405 connected Los Angeles and San Diego but I doubt there’s any path viable for interstate 405 since it would likely travel east of interstate 5 through Carmel valley, Del Mar and Encinitas. Next where would interstate 405 intersect California state route 56 since there’s houses In between Carmel country road and Carmel valley road. I don’t think there’s any path viable for interstate 405 in San Diego county.
San Diego is a great city to drive through. The freeways are almost as cool as what one can find in Los Angeles, but the traffic is much more manageable. This was filmed with a Sony AX-33.

When I moved to San Diego in 1966, there was nothing but country in that part of North county. What a difference 53 years makes.
wow that fog seemed to clear out in the blink of an eye half way through!
Imagine my shock upon seeing fog this thick when I moved to Florida...

0:42 to 1:13 California's answer to Hwy. 401
3:23 Something you don't see every day---a *traffic light* on a freeway!
The freeways of SoCal are pretty amazing.

Hi Asphalt Planet, I have a request to make:
Could you make Idaho Falls to butte (Montana)?
Thanks for the comment, unfortunately I do not have any plans to visit Montana
@@AsphaltPlanet1 That's bad, but OK, I understand
Great ride! I need to get out to San Diego one day, wasn’t able to in recent years, but still on the radar. What are you using to record video?

Had some good times as a teenager in Escondido...
I also like interstate 15 the most in the US
