Connecting the Ronin S to Canon 90d

- The Canon 90D is now compatible with the DJI Ronin S for follow focus and starting and stopping recording. Tim runs through connecting the camera to the gimbal with the MCC-B micro USB cable. Unfortunately, DJI doesn't provide all the information you need in one place, so I've pieced it all together from the Ronin S manual, the compatibility list (June 2020), a DJI 'How to' video and other TH-cam videos for other camera systems. Hope it helps!

I tested the gimbal with the Canon 24-105mm f4 IS II which is on the compatibility list. I then found that the Canon 10-18mm f4.5-5.6 IS STM and Canon 18-135mm 3.5-5.6 IS STM lenses also worked, even though they aren't on the list.
Unfortunately, when shooting this video, the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8, Canon 35mm f2 and Canon 50mm f1.8 lenses wouldn't work with the follow focus wheel. But you can still use them and the start / stop function on the Ronin S still works.
Most of the video was shot on a Canon 750D (Rebel T6i) with a Sigma 18-35mm f1.8, as I was using the 90d for demonstration purposes.
Please feel free to comment with your experiences, feedback or questions.
Thanks!

So you need a focus wheel yo record
Hello Sir.
Loved your tutorial. But question... All plugged up and still no camera setting on app. 😢 any troubleshooting ideas?
Will it work with Canon t3i? Works like a charm with Zhiyun Crane 2
So, I got it all set up as followed. Record button on the gimbal works. But the focus wheel doesn't. I'm using the 18-55 kit lens and the DJI site says the lens is compatible. Software is all up to date. Any ideas? I just tried it with my 50 MM lens and it works good. And that lens was not on the compatible list
So the EOS R5C is still a no go? bummer. I was even going to look at the new gimbal but that is a no go too from the forums.
I am using a Rokinon manual lens. When I connect the MCC B cable and turn on the camera, none of the buttons on the ronin or the camera work. The display shows busy. I just want to use the record button. Does anyone know what is going on?
There is no such cable included with the RONIN MMC and I think you said you need 2 cables? I bought my camera and the ROnin S in 2022 so I wonder if there were changes and it only needs 1 cable. It came with a USBC to USBC which says it is for SOny. Then a USBC to Mini USB is what I use, but cannot control anything on the camera. There is really no good information on this combination other than what you have out, but even that is years old. Strange
Hey, have you been able to connect the gimbal to your canon eos 750d?
very helpful! thank you!
Much appreciated

You are rushing through with
Mine did not come with this cable for the 90-D and DJI has no clue of what i am talking about after one hour in chat mode with DJI
Hi Tim, Is the focus wheel an "add-on" ? Also, the lenses in the "approved list are $2000 (cnd) , the EFS 10-18mm is a lot cheaper, how was the vid quality with the 10-18 ?? thx !!
Thanks a lot! You hit a topic I couldn't figure out !!! :)

Great video. Can you share instructions for connecting 90D with RS2? Thanks in advance.
Hey! Do you know if the standard Canon 90D kit lens (18-55mm) works with the focus wheel?
