I've been a death metal listener for 24 years and been exposed to extreme rhythms and double kicks countless times. But whenever I hear Lars pulling these DK parts off successfully, I somehow feel happy and excited as a kid, as if listening MetallicA for the first time. =D Thank you MetallicA, for putting lots of effort and energy at these ages of yours! Respect. \m/
THAT FUCKING SCREAM AT 0:43 IS ME I SWEAR. I remember when they busted this one out it really surprised me and I just screamed for a while. I’m so glad they put this one AND sanitarium in the set for this show, it was Fucking epic
I would lose my fucking mind if I saw them play this live. This is probably my all time favorite Metallica song. It’s NON STOP aggression. I love the way they performed this too. Lars with the DK is very satisfying to hear
One of my favorites!! My husband and I have been into them for decades and we took our son to this show. They started shortest straw and it set off the night! Outstanding!
rob is such a valuable talent to this band i mean i miss jason the kid but rob is such an inspired musician and spirit! thats what the metallica boyz sure need. tight version of this song====666 the shortest straw has been pulled for you!
Incredible album, I was 15 when I heard blackened played on Irish radio and got the record ASAP, hearing this followed by harvester literally blew me away, what an album, what a band
The expression on Rob's face when they kick in at the beginning says it all! Great stuff! He was truly getting into the groove! Great opening to the song.
I'm happy that Metallica has so versatile catalogue behind them. The live shows are filled with many different gems: old school thrashy stuff from Kill, Ride and Master, rather progy thrash from Justice, classic heavy-rock stuff from Black, Load and Reload and even something very different like from St. Anger!
Just talked my parents into buying my an AJFA tee.. Metallica, thank you for helping me forget what I couldn't have before listening. Fuckin love you guys hope to see you guys live later on in life.
The day AJFA came out, I heard Metallica for the first time, by the time Shortest Straw and Harvester of Sorrow played on that first CD spin, I "got it". I have been an unrepentant die hard MetallicA fan since.
Do you know I just got done watching? The video on Netflix and it just seems to me. You guys have so much material and so much good music to draw from like you said you guys were the best heavy metal band known to mankind. You have so much material to draw from why do you need to do new stuff if it's not coming to you artistically and creatively stick with what you know, do what you do.
Awesome! This is 1 of my favorite Metallica songs along with Harvester of Sorrow and I love how they played this! Yeah, a little fast but Kurt nailed the solos! I love it!!!!
I’ve noticed the comments on every Metallica song on TH-cam about Lars drumming, good or bad. Then say that certain song is the greatest. Just effin listen to the song! Like watching a film and naming all the poor films they did but still here watching
That "countdown thing" Lars does right before the vocals of verse 1 (he skipped it there =)) and 2 kick in is just what makes his kind of drumming so damn nice. It may be relatively ´simple´ but it sets highlights! Kansas City, I envy you! Greetings from Germany.
Meravigliosa performance cari Metallica ♥ Ti ringrazio infinitamente per aver condiviso questo brano stupendamente interpretato e fantastico videoclip ★ Complimenti e affettuosi saluti!!♦
They where epic in the 80s, awesome in the 90s and later they where still good. I love it when they play their older songs, because they simply are better.
Its would have been great if they played this one with Lombardo when he did that fill date, just imagine the double bass parts here. Lars still did a good job here regardless, nice!
So metallica took the bass down in and justice for all. So what ? What is recored is done . Move alone , live in present not the past nor future and enjoy metallica 🤘 now

Lars: one more?
James: nope
lol
Lars got The Shortest Straw there

I don't know, Lars look pretty scared in some parts. I don't think he could have pulled it off without that tongue of his.
@@mikewalker7385 Not too bad for 50+ with a body that's been to hell and back at least twice!! Lol!!✌

Is double bass when Lars kicks both bass drums at the same time?
@@Hardwired16 it's when he rapidly plays them

Funny to think that next year Jason left the band 20 years ago
Robert was smiling ear to ear. He's been dying to play this!
Justice songs always sound awesome with the rawness of a live show
That yelling at 0:43 damn, that must have gone out of his own air
It reminds me of "angel of death" scream :D

Jesse Rowland You won in life!

double bass, chorus... very good job guys ;-) great performance
One of the best sounding metal albums of all times,,,,hits hard sonically.
Such a brutal riff \m/
Rob's face at the start of the song, big smile, just having fun.
Lars was having flashbacks of his guitar hero fail and thought “na stuff the intro” 😂
Lars gets a lot of hate by drummers, but the dude can still slap on the kit for his age.
I hope they play Eye of the Beholder soon. So it gets recorded. Also miss the intro to this song.
I think they dropped it because James couldn’t sing it anymore, they haven’t played it since Damaged Justice AFAIK
lars don't like that song
I think they should play to live is to die!
even kirk getting in there for backing vocals, Love it :)
Yeh true but best backing is still Jason.
One of the best thrash metal songs ever.
Incredible album, I was 15 when I heard blackened played on Irish radio and got the record ASAP, hearing this followed by harvester literally blew me away, what an album, what a band
Best song off their best album. Period.
Agree 👍👍 but whole album is perfect to me
The expression on Rob's face when they kick in at the beginning says it all! Great stuff! He was truly getting into the groove! Great opening to the song.
"Tight tight tight!" - Tuco

🤣👌
Good to hear this live. They all kill it whenever they play this song.
fuck no look at kirk's solo
These guys are truly a national treasure.

DAMN GOOD! BEST version ever!
The intro is the best exemple of Lars and Jaymz everlasting complicity! 💖
This is my hometown, and I fell in love with Metallica 2 months after this. This breaks my heart that I may never get to see them live.
The aggressiveness and intensity of this whole album is a raw force of nature. And Justice forever!
This song is soooooo sick. Underrated as hell.

Why are there some people that say this was a filler song? It's awesome and fits in the album pretty good
