How Bournemouth Pulled Off One Of The Greatest Comebacks Ever

- Bournemouth 4-3 Luton. A game that will go down in Premier League history... or rather, it would, if anybody had been able to watch it. The mysteries of TV scheduling denied the nation the chance to see one of the game's greatest games but, by a total stroke of luck, FourFourTwo's Adam Clery was there to see it.
Goals from Dominic Solanke, Illia Zabarnyi, and a brace from Antoine Semenyo made history, but how did Andoni Iraola turn the tide?

Massive shout out for not only getting to the Vitality but also getting my father-in-law into your video!!
Next time you're down, seat M23 by the press has a half-time flapjack for you.
Deal!
Bournemouth fan here. Iraola is often a master at halftime changes both with substitutions and tactical tweeks, which suggests that he doesn't always get it right at the start of a match. Also, when he decides to 'go for it' it is total commitment. For example, last Saturday v Sheffield Utd the outfield players that ended the match were; 2 centre backs, 1 defensive midfielder, 2 attacking midfielders, 3 wingers and 2 strikers. It is rarely dull!
He's like me on football manager for real
Thanks for covering the mighty Cherries on your channel. A really interesting insight into my team. The media don’t really care about us anymore, now that our ‘story’ is old news. We get less press that Palace!
I’m so proud of my club for showing the class and character to come back from 3-0 down 🍒🍒 we are all but safe pretty much but naturally as a cherries fan I’m still always looking over my shoulder 😅
This channel is the best find I’ve made all year! Great video again
🤝🏻
I didn’t have to leave early to catch a train so was there to celebrate our greatest of all comebacks. Brilliant analysis of what I’ve been watching this season. So simple when explained but so difficult for the team to get right. Hats off to Andoni for his in-game tactical changes.
Excellent analysis from someone (me!) who was at the game and had no idea how Bournemouth turned it around. Thank you!
I live in America so I was blessed enough to get to watch this game 🙏
Wow what a game and what a video. I knew Bournemouth were a good side but looking at it through that lense is interesting. Continue with the great work your putting out Adam
Thank you man 🤝
@@FourFourTwo your welcome you deserve it. Honestly one of the interesting channels regarding football. Doing a fabulous job
how the stars have aligned! Best comeback in 20 years of EPL and no one was able to watch it live🤣🤣
It was carried live here in the U,S
Great video! Love tactical breakdowns of teams outside the big 6 / top 6 :)
Absolutely love your videos Adam, only been watching them for a couple of months but it has added so much to my understanding and enjoyment of the game. Thank you.
Love this video, thank you!
Good job, more Bournemouth vids please
Brilliant content thanks for showing how cherries have adapted under Iraola it’s taken a few months after pre season for us to show the full force of Iraola ball but I wouldn’t change it for the world
This was really great Adam. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great, well-informed, breakdown. Refreshing to hear something reported that has seen a Bournemouth game.
Brilliantly presented. I was there ... Best I've seen them play. Well 2nd half that is!
Excellent, interesting stats too. Many thanks.
Lovely to see the mighty cherries get a bit of coverage… Iraola has been a welcomed breath of fresh air and is great at a tactical turnaround… hopefully u’ll get to watch us again this season 🍒
I was at the match and missed a lot of this live! Great insight
Really enjoyed this as a Bournemouth fan. Great video!
Thanks man!
Really excellent breakdown
Great show and thank you from a novice fan.
This is a brilliant dissection of the match tactics
Al from Brisbane as a cherries 🍒 fan thanks for your input it's the best football they've played in a while
Hiya. You need to come down more often. Nice to see a different view from the national press. It can be very biest towards bigger clubs in this league. Thanks!🍒
Wait really?! It wasn't televised?! I watched the game from the Netherlands and I feel so sorry for all who didn't get to watch it.
The cost of getting as rich as the Prem clubs... A lot less common sense
Yep watched here in Australia. Knew it would be a good game.
I watched the game on my laptop & somehow seeing Rob Edward nervous face after HT, now I know why. Luton plague by injury is one of reason they lost. I hope Luton stay at EPL, the game needs Luton to entertained the crowd.
That's why Bill Foley replaced Gary O'Neil with Adoni.
Wanted entertaining attacking football, it took a while for the players to get to grips with the various tactical patterns Ireola uses but it's a great watch now.
