Got a cheap offer for a Dagger 2p demo model that was still unopened. I actually use when hiking with my GF and it's perfect, won't mind the extra weight since it's so spacious and fits two 25inch Rapid SL pads easily. Slept like a king combined some Zenbivy's. My very personal reasoning is: sleep deep, hike happy. The extra weight pays for itself during the day.
Glad it was helpful! I don’t have experience with the 3p and it’s a lot more weight and price… BUT I do have another 3p tent review coming up soon, that I’m excited about so stay tuned for that!
Looks to be the same tent that was advertised in today’s Costco e-mail under the Denali brand for $79.99. I’d like to see someone from the marketing department from these outdoor equipment manufacturers who decided to call a tent so narrow it’s no wider than a single person’s spread elbow tips a “two person tent“ have to sleep in that tent with another person with whom they are not romantically involved. There are three person tents out there that would be tight for two normal people .
Definitely not the same tent, same color maybe, but that seems to be where the similarities end. The Denali tent weights about 5 lbs. Yeah the tent sizing is based off how many of the older/smaller size sleeping pads can fit inside, so if you can fit two 20" pads then its technically a 2P, but not so much true in real life usage.
I beg to differ. I've had my Nemo hornet 1p tent for over 5 years and love it. Fits in small spaces with all the room I need. I'm also ,6'2". Works for me. You do you!
Yeah I mentioned that point in the video, I do like that about the 1P. But that's part of the fun of backpacking right? Finding out what you like and what works for you.
Perfect timing, going to pick up the 2P for this summer. Thanks for the vid! Minor suggestion to just show a b-roll shot of both tents packed up to compare packed size.
Pretty tricky there Adam. :) I've got the 2 person version. I tried setting it up on a windy night and it kept on collapsing on itself. It might have been user error or maybe I didn't guy it out well enough but...I've been backpacking for a long time. So, probably not. :) Other than that, it's been good.
Interesting! I live in a pretty windy spot so maybe I’ll have to setup in a wind storm and see how it fairs. Or see if I’m just better at guying out. 😜 JK jk!
Good review, I'm a bit concerned with the ends where the fabric of the fly has been shortened, I would be worried that water would seep in during heavy rain when the wind blows hard.
I don't think there's any downside except over-cut the head fly part. -50gram and condensation, I prefer +50gram without condensation, but Nemo maker misjudged.
Looking at the ultralight hornet 3p for an extra pound or so I could take my whole family, just hate to spend all that money and have to buy a bigger one down the road
Seems logical - might want to be sure the 3p will actually fit you all though. There might be better options in the 4P category! You could always get one at REI and try it out and return it if it doesn't fit y'all well.
So the big fake out was to get the 2 person tent instead of the 1 person tent , Woohoo These are good summer tents but not good for heavy rain or winds , that's better info 😮
Anywho goes camping in heavy rains is a) miserable; and b) a damn boastful liar if he or she claims that camping in heavy rains is not a miserable experience.
Annoys me to death these TH-camrs that recommend gear that's either way too expensive or they don't even use , just doing it for sake of a upload and to get views and ultimately get money
I know the poster was vague, but I THINK he is referring to other TH-camrs and not you. I’m honestly not sure because the comment was not very clear, but you obviously used both tents and had a clear opinion on them so I dont think that complaint is referring to your review. Also these tents are by no means as excessively expensive as a cottage brand tent, so I don’t think that part of his comment is referring to your review either. What should be said is, “great review. Thanks for testing the equipment and giving me a great review based on your point of view.” So my comment is clear, I enjoy your videos and your point of view.
@@DadCamps tbh I didn't watch your full video , as it's the new way of advertising products you can see , tents, EDC tools and more doing rounds from TH-camr to TH-camr, yet they talk from a point like they use or have the product yet looks brand new , I know when I use stuff overtime it gets marks rule of life , yet stuff they have literally looks like they bought it yesterday, people are not daft some are but a majority aren't . Good vid from what I watched
As a stealth camper, the color of the new version is SO much better!
@@Mr.A_nyc fair point!

Sounds like a perfect setup!
Thank You! Great review seeing someone in the tent, being able to visualize gear etc. would love to see this on the 3p tent version.

Appreciate that!!

Me too! Glad it was helpful.

Yeah seems like a fair concern, but also turns that section into a single wall tent where condensation might be an issue, right above your head.
Very nice and useful video, thank you
Sweet! Glad it was helpful.
Thanks! Happy F day bro
Dude! Thank you! My first super chat! How awesome.
Good perspective. I use the Marmot 2 person UL and love it. You should check it out!
Nice! Its on the radar now. Little heavier but seems like a good value buy.
Great perspective! I may consider upgrading my Paria Bryce 2P… 🤔
Nice! Yeah a lot of tents offer similar value to upgrading to 2p!
I don't think there's any downside except over-cut the head fly part. -50gram and condensation, I prefer +50gram without condensation, but Nemo maker misjudged.

I have had the old version like you've got and the new OSMO version and still wasn't a fan of either. Too tight!
The 2P for a couple of years. I was about to get mad 😅

Have you had issues with this tent in a storm? I haven’t, except for the size of the 1p like I mentioned.

Thanks for saving me the time 😅🙏🏻
No I don't camp in rain but sometimes weather changes and I live In UK
The OSMO version is better

Not sure why you got this impression. Mentioned several times I’ve used the 1p for years, and I wished I had bought the 2p from the get-go.
