Hi Dean! Yeah, Speck knows their stuff! I still wish the Perfect-Clear was less slippery, but that’s my only complaint. Great clear case. And the presidio2 grip is fantastic as long as you aren’t expecting the Candyshell Grip rubbery grip lines…
Hi @ethyxnn! So, I haven't gotten my hands on the OtterBox Symmetry cases for the iPhone 13 series yet, but based on my experience with the iPhone 12 series Symmetry and what I know about the case in general, I think the Symmetry for the iPhone 13 is probably quite a good case. As far as protection is concerned, it is rated for 3x military standard drop protection...so, 3 times as many drops as required at the military standard height of 4 ft. Normally, 26 drops at various angles are required, so OtterBox is claiming that their Symmetry cases are designed to survive 78 four foot drops. So that is pretty impressive. The Speck Perfect-Clear is rated for a 13 ft drop...which is definitely higher than a 4 ft drop, but Speck doesn't say how many 13 ft drops its cases are supposed to survive. So we just have a very different way of measuring the protectiveness of these cases. Personally, I think they should both provide very good protection for your iPhone 13. However, one advantage that the Perfect-Clear has that the clear Symmetry does not is Speck's Perfect-Clear guarantee: if the Perfect-Clear case turns yellow, Speck will replace it for free (assuming that you purchased it either from Speck or an authorized retailer). OtterBox doesn't have a similar guarantee, so if your clear Symmetry case turns yellow, you are just going to be out of luck. Hope this helps!!
Hi Paulo! So sorry to hear of that issue with your Perfect-Clear. I haven’t had the opportunity to check out the 13 Pro Max version of that case yet. Is the mute switch operation affected?
Hi, do you know if the 13 pro Max grip will fit the 12 pro max, I currently have the grip for my 12 pro max but would love to get this one for the MagSafe?
I don't think iPhone 13 Pro Max cases are going to fit the 12 Pro Max very well...the phone thickness is slightly different, as well as the camera dimensions. I would stick with 12 Pro Max cases for the 12 Pro Max...
I think it will but not perfect, if you are a picky one when it comes to cases ( for me, has to be tight fit, no moving sides) then you will not satisfy when using 12 pro max for this case. Now, when I purchase the 13 pro max, I also got an Apple silicone case. I tried it on my 12 pro max and it fit like it should on 13 pro max. However, the camera is smaller ( this can case dust and stuff get in between case and phone) and the buttons are not where is meant to be. You have to when looking for the buttons as they are slightly moved down on 13 pro max. If these don't bother you, yes, this case will likely fit your 12 pro max. If not, you can return it :3
Hi Conner! Well, this is covered by Speck's Perfect-Clear guarantee. They guarantee no yellowing for the life of the device...but you have to purchase it from Speck or an authorized retailer to qualify. They don't really say that it is yellowing-free...just that they will cover it under warranty if it yellows, and you have bought it from an authorized retailer. So, I really don't know. Yellowing is caused by many factors: UV exposure, skin oils, etc. I strongly doubt that it will never, ever turn yellow, but I suspect that Speck has designed the material so that it is as yellowing-resistant as possible. Otherwise, they would have too many warranty claims to handle. Hope this helps!
The grip case with a matte back is slipping off my hand, kind of disappointed. my previous case with a plastic glass back was like a glue to my hand. Ill try to return/exchange it today with the clear one
Grip is a funny thing...it's very personal. I think it has a lot to do with how sweaty or dry your hands tend to be. You may prefer the Perfect-Clear with Grips. It has the same sort of hard (not rubbery) grips as the matte finished Presidio2 Grip, but the material of the case is a glossy plastic, which might work better for you than a matte finish plastic. Good luck!!
Greetings i have seen several of your videos but i have not seen a review of the GHOSTEK covers , since i am in doubt of acquiring this one from Speck or the one i mentioned before, thanks
In comparison to the Gear4 cases you were asking about, I think the Speck Perfect Clear is probably going to do better against yellowing, although scratches will always be an issue with this kind of material. And if you buy the Perfect Clear from Speck or an authorized Speck retailer, then if any yellowing occurs, it will be covered under Speck's guarantee.
Hi Chad! I think that is going to vary a lot, depending on the screen protector. Not all edge to edge screen protectors fit the same. You might want to check with Speck and see if they have any recommendations...
Sorry, I can't really tell you. As a case reviewer, I switch cases very often, so I don't have long term use data. The case is guaranteed not to yellow, assuming you get it from Speck or an authorized retailer, so if it does turn yellow, you should be able to get a replacement...
