I tried making a very simple 3 minute animation, I'm 26 seconds and that part isn't even done in the rough sketch, rough sketch, not rough animation, just rough sketch. I'm so impressed how animators finish their animations
Something I admire about this is the anonymity. We never heard a name, never get context behind their journey, and all the designs are simple yet effective. Just the visuals alone sell the whole thing, minimalist yet perfect.

A lot of times I feel like animations in particular don't get enough credit for how much passion and effort is behind them. This is amazing. The backgrounds were beautiful, the animation was fluid and expressive, the storyline was intriguing and the shots creative. Along with fitting compositing, you added high quality sound effects, voice acting; even had someone else make music specifically for this. The simple and yet recognizeable designs of your characters are very endearing as well; the props were great too. I loved watching your hard work and perserverance come together, huge respect! I'm very happy to have found something like this; I love this. It's just got such an authentic indie-animation vibe. Especially in some of the sound effects and the action shots, I can see the inspiration from other media practically ooze out of my screen! Thank you very much for the time you have put into this - it truly shows and I am looking forward to seeing what you'll create next. I wish you the best of luck in bringing forth the very real potential CAPSULES holds in the future, so reach for the stars and make it a reality! As an aspiring artist/animator, I admittedly envy your skill but things like this simultaneously show what great amounts of effort you put into perfecting your craft, which I find awesome! :)
The fact I know where every sound effect comes from would be a lot more distracting if this animation weren't so incredible! I get the feeling I'm going to really like where animation is going in the coming years.
I appreciate how easy on the eyes the color palette and shapes are. It's got a natural smoothness that is pleasing and not overstimulating, but the action motions are still dramatic and dynamic.
Hearing cave story sound effects in an animation like this makes me so happy on a level I cannot describe. There are so many fun details like that here, like a Pokeball sound used for the shaking of the head, ITS SO GOOD!!

Months ago I watched this. Today, frames of this short flew past my mind and I spent the entire day searching for it again (until I did). Every frame of it is worth watching.
I LOVE this! Every detail you need to know is conveyed simply and effectively through visuals or the single speaking character's simple, casual dialog. What are they looking for? The little capsule fellas, shown off just by the mental connection you make upon seeing them and the title. What are their personalities? Instantly able to tell via their body language, designs, and whether or not they speak or emote much. Why is the big robot so threatening, even ignoring its size? The conveniently pill-shaped USBs that immediately give you the impression of a dangerous and unstable drug/steroid user. And all that not even mentioning the art or animation itself!
In all the short films I've watched over the past few years I don't think I've ever enjoyed one quite this much. I was already infatuated with it just by the thumbnail.
