    I have 3 maltipoos.. there’s no excuse!! There was a time when I couldn’t afford all 3 to be groomed ( very expensive & I’m a widow) So I got shears & learned to groom them myself by watching videos. Not perfect but at least healthy & comfortable. Dogs deserve better !

      @@jessicajones119 Matts are extemely painful. It can be as bad as a dog not being bathed or starved depending on how bad the matting is.

      Not all dogs are very calm and will allow you to dematt. It may take months of training to desensitize them and the owner may not have that kind of time

    • @thrivingexjw2061
      @thrivingexjw2061 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Bella Clark - If the owner doesn’t have “that kind of time”, then shouldn’t have gotten a dog that needs brushed every day! A dog that matted, is very painful.. some Matt’s can even cause bleeding and skin sores.

    I love the way Didi talks about starting over and this is a learning experience for the owners. It's soo true. I learned this myself. Didis advise it GOLD. This dog probably wouldn't let the owners brush because the mats were too painful.

    • @doodabodker1770
      @doodabodker1770 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Solitaire Smith the Matt's are only like that because I will put it on my life they bathe him at home thinking they are helping by keeping him clean when in reality all it does when you bathe at home with out any knowledge about grooming is makes things worse. Water will cause a long hair dog to Matt if they are not brushed and completely dry. Than they bathe them again only making the matts even worse. Also this dog is very clean, I mean look its a white dog and his feet aren't black its no doubt that is why he is so matted. People don't realize how bad water is for long hair breeds. I do have to say though I would have atleast tried to leave some hair on his tail Some of that tail was salvageable. Why does Dede have Matt splitters when she never brushes MATTS out on anything that's what confuses me. I mean you are probably charging these people a ridiculous Matt fee and yet you shaved everything. Yes shaving a matted dog dulls your blades but he was clean. Even if you would have tried to leave alittle schnauzer head I mean pick up a brush and brush a frickin Matt out already. Hold his face while you are trimming it b4 u take an eye out

    • @solitairesmith3553
      @solitairesmith3553 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@doodabodker1770 possible that is true. I used to have a chow. I learned to brush and check with comb. But Didi videos explain soo well importance of brushing and then checking with the comb. Im glad she shows this in her videos:)

    • @doodabodker1770
      @doodabodker1770 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@solitairesmith3553 yes checking with a comb you should always do but Dede checks with a comb b4 they are even clean. Yes you brush a dog b4 a bath but a dirty dog isn't always easy to put a comb through even if it is not matted. Not to mention I have yet to see Dede brush a matted dog out without cutting chunks off here and there. Everyone grooms different obviously but I would attempt to brush a dog b4 I just look at the PP and say it all needs to be shaved. How is the dog ever gonna learn how to get used to brushing and everything when all she does is shave them. If everyone thinks it's the PP who need to train thier pet to do what us as groomers need to do , well I disagree. This is why, PP are not the professional groomer they do not know what us as groomers need their pets to do. Like for example holding onto their face when trimming it so you don't take an eye out is something they should get used to or holding there feet in the right spot so you have control of their foot so you won't cut them. Things like that PP dont have the grooming knowledge about and why should they, they are not groomers, if that's the case just groom your own dog and save the money. Brushing isn't as easy as everyone seams to think it's a skill of its own not to mention splitting a dogs ear leather or brush burning them, that's something the majority of PP don't even know what it is let alone how to prevent it.

