For me it was Eternal Splash from Kaido Battle: Touge No Densetsu that grabbed my attention because this rival is disgustingly OP for a difficulty spike in that game for unknown reason.
@@MattDuttonit would have used a driveline like the g112 Charade has, we didn't get them locally here in Australia but they were available to the Japanese and European market
Been going down the Japanese Domestic Rally/Dirt Trial rabbit hole and I finally know about this car after a few anecdotes I've heard about Daihatsu developing a car to dethrone the Alto Works of that time (I'm a Suzuki fan myself). It's almost like the LanEvo/Impreza wars Cheers!
@4:02 Yes, the successor Daihatsu Boon X4 is cheaper - from USD7000 and more powerful but the Storia X4 starts at USD9000 at the moment. Must be 16000 Australian Pesos CIF. 🤔
What an awesome car. Wish my GTVi had that front end.
Thanks for watching!

When I crewed for Team Daihatsu in Rally Oz, we had a couple of 4WD Applause gravel note/ chase cars. Back in the '90's.
Didn't even realise the applause was available in 4WD, assuming it utilised Feroza running gear?
