    Chatter on the finish OD cut, so typical 😒
    When you're trying to hit that perfect finished size and the Chatter starts kicking in ???
    What I find works for me when Chatter starts on Threads is just live with it until the final cuts where I come back with light finishing passes to clean up the Thread and remove the Chatter.
    You were bound to get Chatter on a fairly thin wall material hanging out from the Chuck.

    could you go into more detail about that thread? the second threading cycle.

      It would appear that he roughed out a square thread to the major diameter (leaving stock on either side) and then ran at least 2 more cycles to finish each side of the thread without cutting on the tip of the tool, just puting a 30 degree angle on either side creating a 60 degree thread with a wide flat bottom as opposed to a standard thread with a point. cutting a thread on 3 sides of a tool is too much engagement for just one threading cycle in most cases. \_/ vs \/

    1/4” doc? I think you mean 1/8” doc, 1/4” removal.
