the impressive about this is that just until very recently all he's doing was possible at a stratopheric level of artists, people with huge racks and insane combinations of amps, pedals, and man power, nowdays is possible with just a few elements and basically one tech, middle class and below bands can get these kind of results way easier and conveniently, all the gear involved for touring probably takes less space and weight than 1 tube amp, that's amazing

Even my great grandparents used to say they were jealous of their kids/grandkids' music (50s-60s-70s-80s-90s). The second half of the 20th century was the golden age of music, it's as simple as that.

@@tricko8000 Music has a weird psychology to it. So someone who started listening to and became a fan of music in the early 2000s will disagree with you and even if they’re “technically wrong” they technically aren’t. My point is that there is always music that will stand the test of time and just because something is a commercial success for the time doesn’t make it timeless. There are also musicians and bands today that could stand up toe to toe with any band from the 90s or 80s. I feel it’s best to just enjoy everything no matter what era it’s from the same way one should enjoy all wines no matter the price point or year.

Araron is surely going for ease of performance without messing with his pedal and modelers and has done an AMAZINE job programing his system to get the sounds and versatility to exact specifications just like a Perfectionist! I love it, there is definitely an Eric Johnson sound and feel to some of the ambient guitar work. I created a simple pedal board with a Boss SY-1 synth going into the Boss DD 200 multi digital Delay into a Boss RV-6 Reverb. Both the DD-200 and the RV-6 have Shimmer and Modulate ( I love the Terra Echo setting) and with all 3 units with the variable settings, I can get everything I want and need for ambient spatial guitar sounds and it is easy to tweak without going into deep menus or programming. Thank you so much for sharing with us Ric! Bravo

Such a great player - your interviews have reached a new level this year, Rick! The only comment I would have is that it is also sometimes good to explore the old ways of playing guitar and older sounds - best example I can think of is Brian Setzer's mining of rockabilly guitar... ultimately mastering and reinventing it. Sometimes the future path can be a reimagining of the past, and too often people have a "been there done that" attitude on playing methods that they've barely explored.

Steve’s is in every city it seems in Canada. Went in one in Montreal. The fact I’m not Canadian and don’t speak French didn’t go over well with the one guy. Looked down his nose. No reason for me to speak French. Took myself out and bought a guitar back home. Try being polite québécois. The french dumped you off yet you’re still loyal to them. They dumped you off. Dumped. Dumped. Get it. Dumped you off.
