  • Aaron Marshall from Intervals breaks down the main riff to Lock & Key from the album Circadian.
There was a translator during the live stream so I tried to edit it down with only the breakdown and explanation. This was just edited to have it flow more naturally.

If Aaron was my music teacher in middle school I’m 10000% sure I would’ve found music earlier in life

He’s awesome. Just seeing him evolve as a musician and songwriter in the past 10 years has been incredible. And also makes a great teacher.

2:57 is beautiful. The isolated guitar accentuates just how good that riff actually is.

To listen to the albums, the music sounds complicated. To see him play a song and explain the music theory behind the chords and licks, it makes perfect sense.

Not even kidding when I say this was like my writing style 10 years ago and the feeling it gives me to hear it like this is awesome, loved this album and tune. The 9th chord voicings and "those chords I was talking about" was the vibe ❤ Not as pretty or structured (LOL)
Big fan since 2011 (which maybe explains my writing style 10 years ago anyway)

We're talking about a man whom Van Hallen praised for his skills. I think Aaron is the new guitar trend nowadays

Aaron Marshall playing an incredible tune on a 1200 dollar schecter Nick Johnston guitar (FYI one of the best S-type guitars I’ve played in the last few years)
