Heck yeah ! It was 7 degrees below zero ( F ) here yesterday morning, and I was out there on the deck griddlin' up some breakfast on the Blackstone 22. Griddle on friends, and Merry Christmas.
We live in Northern Indiana and cook year round on our BS. We live in our funeral home and try to do all our cooking outside because we use lots of onion & garlic lol even the other day when it was -10f & felt like -34f with the wind. Just got the BS pizza oven today for Christmas so ready to “give it a try!”
Great video, Todd! Being in Northern Alberta, I still take advantage of the griddle, even during some very sub zero temperatures!! The food is worth it in the end!!
Rob! I sure do appreciate you watching all my videos. I didn't realize you were in northern Alberta!!! We vacation in NW Montana every other year and have been across the border to the VERY southern tip of Alberta (Waterton National Park) but I've never been up to your neck of the woods. God bless!
@@praisehisawesomename Montana is great. Been to several places(Kalispell, Whitefish, Missoula). God's country. Waterton is pretty awesome too though. I'm quite a bit north from there. Keep on making those vids Todd!
@@praisehisawesomename BRRRRR!!!! It was TWO ABOVE this morning, with windchill at minus 16! By next Friday, it’ll be 53! (Wha????) Merry Christmas to the eight!

Hey Todd, really enjoy your videos. I have a 22”, 28” and just purchased a 36” with a a hard cover. Can the hard cover be used while cooking or just for storage? Oh by the way , i like the way you end saying praise the lord!!
Hi, Bob. It depends on what you plan on doing with the Hard Cover while cooking. * The Hard Cover is designed to be hung in the back (with the clips) while cooking so it can basically act as a grease splatter shield and/or Wind Guard * The Hard Cover is, however, just a Hard Cover. It is not a Hood. It is not designed to be put on top while the griddle is in use like a Hood is. It is for storage and top protection only. I hope that helps. Yes, all glory to my Lord, Jesus!
Hi, Kevin. Good question. Give Customer Service a call. Things have changed quite a bit since I started 10 years ago. The company has about 250 employees now so things have expanded. Customer Service would be able to answer that question but I'm sure the answer is yes. I know they just got distribution in Germany, Australia, North Africa, and the middle east. I'm told Canada just expanded quite a bit as well. Give Customer Service a call and they could give you yes/no/details. Thanks for watching & I also wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Don't know about laying in the snow for a burger photo op, but using the griddle as much as possible easily includes colder weather. I was OK until we hit -18 and 35 MPH winds. Then Used the Eseries 22 inch and that was great!! here we are 48 hours later and its 69 degrees with 20 MPH steady winds.
Darla, The top is a piece of steel. Is it isn’t going to crack. However, like I mentioned here, you will have to figure out some combination of hood, wind guards, etc. Merry Christmas!!!
I keep searching but there are so many out there and different versions . which wind guards do you recommend ? I cook outdoors all year long always have always will but the wind does become a pain in the butt . I also have burnt myself and melted things on my side shelves because of the heat escaping there , any help would be appreciated Thanks
I love my new 36" Blackstone Griddle, but with single digit temps and 20mph winds gusting to 40 and 50, it just ain't happenin'! I have cast iron, and I ain't afraid to use it! The griddle will just have to wait.
Add one! put meat on warm plates to rest, I did Christmas steak, Salmon and maple bacon greenbeans for Christmas in 29deg. weather. Flavor was on point, but I have to admit in my desire not to make the walk of shame I put the steaks back on a cold plate... I hope mine was the only one that was cold, but no one said anything if it wasn't. For those keeping score (CJ) my kryptonite count is up to 3. Brussel sprouts, Cold Weather, and the ever elusive perfectly boiled noodle.
Charlie, no. The only way you would have to do that Would be if you were literally in life-threatening temperatures to the likes of -40 below. That doesn’t happen around here.
Hey Todd I have a hood on my griddle and a cover but sometimes when I open my griddle it has mouse turds on it. It grosses everyone out. Do you know of a way to keep mice off the griddle ?
I have a 28 inch 2 burner pro series. I noticed one burner is flame and one is blue. They both used to be blue. Do I have an issue with too much air do to a leak. Still works but flame isn't as good as blue heat for sure
Hey Todd it me JO JO Again. You know the cutting board you showed us last video? Do you know the name of it? I just looked and there are .any very pricey. 8 was looking for the one with the feet ,$30.00🤔. Thanks if you have a sec! JO JO IN VT 💞💨❄️
Lol or you can do what they say not to do And move it indoors. Mine is on top of my oven with the 5 gallon bottle inside I have a spray bottle of soap to check the hose when I use it turn it off immediately when I use the deep fryer I turn off the flame when I'm putting anything directly into it in case of flare up have a fire extinguisher nearby have never needed it and then use proper ventilation open the kitchen window and turn on exhaust fan when in use has not been a problem use it almost daily
Thanks for the shout out Todd !! I love that you also enjoy griddling in the COLD 💪🏼
Delicious looking burgers and those Claussen sandwich sliced pickles are the BEST!
Mmm Mmmm. Thanks for watching. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Butch! Thank you. Merry Christmas to you as well!!!
My brother in New Hampshire uses his grill (hasn't gotten on the griddle bandwagon) in the winter on a regular basis.

Hey Bob!! Fellow okie here!! It’s been so cold here in Oklahoma!! Awesome to meet an oklahoma Blackstone griddler!! 🍻
When it’s -39° like it was the other day I do not recommend cooking outside. Otherwise I love cooking on my 36 in the winter. Stay warm out there!
Good Todd!! Those cheeseburgers looked awesome!! Balmy 20 degrees here in SE oklahoma!! 🥶🎄
Didn’t know they made wind guards. Gotta get some
They are a game changer!
Haha Todd - Great frosty burger! I wish my BBQ / Grilling area was less "exposed"! - Cheers!

for winter I coat my grill in bees wax. it keeps the water off it.. And a good cover in the grage..
Merry Christmas Todd, have Blackstone got any plans to bring their griddles and products to the UK?

I get my 36-inch Blackstone Griddle "with hood" next Tuesday! I've been watching you, The Waltwins, and CJ for a while. Can't wait to start grilling.

and where did you get your Blackstone in the middle of the winter?

I threw a couple of packets of desiccant packets in camper blackstone 22”. Seasoned or well before storage. We will see how it does.
Thanks for the video. I have been wondering if I can use it in the South Dakota winter. I was worried the griddle top would crack

You may have a plugged orfice which isn't allowing enough gas in to mix with the air to get the nice blue flame. May just need to be cleaned
How cold was it when you cooked these burgers
My two burn can't hit 300 degrees F as soon as it gets to 50 degrees F outside.
