Setting everything up assembly line style is the best thing I did... when your selling a lot of bouquets like at a farmers market, it's so helpful to look at how many of each ingredient you have! I need to get better at counting in the field, instead of trying to count later when making the bouquets also! I want to get faster at making my bouquets, but at the same time, since growing cut flowers as a business, has taken the FUN out of EVERYTHING, slowing down, & getting creative with each bouquet, making each one a little different, with a little different color scheme, while drinking coffee or listening to music, is like the LAST little bit of the business that is still enjoyable... lol
Beautiful bouquets 💐…… suggestion maybe….. build a table on wheels that can nest under your stationary assembly table. Pull it out and put your buckets on it behind you so you are not bending over so much. 🌸 🌺 🌹 😊
I drive by your farm every morning and I've had the luxury to watch you transform your farm from beginning to now. I have admired your beautiful flower farm from a far. You have such a gift of bringing beauty to a space! I'm so glad to have found your yt channel! Sending you and your family many blessings and well wishes 💞
I cut my last sunflowers 2 weeks ago. Usually by this time, we are close to pur first frost day but this year we are still at 70° during the day and about 50° at night. Maybe next year I'll take a chance and do another succession. I just love the colors of your bouquets. ❤
You are crushing it this year!! May I suggest using handheld counters? Field scientists use metal ones, but you can get inexpensive ones for knitting, too. Wear it around your neck or clip it to your pocket! You can count without thinking!
I love what you are doing!! This was so helpful as I never really thought about the counting aspect, which totally make sense. You are pushing me to go bigger next year. We started flower farming last year mainly as a hobby to give to people in our church but I just had an itch to grow! This year I tripled from last year but still aren’t where you are. We don’t have that space but I really want to do better and use my space more efficiently. I think my biggest mistake has been holding back on the amount of seeds so I’ve tripled my purchase of seeds for next year for the spring and haven’t even hit the warm season annuals. I do markets for most of the season and that’s helped me get the word out BUT I would totally prefer to do what you are doing with a stand on the farm. Here’s to keep being inspired but what the Lord is doing on your farm.
That is so awesome! Great job! While we work really hard and try to do so smartly, it is always the Lord who causes the growth and we are so thankful for that
They are so beautiful but how do you find that many people a week that need bouquets? I’m on a main road & I’d have to replace a florist to fill that many orders! I just don’t know how you do it.
Not a silly question at all! So we did a sunflower field in august talking about the two different ways you can grow them. I’ve done both. Next year i will only be direct sowing, no fabric ☺️
You said you used your spare fridge for overflow- so do you keep that flower shed that you make the bouquets in at a temperature that's conducive for storing flowers so that they hold, & don't open up, etc.? If so, or even if not, lol, what temperature donyou keep it at? I recently bought a shed that were turning into a flower/veg stand, & I'm also hoping to use it to hold flowers, (maybe with a diy coolbot) but I'm worried about the cost of CONSTANTLY running an a/c unit. It's a small shed- only 10-13 bit still...
Hahe you had an issue with some of your zinnias having a really short vade like this uear? Ive been doing this for 3 years, & never have had third issue- but i keep having my zinnias start to turn withing 3-4 days, some even the NEXT DAY! Im harvesting at tue correct stage, using cvbn tavlets, etc. Idk what is going on?!? Some colors are fine, & some arent.. ?

❤ hi eric!
I’m new to your channel and I just love itYou really explain what you are doing so we’ll. Can you tell me where you get your buckets please.
Thank you! We get them at our local feed store but a tractor supply may have
@@CoramDeoFarm Thanks!

I don’t really think it comes down to the traffic on a road but rather the marketing and branding for the flower farm itself
@@CoramDeoFarm ok I see. Thanks for the reply!
Beautiful! I love this fall bouquet. Which variety of celosia are you using?
There is a mix of Celway and pampas plume in there
Happy I found your channel! Congrats on your success and thanks for the inspiration. What kind of celosia is that?
Thanks Kelley! It is a combo of Celway and Pampas Plume in the bouquets.
Silly question alert:
Is landscape fabric needed with sunflowers or are they close enough together to block the sun and keep weeds from growing?

No our cottage is at 78 degrees where I store and make the bouquets. Our fridges are used just for sunflower storage in the summer
Thanks for another helpful video. Where do you tend to purchase bulk sunflower seeds?
Sunflower Selections

Lisa Mason Ziegler did an episode on “zinnia meltdown” recently. Worth the listen
