  • This is a tutorial for the removal and installation of a McCulloch 650 Pro Clutch. It is very similar to the Mac 10-10 removal and installation. I will show you how to remove the clutch and replace the rim sprocket on the drum. Also, if you need to replace the needle bearing this is a great time to do so.

Thanks for this. Taking apart chainsaws and learning a bit here and there from my pops. Videos like this really help.

I was beginning to think the nut was not how to take it off. I didn't realize you had to turn it clockwise. I've been fighting mine for an hour. No telling how hard it's going to be to get it off now! Thanks

It has always ran great with that plug in there. I might check it out sometime. Thanks for the advice.

Don’t forget to lube the sprocket bearing. I use my battery powered impact to tighten the clutch nut. I hit it twice with the impact. It ends up with about the same torques as the flywheel nut (about 30#).

My 16" McCulloch needed a magic tool to get the clutch off!

I don't know but I like the direct drive option where there is a knurled roller that rolls against the tire and powered the bike. They are pretty cool.

if ur pyranoid to fill it up wit hrope put something else in there like a material called steel that should do some major damage.... the rope will not hurt the inside as long as you put enough in it to where it dont get cut from the piston making a full rotation... good luck!

It is a pain. I used a few screw drivers. Some brake tools help. Anything with a sharp tapered end should help.

How dare you make it look so easy to pull that clutch off. I'm ready to throw my pm610 out the window that thing will NOT come off!

I would like to see what is inside the rewind starter pulley so I will know what goes inside the Timber Bear model. Would you be willing to upload a video of the hardware inside the starter rope pulley?

I don't know. What is your application? Are you trying to put a chainsaw motor on your bicycle?