    ABSOLUTELY AMAZING GROOMER!!! ITS WONDERFUL TO SEE A GROOMER REALLY CARE AND DO THEIR BEST AND DEDE IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST GROOMER IVE EVER SEEN PERSONALLY OR BY VIDEO. I HAVE A BLUE GREAT DANG THAT STANDS 6'5" 3 YRS OLD NAMED JEWEL. SHE'S A BEAUTY AND A SHEITZU THATS OF THE BREEDS NORMAL SIZE I GUESS..HE'S SMALL 16 YRS OLD DEAF AND BLIND. THEY BOTH ARE HOUSE DOGS AND I KEEP THEM GROOMED,LOVED AND TAKEN CARE OF. SO I BEEN THROUGH A FEW GROOMERS. WATCHED MANY DOG GROOMER TH-camRS AND IVE WATCHED AT LEAST 40 TO 50 OF DEDE'S GROOMS AND IM JUST BLOWN AWAY BY HER TECHNIQUES, QUICKNESS, AND HANDS ON APPROACH, BLUNTNESS, AND SO MUCH MORE BUT THE ONE THING THAT STANDS OUT MOST IS HER UNDENIABLE LOVE FOR PETS AND JOB!!! SHE'S A VERY SERIOUS GROOMER BUT I LOVE ❤HOW SHE BABY TALKS AND GIVES CLOSE AIR KISSES TO THE LITTLES THAT ARE AFRAID (gaining trust and teaching them) BUT YET HER DEEP AUTHORITATIVE VOICE😬🤨 COMES OUT WHEN SHE GETS THOSE AGGRESSIVE BIGGER DOGS AND EVEN SOME LITTLES SHE HAS TO USE THAT VOICE. BUT ALL OF HER COMMANDS ARE THE SAME. AS FAR AS I CAN SEE...NO MATTER BIG OR LITTLE HER TECHNIQUE REMAINS THE SAME. WE APPRECIATE YOU FOR SHARING ALL OF YOUR HARD EARNED, YEARS AND YEARS OF DEDICATION AND GROOMING TECHNIQUES...AND YOUR LOVE FOR THEM ALL, WITH US HERE IN TENNESSEE!!! WE SHOULD TELL DEDE WHERE WE ARE FROM SO SHE KNOWS HOW FAR HER VIDEOS REACH.🌏🌍🌎 THANKS AGAIN AND PLEASE KEEP SHARING YOUR VIDEO'S DEDE!!!👍🐾 EVERYBODY SHARE, DONATE, BUY FROM HER STORE AND SHOW HER SOME LOVE LIKE SHE DOES THESE PETS 🐕🐩🐈 THAT NO OWNER OR GROOMER WILL EVEN TRY TO MATCH WHEN IT COMES TO GROOMING! IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER AGGRESSIVE DOG GROOMERS OUT THERE..🤷🏻‍♀️.LET US SEE YOUR WORK😀

    I think ya need to be a little more professional in how much you degrade the owners. Yes defintely let them know it's not ok, but constantly berating them every few minutes while their sitting right behind that thin curtain listening (and watching the video later) is a bit much. I've seen you do this on several videos. I'm a vet, and I see real animal abuse constantly. I understand the anger we feel when seeing an animal uncomfortable, but making the owner feel that their not good owners can actually provoke an abandonment, and then real problems can arise for animal. So let them know that it's not ok, but do it in a nice way...not to mention the pets can feel that negativity and anger radiating off you ;)

      There's absolutely no excuse to let a dog get to this degree. That dog was in severe pain, matting is painful, it pulls their skin! This was disgraceful to let this poor animal get to this condition! A Maltese/Maltiepoo needs to be brushed every single day, this was certainly not done here because these mats would have been discovered! My heart ached for that little dog.

    You would think by now, the manufactures of clippers for pets, would of came up with a silent one that doesn't even vibrate, because almost always that is what scares the animal the most on the grooming table, it's not the grooming itself that scares them, or stresses them out, it's the sound of those loud ass clippers (even human versions are much louder than they really need to be) and that vibration is no fun especially on and around very sensitive areas like the ears. I know with dogs at least their hearing is way more sensitive than ours, for an example when you take your dog outside to go potty and it's raining, and he/she stops on the covered porch or right in the door way and does not budge, you think "she just doesn't like to get rained on" , when that is actually inaccurate (granted some just hate being wet), it is due to their ears being so overly sensitive that the rain drop sounds are extremely loud to them and it's actually bothering them, so that is why they are hesitant to go out into the rain, and I am sure clippers have the same effect

    Does the ear hair grow in the ear or is it just external hair that migrates into the ear?

    I noticed she was shaking the moment you finished shaving her back. Out of curiosity, was that because it was cold for her, she was scared of the situation, or because she was getting on in years and standing for senior dogs can be too much for them?

    You did such a great job with this little girl. And she did so well too. People think it’s cute to have their dog all floofy but it’s only cute on the outside. The mats really do hurt. I have a long-haired cat with two under coats and he has no mats because I go through at least once a day. Use a fine comb really helps because if the comb can’t go through, you have work to do.

    She looks like a different dog after getting all those mats off her. She really behaved pretty good. You did a good job.

    You remind of Rachel from the Senza Tempo Cane Corso channel, Your voice kinda sounds like hers and you are very straight forward just as she. You guys are awesome.

    You should teach classes you would have standing room only. Place would be crammed with parent pet students