Amazing review as always👍🙌 have you seen that video about ultraglass screen protector omg that screen protector looks amazing 🙌🙌🙌 I’m trying to get one but it’s out of stock and I don’t know if they ship here in U.K.
@@TheTechReviewer currently unavailable 😞 super fancy method tbh, according to them and from what I watched you can install them even with your eyes closed. No other screen protector have done this, so eager to get my hands of that screen protector. Thanks for the reply 👍🙏
@@TheTechReviewer Hey that was a quick reply. I'm impressed! Okay you may be right. I'd just purchased a Apple iphone 13 pro few days ago. Color is a Sierra Blue. It's the only color that appeals to me but not my favorite but it's okay. I guess. Getting an clear case with mag safe is my main choice. Not that I will be using mag safe on regular basis. But more of a aesthetic appearance look to it. I know it sounds crazy. But the white tone circular mag safe blends very well with the blue. I'll end up at least 95% of the time using wire connection. Due to the fact it causes less heat stress to the battery. I have also talk with Apple tech insiders that's their preference as well. I'm still in the market for the idea clear case mag safe and either a hydrogel screen protector vs tempered glass. It's a sweet spot range I'm looking for. As far as the phone goes. I'm a happy camper. Though I have to start over again as far as navigating its outstanding features. It may take some time to really know this phone as far as optimizing it. Knowing the basic features is simple enough. But to master its functions is another story. Lastly I just love how the Apple iphones look in comparison to others out there. Very appealing to my eyes. Period!
So happy you are enjoying your new iPhone! The Sierra Blue is a lovely color...I think I liked last year's Pacific Blue slightly more, but both are good. Finding a phone case that is made in the USA is really difficult. None of the phone cases I have reviewed recently are USA made. Almost all are made in China...RhinoShield is made in Taiwan, so it is an outlier! One case that is made in the USA, which I haven't reviewed, but which I have heard of, is the Raptic Terrain: rapticstrong.com/collections/iphone-13-pro-cases/products/iphone-13-pro-case-terrain?variant=39476872544322 Good luck, and enjoy your new iPhone!
A good FYI if your speck case yellows u can actually use glass cleaner and it will return right back to the same clear color
I haven’t tried that, Jai! Thanks for sharing!
Speck do some great cases 👌🏼. I’m actually amazed that they are still around - I remember buying Speck cases for my iPhone 4!!!
Hi Dean! Yeah, Speck knows their stuff! I still wish the Perfect-Clear was less slippery, but that’s my only complaint. Great clear case. And the presidio2 grip is fantastic as long as you aren’t expecting the Candyshell Grip rubbery grip lines…
I came just to see if the buttons were improved! Glad you mentioned it. I’m going to buy one now. Last year they were really tough to press
Hi Joshua! Yeah, there is a big improvement in the buttons this year!! I was really happy to see that. Hope you like it!
This is a very well made review video. Thank you for posting this!
Thanks so much, Terry! Really appreciate your kind comments!!
I was wondering if you think the Speck presidio perfect clear or the Otterbox Symmetry would be more protective

@@TheTechReviewer To follow this, what about the Presidio2 Grip vs the Symmetry+?
I think the protection of this pair is going to be pretty similar to the pair previously discussed. More grip with the Presidio2 Grip, though!
I watch your videos because i feel asmr while watching…
Happy to help!😂
I got the Perfect clear for my iPhone 13 pro max, but the ring silent bottom isn’t well aligned.
Great review !
Hi Paulo! So sorry to hear of that issue with your Perfect-Clear. I haven’t had the opportunity to check out the 13 Pro Max version of that case yet. Is the mute switch operation affected?
@@TheTechReviewer no, it is not affected.
Which clear case would you recommend ?
Thanks !
Hmm...have you looked at CASETiFY cases, Paulo?
@@TheTechReviewer I didn’t. I got a Torras Crystal Clear. 😊
How is it, Paulo?
Hmm, deciding between the Presidio Perfect Clear and Caudabe’s Lucid Clear…
Hi @Shaikh Harith! Good luck!! I don't have any experience with the Lucid Clear, but the Perfect-Clear is quite impressive!!
I wish they made a white case, it would look great.
I hear you! Speck has made white cases in the past, but not this year. So sorry!!

Hi Kelvin! Depends upon the model and brand. I’m sure they will work with some, but I haven’t tried it out with any…
