Like the way screens are integrated, BUT - nothing can beat a normal, simple button! You feel it so you do not have to look at it, and it needs no cloth for wiping the fingerprints! Perfect interior looks like in Pagani cars.

I agree. the D4 A8 had one of the best user interface of ANY car. it had a sensible layout and the crucial tactility which allowed the eyes to be on the road. the new one is just a touchscreen from some korean OEM much like any other car these days. this is a cunning cost cutting measure manufacturers are taking these days because they know the general public is too stupid to recognize actual quality and usability when they see it. instead they gravitate towards anything that is considered 'cool, and trendy' even if it's more expensive and less reliable.
Touch screen is nothing new. I think it’s cost cutting if you think about it. But if you don’t feel like using the voice stuff and change settings manually, you’ll find yourself taking your eyes off the road longer.

Just subscribed. I like how honest and unbiased your review was. You didn't cut out the parts that failed, like the voice command, and when the rear touch screen took a while to boot up. I hate that they replaced the knobs with touch screens. Normally, after getting used to the car, you know exactly where everything is, and sometimes don't have take your eyes off the road once. Also don't like that you cant toggle Active Dynamic Steering.
I really love that side collision protection feature. Both window and driver's headrest roll upward for maximum protection. Those small details are amazing. Thumbs up for Audi
I want to think this generation of Audi inspired technology for all current luxury cars and coming to the S Class I just dont understand why everybody is making all the noise about the autonomous parking feature. I not hating but I am just appreciating that Audi was so ahead. Perhaps that is why all the new RS cars are being left behind in all our drag races. LOL!
In a new Volvo, you can even say "I'm freezing" and it will raise the temperature one degree C. If you say "I'm sweating" and it will lover with one degree. "Sync temperature", will synchronize all temperature zones. "Set temperature to 22 degrees", "Rain seat heater" and so on. And it works really well!
The voice recognition seems to be less sophisticated than the BMW Personal Assistant. Heck it doesn't respond to voice commands as well as the Geely/Proton units.
To be honest, that parking system is available on your average E-Class. It's like with all the other tech in this car, the BMW and Merc are already able to do it. Except the Autonomous Driving on a highway, but if you're getting your car now, you'll not be able to use it in any country yet (and that is not due to legal reasons).
The exhaust pipes i don't think are fake , it's just the rear bumper looks. You can see they are behind. Although i hate that you don't get to see the classic exhausts as you used to.
I believe Audi just put Mercedes S class to shame , i'm not saying the S class is a bad or an unworthy car, but the 2018 A8 is simply much better and much convenient to spend your money on it than on the Merc 2018
Totally agree about the touchscreen problems. Not having an iDrive like control wheel is a big mistake. Will make you take your eyes off the road for far too long.

Why car manufacturers wont use already existing voice recognition? I mean most of the cars with this feature that I saw and tried they all sucked due to accents, but for example google voice recognition, cortana, siri work great. I think the best idea would be to team up with one of them companies and use their voice recognition. Would make the experience 100% better

Looks like the US version's rear center console can be raised out of the way if necessary. The only con is that the screen is flat instead of this sloped design.
