Loved watching you work. I have a very nervous maltese & watching this gives me a push to groom him. I graduated from a grooming school but never went into doing it full time. I think I'm too afraid of hurting the dog as I did do that once in school. Never got over it really.
Amazing job and your so careful with the dogs. I also liked the way you checked the blades of the clippers to see if they were getting hot, a lot don't know to do this. Your awsome.
Brush, brush, brush people! I personally wouldn't even bother with a top knot if they won't brush puppy. I have a 5 1/2 month old Maltipoo that I brush at least once a week even on a busy schedule. It makes it so much better for the dog and the groomer. I've never understood why people want to get long haired dogs and never brush them. Lovely job on such a sweetie!
Maybe your dog isn't old enough, but you should brush and/or comb daily.
I was about to comment the same thing. I honestly thought this was a stray dog until the top knot part and it sickens me that the poor dog got to that point while having an owner. Why have a dog if youre not going to put in the work?

I think you have the most gentle touch have seen on many of the videos I see. I have a Maltese that is 6 mo old. I ry to brush her every day but cannot get her to stay so I can cut the hair around her face and eyes.I also can not get her to let me clean her tear stains. It is frustrating but I will keep on trying. I love the cut that you did on your dog.

What kind of clippers do you use for the dogs have dogs that their hair gets knotted easy and hard to cut after bath's are they exspense.
Did all the matting come off with the 7F? Or did some areas you need to use the #10 on this dog? :)
I am a new groomer, when I have to do a matted #7 shave I usually find that the matts on the legs can sometimes need a #10! O:
thats depends from tangle, I always try to groom whole dog 7FC when he is matted, but sometimes I need a 10 blade too

Would a straight 7 blade get under the mats easier.
If you’re talking about just 7 without the F next to it, that is a skipped tooth blade which can be more dangerous because folds of skin can get caught in it easier. A 7F is the same length and a little bit safer. Typically groomers use a 10 on the private areas for less risk of cutting the dog. I know your comment is a year old but maybe you would benefit from this info.

I wish you didn’t add music back ground to it. It’s nice to hear the clipper sound. Or turn the music background low and keep the clipper sound with it.
What brand and model is your clippers? They seem to cut a whole lot easier than ours.

Hii, whenever I am doing a 7fc on a matted dog, I use a blade 7 to get rid of the mats so I don't damage te 7fc. When the mat is gone I retouch it with the 7fc to get it all nice and beautifully even :D thanks for your videos

I’m new at this....So what’s the difference between a 7 & a 7FC? 🤔 I also have a Maltese.
7 fc is blade to finish cut, after 7 you have to be very carefull and finish job by scissors, its good blade to matted dog

Dommage la tête est bien faite mais le corps a trop été rasé. Ce n'est pas la coupe d'un Bichon Maltais mais plutôt d'un Bichon Frisé ou d'un Caniche.
Le Maltais doit garder une certaine longueur de poils sur le corps au regard de son poil doux et soyeux.

the dog must have had a bath first, which would have created the matting more tight. the safer way would of shaved it first with a 10 blade , never with a straight 7 Blade very sharp and dangerous play to use on matted dogs
I dont agree with you, bath first when dog is so matted is no making sens. I prefer 7 blade than 10 - maltese will be look like rat after 10 blade.
Also she did shave the dog before the bath.
Was a complete shave down really necessary, surely you could have tried to remove the mats, seems a bit extreme. Saying that though the little dog does look amazing after your grooming.

Unless you're a dog groomer don't comment silly things like that. You can't brush out matts.
The blade she is using is only leaving less than 1/4 inch of hair and she is still getting stuck with it. Any tools you could use to dematt this dog would also be hitting skin because the matting is so tight. I think it was necessary. It’s borderline torture to dematt dogs in this condition not worth the time and pain required to do it. The poor dog hates you by the end of it and most of the time comes out so choppy/frizzy the owners aren’t happy either. Lose-lose situation.

That's not very matted. With very matted dogs you cannot go with 7 blade
For me its very matted dog. Sometimes I have to use 10 blade when dog is extreme matted