Watching from Zambia in Southern Africa. We have all 380 premier league games broadcast live 😅 just saying. U got it spot on.
This dude definitely knows what he's talking about
i loved it because i have a mate who supports lutopn at the game and he was thrilled at half time. not so much at the end
Aint a bournemouth fan but not happy u called alex scott "smith"
5 hours on trains after a full work day and then about 5 hours sleep before you're back in will do that to you 😅 just amazed I didn't get anyone else wrong
Amazing comeback.... COYS
Brilliant analysis from someone who actually watched the game, unlike MOTD 💩. Goals on Sunday used to be good in the Kammy days, but MOTD is a joke for smaller clubs! I remember ordering the first ten editions of 4-4-2 magazine when it came out. I might have to start buying it again. Bournemouth fans love AI as you could probably tell, we didn’t even have a song for Gary O’Neil.
Half an hour on Sky last night. I knew the score but presumed someone was sent off for Luton. The two substitutes Bournemouth did was a key. Luton hit Bournemouth on the break 3 times but that double substitution was the difference.
Love a bit of afcb coverage
stopped the video to watch the highlights so i could understand it better!
at 1:20 number 14 is labelled as Smith when it should be Scott - entertainingly this happens as the words "got it completely wrong" are spoken... Great analysis though!
I think they should sign Lewis Ferguson, I feel like he ticks every box for them, pressing, long passing, can do a job in 10 and 8 which i feel is crucial for Bournemouth under Iraola
smith is getting into a pretty advanced role there 😅
Great night especially under the floodlights 🍒 lifelong season ticket holder
Ryan Christie is sooooo good.
Stick this in your algorithm...
The game couldn’t be televised as it was a rearranged 3pm Saturday KO.
Bournemouth go under the radar they are quality
i really hope the 'data nerds' at Forest watch this video...
possibly an outrageous ask considering you pretty much exclusively do prem sides, but would you consider taking a look at ipswich town and what they're doing in the championship? (or just wait till next season after they're promoted)
We 100% will be doing vids on the Championship sides near the end of the season.
On that particular night I got distracted by champs league but certain “style matches”like this always peak my interest(gotta say Luton have to be the most unluckiest club in the prem & I hope they can survive the drop but if they go down I’ll keep a close eye on their fixtures!)
Yeah I'm the same, really enjoyed every game I've seen them in this season.
Not so much unlucky as that they struggle to defend - scoring 4 goals away to Newcastle and 3 away to Bournemouth and don't win either game. But they came up via the playoffs with limited resources, so Rob Edwards has done a fantastic job and given them a chance of surviving as they score a good number of goals. A breath of fresh air.
I was slagging off Bournemouth because of my fantasy football then was elated when they won. Typical Barclays moment
Whether they get promotion or not, someone cover Ipswich please.
There's one in the works 👀
@@FourFourTwo Cannot wait
Great vid but it’s Scott. 14
Sometimes when you eat a bowl of cherries they will go straight through you. 🍒 😂😂UTCIAD.✊🏻
Best come back Man City at Whiteheart Lane 3 nil down at half time Joey Barton gets sent off. City win 4 3
you don't need the analysis, Lutons defensive line was shit, we fucked about at the back and our injury's were costing us. Also, Hashioka is unbelievably shite
No he isn’t. He was beaten by Semenyo, and that’s it. Call yourself a fan?
Or the video was right. Which is it? Genuine Q. I'd love to hear Iraola's analysis of this analysis
Tbh Wednesday night I don’t think any defenders turned up for either side 😅 god I love our new manager and how attacking we are! That’s 57 shots in two games now 😂 under Scott Parker or Gary O’Neil that would be the total for the season!
@@RamboMT1well said. I can’t stand these fucking idiots - TH-cam and Reddit are full of them.
Easy. Luton scored three goals and Bournemouth scored four.
Cook does not rhyme with Luke.
You beat a depleted team by the skin of your teeth, hardly a stirling result. Let's see how you go when you play better equipped teams.
We beat Man Utd 3-0 at old Trafford. We like Luton as well, 2 very similar clubs who are up against it and don’t get any favours like the big boys.
@@Allen-bz8xm Was going to say "like Man U" but you got there first :)
Luton have alot of heart it was always going to be hard, also Bournemouth have beaten every so called better equipped team in the league apart from man city and lost 1.0 to them last time we played in a very close game.
